See this is why you're not meant to take the stand. Lucy just happily agreeing with the experts. Those experts are also suggesting babies were murdered! You don't want the defendant to agree with them....

I'm intrigued to hear BNEs closing statement in this. I'm almost certain he will point out exactly how many different people she has blamed for each incident. The jury may not pick up on it all at the time given how much they hear and have to take it. However, it will stand out if BNE can say she had pretty much blamed someone else in all 22 cases, yet she was the only one present for all of them.
I think he'll tie it all up mighty fine and building up to anihalate her at the end of his closing speech.
A big bleeping 💥 and we can all stand and clap our hands

If you’ve not followed it closely and you’re just listening to someone say “no” then sure it would come across that way. Are they analysing what it would take to fit somebody for this? Really? Who do your friends believe poisoned the babies? I find it quite incredible people think letby saying it didn’t happen can cause reasonable doubt. All defendants say it didn’t happen. But these people seem quite happy to accept babies full of air and insulin. How did all these babies die, why are they so similar? Sorry but just going, I believe the crying nurse isn’t really an in-depth look at the situation! Why would you fit someone for murder cos a unit is understaffed 🙈 every unit is understaffed at points. No understaffing till baby K. It’s utterly ridiculous, the staffing levels are not so different from the previous year that a baby dies or needs prolonged cpr every shift one nurse has in june 2015. Just after she’s qualified to access lines. And the babies are full of air.
Unless, like the jury, you have followed the case from start to finish, it would be hard to see just how much she’s lying. Honestly I am so supremely confident she’s done for. I have the fizz waiting.
You restore my faith in humanity. 😀😀😀 Great post!

The fact that she just straight up and sat in silence and refused to acknowledge NJ's question at one point is such a big OOF! Obviously I wasn't there but I can't imagine that would look or sound great to a juror.

Not fully caught up but I must say it. The parents and colleagues had no reason to lie in their agreed statements. They have only said what they know, with no idea at that time about the bigger picture. The timings and everything have only become so significant when it’s all been pieced together by police and CPS. It’s only Letby that is trying to dispute the agreed facts of the case because they point out she is guilty. We can see this, the jury absolutely will see it.
And the sewage is just her wracking her brains and clutching at straws. It happens in old buildings and is dealt with. It’s not ideal working conditions but for her to suddenly throw it out there now is very “yeah, but no, but yeah, but no, there was sewage so it’s not my fault innit”

Slightly off topic but she reminds me of Psycho Sienna Blake from Hollyoaks. Very prim and proper, acting all sweet & innocent, clever and professional, but underneath she is a complete loon and can’t help lying and doing bad things. She even looks slightly like her, although the Anna Passey is bloody gorgeous whereas LL…not so much.

He's seen all the evidence, he probably thinks that shes guilty but it's job to make the prosecution prove their case. He's surely advised her not to take the stand but if she's insisted he's probably thought duck it go hang yourself then.

I think she's happy to take the stand and throw anyone and everyone else under the bus and potentially ruin peoples careers and create more victims
I’ve just had a thought …. that this is her very last chance to get any air time for her compulsions, she’s so sick, she is using the court as a stage for her last hurrah, she doesn’t care who she hurts or implicates in the process!

I’m so confused why she brought up the sewage backing up issue now. It hasn’t been mentioned at all before has it? And has absolutely no bearing on the cause of death for these children?

Just seems a foolish thing to do as a defendant. She really boggles my mind sometimes, her actions don’t make sense.

I think Letby looks like a gorky fella in some of her pics😀

can’t wait to hear all about it, thank you for your service to us! 🥰, I really appreciate it and you are brilliant at describing the tone of the room! a

I’m in Ireland and was seriously considering flying over for a day in court, but, I decided against it as it would be just my luck that the wagon would have a tantrum and court wouldn’t be sitting the day I got there.
Ha I’d go everyday if it didn’t cost £20 in train tickets and breakfast club for my children at school 😆 considering a go fund me 😉

Wrong. That's exactly why I have PTSD. Because, like Letby, a result that doesn't go in my favour will ruin my life/career. It's already at risk just from the arrest. I wasn't expecting it, I've never had any negative involvement with police before and I am innocent because the accusation is made up.

So, whilst Letby, if guilty (as most of us believe) is unlikely to be suffering from PTSD due to her arrest, it doesn't mean it can't happen. I am now
also 'medicated' and have developed huge anxiety and agoraphobia too.
Im not saying it can’t happen. My post is referring to Letby personally. Getting PTSD from being accused of something you didn’t do is not the same as claiming you have it from being asked questions about things you did do - notice I said “you don’t get it from being asked questions about your own behaviour”, even if letby was innocent, it is her own utterly inappropriate behaviour that caused her to be questioned - hoarding the paperwork, texting all day when she should be concentrating on a baby, demanding at work and lurking around places when she didn’t need to be there.

I am on anti psychotics and sedatives for PTSD. So I know what being medicated is like, but describing Letby as medicated gives the impression that she is impaired. She is not, she is on basic SSRI anti depressants from a GP which is not the same as being medicated withthings that impair your memory etc.

So many people I speak to about this case in work think she’s NG since she’s testified 😩 they think it’s a stitch up by seniors because units were understaffed! I’ve followed from the beginning & never wavered from thinking she’s guilty so the fact that she seems to be appearing innocent to so many terrifies me! I don’t think the prosecution are challenging her enough, they’re not pointing out that’s she’s consistently lied & changed her story & it’s infuriating, I really think there’s too much reasonable doubt because of this & she’s going to get away with mass murder 😭

There is time for that though.

I think he is going in gentle, and building up. She has tripped over a few times.

Look, I think most people aren't following that closely, I've always said there is a political agenda in wanting to believe this is a stitch up.

People in HC know how toxic it can be, they really want a poor little innocent nurse to be found not guilty so it can prove how bad it all is.

But anybody listening to her will realise there is no way she didn't do this.

The absolute idiots who think testifying is some sign of innocence, I wouldnt give then the time of day.

It's the same as people saying if she was guilty she would have gotten rid of all the handover notes. It makes no logical sense.

Just point out the henious serial killers who all took the stand.

Most do! It means sod all.

Moors murderers

Ian Huntley

Daniel. Pelka killers

All took the stand any many more.

If they honestly think that means innocence I'd be secretly laughing at their utter ignorance.

If it wasn't such a sad case.
