I do too chuck. I am not sure I'd still be able to support her in their position but at the same time I suppose they have to see it through. They always look broken, it’s awful to see. I really feel for them.
your mind went to people, mine went to balls.. dipping them in yoghurt is a whole different topicOh thank christ, I thought I was going to have to ask you for your membership card back and give you a Chinese burn.

Well that's very cruel...I mean I'm not overly keen on the pale, freckled beings but that's just a step too far. Gingers have feelings too.

Same here. I’m watching closely because I want understand how this has happened and see justice done. Then something is mentioned that brings the focus back to the victims. How defenceless and innocent they were, some in their first few hours of life. It’s horrific. My babies have all been huge but I remember when my oldest was born (9lb6) and my heart literally ached for how tiny and vulnerable he was to me. I remember the first time I clipped his nails and I cried for 45 minutes because I cut one too short and hurt him. This was over 18 years ago and I still feel ick about it. It’s incomprehensible to most of us how anybody could deliberately harm these babies.same, there’s something about it that is so disturbing … I’ve really found it playing on my mind for some reason.
I work in post-16 education and read that and thought what have out of funders got to do with it lol. My brain is obviously not working at all.The fact that she just straight up and sat in silence and refused to acknowledge NJ's question at one point is such a big OOF! Obviously I wasn't there but I can't imagine that would look or sound great to a juror.
I think you’re right, this is like a light bulb moment for me in terms of the babies and how she decided who to target. It was the nurses who she was angry with I think. She killed then on purpose because she was not good enough… in their eyesAh ok interesting. She tried to mess with JJKs babies (N) at times. Q she is fitting up Minna. Seems like she is jealous and spiteful towards everybody.
This is really how it reads imoSooooo… on Friday she was speaking as little as possible and as short of answers as she could, and she crumbled. Today she was she same but she was pissed off, she was arrogant, snappy and verging on rude. She’s so self assured, almost cocky. She has a lovely accent but today she was fighting. IMO she was pissed about Friday and came back fighting. She blinks unbelievably fast when answering anything too I noticed it on Friday but it seemed even MORE today! She seemed irritated every single time she had to turn to a page, or open another file (which btw are hugeeeeeee some arch lever a4, and another one is shorter but the widest file I’ve ever seen. IMO she showed her true colours today, it’s all got to her and she was not happy about it. The prosecution as always was calm, polite and lovely with her but still made his points. I was surprised they didn’t bring up baby Es mum saying she heard the scream, and that it’s directly the mums word vs LL. It was a long day and at times hard to follow, I’m going to read the live feeds from today to digest it all and I’ll be back![]()
Not sure I agree on either point. In the nicest possible way.Totally agree with your first point. I feel it’s usually people suspicious of organisations and institutions, people that have felt ‘wronged’ themselves.
I think if this was her best day she’s definitely ducked isn’t she. She agreed with the prosecution expert medical evidence and then went silent when asked to expand.
How, HOW does someone get threw all of their training masking these characteristics?? It is just beyond me and maybe because we aren’t being told yet, but perhaps she wasn’t as competent and took longer to complete certain qualifications, and maybe there were fitness to practice issues and other complaints, that can’t be reported yet as could impact on fair trialAgree. There is no way otherwise she could have dehumanised those poor tiny vulnerable newborns enough to torture them otherwise. She seems so devoid of emotion, empathy, all the normal human characteristics that would prevent a normal human with normal emotions from inflicting that agony on innocents and their parents. But sadly I don't think there is a way of identifying and weeding out potential Lucy's from entering nursing in the first place. AFAIK there is no test for 'do you have psychopathic tendencies. Hopefully once she is found guilty, measures will be put in place to prevent anyone being able to harm so many people in such a short period of time, but I guess people must have thought that after Allitt and here we are again.
When you see this chart in black and white with all the staff and their presence during the incidents it really hits home how few times others were present. I hope the jury have been shown this because it does point this out very clearly and simply.Yeah, I think that this one is a different nurse. There's a nurse on the staffing map for G who can't be named, JJK wasn't in.

Quite possibly. It may be that gaps in her competence were identified but tbh I think it's more simple than that. As humans and nurses, we don't expect to find a serial killer in our midst and it would be the very last thing to think. I've worked with some shockingly incompetent nurses in my nursing life but they have just been incompetent, not murderous. And fortunately concerns were taken further with those nurses and two of the worst ones were struck off. How, HOW does someone get threw all of their training masking these characteristics?? Even this lovely dog was taking what she said with a pinch of salt.
this is the hardest thing to explain to non-HCPs, but you have said it so well. It’s just not a mindset that I’ve ever had when it’s come to the reason for a deteriorating patient. What I’ve found really harrowing the last few days, and especially today, is that her taking the stand has shown she was more sadistic and less opportunist than I had believed from previous evidence. Things like getting others to document obs, changing obs in baby G, the blood in the nappy saga. If she truly did plan and follow through with her actions, then whilst she was in control of her emotions and the surroundings in the early days, there was almost no chance at all of ‘detection’ imo.Quite possibly. Its literally impossible for her to be on anything else. It has been stated by her defence, and by letby herself that she is taking anti depressants which have been prescribed by a GP.Is this legit knowledge or speculation?
Probably once he heard about the police coming onto the unit and what was being alleged through the grapevine. She said it 'fizzled out' in early 2018 before she was arrested.
Before that it sounds like he just thought that LL was being accused of incompetence going by his messages:
