Slingo, I do remember Dr B (I think) mention that they had concerned about babies A-C/D, then O-Q (when they were raising it left right and centre… #karen) but it he said something along the lines of ‘and that’s before we realised about the insulin cases.’ I think (could be a different bit) the judge stopped him as he started almost showing his working out as to how they ended up calling the police- ie discounting natural causes and starting to really become more than sure it was foul play.

This is my first foray into Tattle/any forum and the first trial I’ve followed. I came across from faceyB on the first day and have been following almost daily. Thank you. I have a chronic illness and I can’t get out much- this has been, although hard because of the subject matter, like a community. I’d like to second that it’s such a warm and grown up, nice place.

Those poor poor babies. And their siblings 💔 and those parents and family ☹

Last thread closed while I was replying so carrying it over…

You’re probably along the right lines with this. Or maybe she wanted to be the one holding/touching the baby when they took their last breath so thought if she timed it right she’d be doing the prints at the same time 🤢

avabella, I’m curious to know whether you’re still waiting for the defence to finish or whether you’re leaning towards a side yet? You’ve been one of the few not in the 100% G camp who’s always been willing to question the evidence and share your views so I’m really interested to hear where you’re at now.
Still over here just waiting for BM to pull something out his bag 🤣🤦🏽‍♀️

In all seriousness though, the pendulum is swaying ever more in the G side, but I am nothing if not stubborn so I will hear it all out and then see where that leaves me. I really do not envy that poor jury it’s absolutely awful, the weight of responsibility on them and the sheer amount of info and questioning they’ve had to listen to.

I picked up on the BIB - I know posters on here have noticed she answers ‘we’ a lot and seems NJ has picked up on it too. Im interested in the psychology of this, answering we instead of I. Is it something liars do a lot of? (Because it doesn’t feel as big of a lie if you didn’t feel it but others did??) saying ‘I felt….’ Is a stronger statement than ‘we felt….’
To pick up on Tofino's post in the last thread (only just caught up). The psychology behind pronoun shifting is really interesting from a criminology standpoint.

The use of "I" takes ownership of a statement. Truth tellers will have no problem using the pronoun "I". Someone being deceptive will drop the "I" pronoun in order to minimise the reference to themselves.
A truthful person may say "I left the door unlocked" whereas a deceptive person would likely say "the door was unlocked".

A deceptive person will use the pronoun "You" instead of "I" or "we" instead of "I" to minimise their involvement. The pronoun "You" could also be used by a deceptive person as a way of creating resonance with the person they are trying to deceive.

ETA - the use of "we" instead of "I" is a way of shifting blame or sharing blame. So instead of "I was in the room" they'd say "we were in the room".

A deceptive person would use words like "the" instead of "my" to create distance. "The gun went off" as opposed to "my gun went off".

Interestingly deceptive people would describe past events as though they are happening in the present whilst a truthful person would refer to past events in the past tense. (I'm sure LL has referred to some things as though they are happening now - which is interesting...)

Deceptive people also use vague responses and non committal verbs (guess, believe, suppose) along with words like "maybe", "almost", "perhaps".

For anyone interested in this sort of thing - the show Faking It (think its on discovery +) is a good watch as is The Behaviour Panel on Youtube (particularly Chase Hughes and Greg Hartley)

If you’ve not followed it closely and you’re just listening to someone say “no” then sure it would come across that way. Are they analysing what it would take to fit somebody for this? Really? Who do your friends believe poisoned the babies? I find it quite incredible people think letby saying it didn’t happen can cause reasonable doubt. All defendants say it didn’t happen. But these people seem quite happy to accept babies full of air and insulin. How did all these babies die, why are they so similar? Sorry but just going, I believe the crying nurse isn’t really an in-depth look at the situation! Why would you fit someone for murder cos a unit is understaffed 🙈 every unit is understaffed at points. No understaffing till baby K. It’s utterly ridiculous, the staffing levels are not so different from the previous year that a baby dies or needs prolonged cpr every shift one nurse has in june 2015. Just after she’s qualified to access lines. And the babies are full of air.
Unless, like the jury, you have followed the case from start to finish, it would be hard to see just how much she’s lying. Honestly I am so supremely confident she’s done for. I have the fizz waiting.
Yeah I saw someone on Twitter reply to a tweet about Letby saying ‘is that the nurse accused of killing babies’ and the reply was yes, then she went on to say ‘yeah I think she’s a scapegoat’

Ok, so a few mins ago you had to double check the name of the defendant but you are convinced she’s a scapegoat. Tell me you haven’t followed the case closely without telling me you haven’t followed the case closely.

I think common sense would prevail tbh
If op Hummingbird goes on for the next 3 years taking us into 2026 that means she’s been under investigation for 9 years, that’s not a fuckin scapegoat

Yeeeees - but I can understand that. I can see how the events of 15/16 seem like another world (blimey, it was, David Cameron, brexit, no pandemic, the Paris attacks, David Bowie and terry Wogan and Prince dying …

Whereas the events happening to her are now,’if that makes sense? I’m not saying that means she’s innocent, just that personally I don’t think that’s necessarily meaningful or significant. I had two friends pass away 2016, and honestly it feels like light years ago.

Time is so strange isn’t it?
Time isn't strange in the slightest.

The fucker in the dock is strange.

Crying and amateur dramatics when she hears the voice of a man she used to text. Crying over her beige bedroom with the shitty bedspread and wallart. Yet barely any emotion when hearing about the deaths of these babies, the ones she's on trial for? The ones she cared so much about that she just had to search social media because she was thinking about them. Regularly.

Bloody hell I didn't expect to be right ( brain fog) thank you for looking that up to compare.
I remembered the same so had to go double check!! I was in court that day of defence and saw the diagram. It’s all round the mouth like a moustache and goatee. There is no way you would forget if you were Lucy or be mistaken if you were mum.

Oh I thought bile was stomach acid, but it’s from the bowels? Ok it makes sense. So if she is saying it was bile aspirated at 9pm she would have had to act as quickly as if it was bleeding, and we know she didn’t act until 10pm.
Bile is produced in the liver, stored in the gall bladder and released into the intestine as required to help break down fat.
I don’t know if you’ve got to the stage where you’ve thrown up so much that you’ve absolutely nothing left in your stomach and are still retching and this horrible green corrosive, acrid stuff comes up. That’s bile.
It’s never happened to me of course 👀😬

Some of her answers like "that's not true" in answer to NJ's questions about "you inserted something into Child G's Airway didn't you?" make me feel a bit creeped out.

As in, she knows what she did, and she's saying that it's not true because they've got it slightly wrong, or not quite 100% correct in what she did do, and she's correcting them without admitting guilt in a way?

Not sure if that makes sense.

Your baby has died - On what planet would you lie about the circumstances? Forgetby is absolutely abhorrent, scum of the earth. Poor Baby E's mum, I honestly can't imagine how she is feeling listening to this bullshit.

It could be he wants to do the two insulin cases together, or at the end if he thinks they are the strongest cases?

Lucy herself is admitting the alternative story she's come up with isn't a realistic possibility.
