this is the hardest thing to explain to non-HCPs, but you have said it so well. It’s just not a mindset that I’ve ever had when it’s come to the reason for a deteriorating patient. What I’ve found really harrowing the last few days, and especially today, is that her taking the stand has shown she was more sadistic and less opportunist than I had believed from previous evidence. Things like getting others to document obs, changing obs in baby G, the blood in the nappy saga. If she truly did plan and follow through with her actions, then whilst she was in control of her emotions and the surroundings in the early days, there was almost no chance at all of ‘detection’ imo.
She was definitely attempting to cover her tracks and I think that's the thing with healthcare, so many people around, so many shift and staff changes, it's easy for a murderer to cover. A quick 'could you just check his obs' wouldn't have raised a single eyebrow, we are used to teamwork and covering each other. But it would provide perfect cover. I'm guessing, that as the numbers of harmed babies and suspicions grow, she will become more erratic, possibly complacent as she thinks she's getting away with it, and that's where she will find it less easy to find people to chuck under that fleet of buses she has parked outside the court!

What a day. Just caught up with it all.
It's been said already but today has really been LL just denying, not recalling, contradicting etc. It feels like a control thing, like she has to have the last word and has to control the narrative.
Her memory for things is so selective it's laughable. She remembers so little except the specific times when she can incriminate someone else or prove her own innocence.

That whole silence episode earlier. Another example of trying to control the narrative but actually failing and not knowing what to do.

She's met her match with BNE. He's so fast and so clever and he's outsmarting her at every turn. It's no wonder she's getting angry. She had a plan and an answer for everything. She had it all worked out as to what to say and what not to say.
And she's being tested in the most intense way ever.

Of course if she were innocent you would expect she wouldn't need to be so controlling with her responses.

Somebody made a really good point earlier that all these other Dr's, nurses etc... would not have been given any details or prompts on what to say when they were interviews by police so there has been no conspiracy to make sure that the timings or details of events match.

They prosecution havn't fit the evidence to suit the case, the evidence suits the case because every single witness was telling the truth. The only one lying is LL.

Ok there’s something that’s been bugging me all day since LL mentioned the whole raw sewage thing. It rang a bell about Bowel Movement (more appropriate than ever that name🤣) asking in cross something about old pipes at the hospital and wondering at the time why on earth he was asking about that. Anyway it’s taken me literally hours to find, but I now know why LL has suddenly come out with that today. Although the point still absolutely stands that there’s no way that caused what has happened, or that if defs was in room 1 at the time of E. I’m guessing they brought it up with E specifically as there’s no postmortem, and so they were trying to push the NEC narrative or bowel infection from germs etc, though that’s pretty much been blown out of the water now from all the rest of the evidence we’ve heard, and all of LL’s contradictions today showing the fact the bleed and air were what actually killed E. But anyway here is what I found dated way back in November:

Me three!! Honestly sooooooo much to say about today but as usual most of it already has been covered. Really looking forward to hearing our court insider filling us in on todays going ons.

Interesting thought from the poster about how it may be the nurses LL is targeting rather than parents/babies. I think at this stage she maybe just enjoyed hurting everyone from the colleagues to the babies to the parents. I just think she’s an evil psychopath and there will be psychologists queued up to try and work out her reasons for doing what she has done. But interestingly I went back and read everything in the wiki for Baby E, and I’d forgotten this was when she was saying it was the luck of the draw and element of fate. There was a colleague that was then concerned about her as she’d noticed what an awful run she’d been having (hence LL saying luck of draw), this was also same colleague she’d just been saying it was too quiet that shift to 🤢🤢🤢. She also bathed the baby and dressed him in-front of mum as mum was so traumatised, she also gave her the memory box which Mum was “surprised” to receive. She also txt colleague about how mum had given her a hug and thanked her for all she’d done🤢🤢🤢. Also when I was rereading and saw the element of fate luck of the draw stuff, it had got me thinking about something, wasn’t B clinically doing a bit better than A, and E was clinically stronger than F, and I’m sure the unharmed triplet was stronger than O&P, would have to check L&M cos i can’t remember, but it does make me wonder was she playing some kind of sick game to see which one survived and which one didn’t as she went for the stronger one first 🤢🤢🤢

Also I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again cos I’m more convinced now than ever. LL has only taken the stand cos she’s sadistic, she wants to further hurt the families more, and she wants to keep some sense of power over them. If she was truly innocent, then she either wouldn’t have taken the stand at all (cos she didn’t need to look how many thought she was innocent/on the fence until now), or she wouldn’t be throwing everyone under the bus now and continuously lying now. She has only taken the stand for her own narcissistic reasons, she is not up there trying to get off, she’s up there to revel in the pain and perceived power she has by being up there testifying. She’s beyond sick, and how that poor mum of E&F has sat there today listening to that absolute bull tit I don’t know, and the ultimate hurtful bit where she then had the nerve to say she thought she had a good relationship with the mum🤢🤢🤢 imagine how that poor woman felt listening to that after listening to all the other lies from her before that. I’m just so glad she took the stand like those who followed trials knew she would, cos it’s exposing her for the monster she is, just makes me even more mad how much she’s loving this lime light, but at least it will ensure she never sees outside of a prison again---

Yes this is exactly what I mean about her taking the stand
Hearing this again sounds so sinister now. “luck of the draw and element of fate” ~ does she mean for the babies, depending on which room she was allocated to

That was really perceptive of you to remember this from November and it's like he just asked her this very randomly, a bit weird really. Yet no other nurse ever mentioned the sewerage problem and LL didn't report it and babies didn't die because of it.

Blimey well remembered!! I don’t recall 😉

Was Andy Gill the only one to report that bit?

@nosycowmoo i wanted to ask did NBE say anything about the sewerage stuff being in her original defence statement/police interviews or not? It seems so out of the blue and left field, despite BM briefly mentioning it back in November.

Yea it still is irrelevant to me, as in it’s not the cause of E’s death, but this is obvs where they were originally going to go on the defence with this one. But seeing as LL txt about literally everything and complained non stop you’d think she would have mentioned this in one of her many txts. In fact you’d think if she was being clever enough then when JJK says about her having a run of bad luck etc, and LL was being the pathologist giving causes of death she would have suggested this at the time. There’s also no record of anyone else mentioning this that we’ve seen so far, and there’s been no record we’ve seen of anyone being ill from it and no Datix report from the time, I actually wonder whether BM has gone with this as an idea for what happened rather than BM

I actually did wonder at a point whether I’d imagined it, and was losing my mind as absolutely no one else had said it had rang a bell or anything. But I do think we mentioned it it one of threads at the time cos we were all wondering why on earth BM was asking about old pipes, it seemed really random at the time. It took me agessssss to find, couldn’t find it in wiki or in the CS reporting or independent, but it may have been in a round up that I hadn’t read yet. I actually used that spreadsheet to see what links they’d put in for witnesses connected to E, and finally that’s how I found it reported by Mersey hack. Also it wasn’t the consultant or any doctors or any other witnesses BM seemed to ask about it, only the unnamed nurse, which I assume is the one that had been there for years and was the mentor one (perhaps the unnamed bestie also from today)

theres obviously more to come out about the status of relationship she had with colleagues and parents. X2 references today to falling out with MT and baby Es mum.
I agree with this, can’t wait til we are able to hear everything after the trial. But I agree the falling out with MT is significant. I wonder are the prosecution deliberately showing that she seemed to be very jealous of others, especially MT and SE and earlier on was pointed out about AH being on shift also everytime of an atttaxk. Surely jealousy has to be part of her motive too. She was maybe jealous of babies and parents too. She’s twisted. And Noname and attention are deffo a factor later on too. Interesting that the night she wasn’t allowed in 1 she caused an collapse and the night she said it’s too quiet she caused a collapse 🤔

Wish someone would put this cretin in the holding cells at the court and just leave him there
'Justifies the decision' 😂 Surely he can't think that this is better than the purposeful ambiguity that BM had put in place? Even Reddit's been swung.

Not fully caught up but I must say it. The parents and colleagues had no reason to lie in their agreed statements. They have only said what they know, with no idea at that time about the bigger picture. The timings and everything have only become so significant when it’s all been pieced together by police and CPS. It’s only Letby that is trying to dispute the agreed facts of the case because they point out she is guilty. We can see this, the jury absolutely will see it.
And the sewage is just her wracking her brains and clutching at straws. It happens in old buildings and is dealt with. It’s not ideal working conditions but for her to suddenly throw it out there now is very “yeah, but no, but yeah, but no, there was sewage so it’s not my fault innit”
brilliantly put, BUT now I will forever more haveher speaking in Vicky Pollard tongue, the ear worm from the podcast has been replaced. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

He's an absolute moron. Proper little sad act, setting himself up as the boss of the FB group, yet shouting down anyone who thinks he's guilty. He's as weird as Letby. I think he's just not very bright and doesn't seem to understand that this 'bat and ball' stuff he keeps banging on about, is actually clever questioning designed to put Letby on the spot and tie her up in knots. Pretty dumb really and Facebook is probably the right place for him.

Ha I’d go everyday if it didn’t cost £20 in train tickets and breakfast club for my children at school 😆 considering a go fund me 😉
I would definitely contribute to that in a heartbeat, I love getting the atmospheric details from your insights! 💕

Did we reach a conclusion about why Nick only refers to Lucy as, Lucy Letby.
Nick was circling today, he will release the throttle on the final date this week, so she doesn’t become ‘I’ll’

How, HOW does someone get threw all of their training masking these characteristics?? It is just beyond me and maybe because we aren’t being told yet, but perhaps she wasn’t as competent and took longer to complete certain qualifications, and maybe there were fitness to practice issues and other complaints, that can’t be reported yet as could impact on fair trial 🤷
There was the thought of a discrepancy with her mentioning the intensive care training in 2013 but only completing it in 2015, so you could well be right and it’s too prejudicial to be heard during trial. Wasn’t BA supposed to be a bit of a tit nurse too. I think there’s soooooo much going to come out after the trial, at least that’s something else to bring us all back to this thread for, new discussions on all that will come out afterwards 🤣

I just had a look back and it was the same day the consultant apologised to the parents for advising not to do the PM. There was no live reporting from CS and it was only Andy Gill tweeting and later Judith joined in. It only got mentioned a couple of times on the thread but it came from someone seeing it on Facebook so it didn’t really stick here 🤣

It’s so weird looking back at an old thread. It’s been a loooong time.

ETA I’ve now added to wiki as unnamed nurse (2) as it’s not the unnamed designated nurse.
