Bit off topic but some might find interesting if it's not been mentioned before but anyone can look on the NMC website to see cases where nursing staff have been disciplined.
It is eye opening. From medication errors to punching patients to ones that are clear incompetence.
Some are sad reading as I get the impression they just weren't supported enough or had adequate study.

Letby can't say this as in her own words she did every course she could .
Have you seen the one for social workers? That one is even worse! There’s some of them that have been sleeping with people from families they’re meant to be helping and buying alcohol etc for underage kids. It’s absolutely fucked!

I really want to get her off the stand and see if the defence have any experts. I was reading a post last night which was really interesting. The hospital could have fucked the case if any of this is true.

Apparently according the RCPH report they didn't test fluids nor save any tissue or serums post mortem. The alder hey path lab had no enterovirus or parcheovirus tests to perform postmortem. One set of twins was born to a mother with antiphospholipid syndrome. Having antiphosholipid antibodies + viral infection increases the risk of thromboembolic events. Interesting the stillbirth rate was also very high the year of excess deaths. Enterovirus infection is also linked to type 1 diabetes and the introduction of auto antibodies to the cells in the pancreas. Neither baby had follow up tests to ascertain if they had problems with insulin production.

If some randomer on reddit has managed to pull together loads of journals and an hypothesis. I do wonder what the defence has. The hospital has fucked this case by not testing properly I think she's dodgy but if the defence pull something out like this. It seriously harms the prosecutions case.
Can I just say, this guy is chatting pure shit. In order to calculate the dose of insulin required to reach CSS, there are several fundamental pieces of information which he hasn’t included. He hasn’t taken into account the insulin distribution volume or the clearance lmao so I already know that his completely wrong. He also admits he doesn’t know the exact duration of the infusion either. These are extremely complex pharmacokinetic calculations and unless you’ve studied this (ie you’re a pharmacist) then you’re not gonna be able to do it. I am going to attempt to calculate it when I get home tonight, but given the missing information I actually don’t even think I’ll be able to.

Bowel movement must be thinking why the actual fuck did I agree to take her on. He probably secretly thinks she's an absolute tit of a woman but obviously can't let hus feelings be known. I'd love to see his diary entries 😂😂

On a brighter note I shall be being induced on Friday teatime so if court is on i won't miss it 🎉🎉

Okay so we are up to baby I and so far the defence has not managed to show me any evidence that has made me stop and think there could be any other reason for the collapses … I REALLY think they pushed for her not to go on the stand, they don’t seem to be doing much “defending” or offering a different picture.

This is one of the biggest and most complex murder cases of our time. The police could not afford to make any mistakes during investigation. So even if it is unusual to have further unexpected early morning raids, I think making an exception in this case is entirely justified.

Surely even someone who is leaning towards innocent / not guilty can understand why they wouldn’t take any chances on a case like this.

Lovely to see your name pop up. You've been missed by us all 🫶
---

Ooooh fantastic news....all you have to do is pop the baby out over the weekend and you can be back with us on Monday 😂😂
That's my hoping anyway can't let a small thing like giving birth get in the way of the trial now 😂😂

If the defence come up with compelling medical expert testimony that says these incidents were natural causes, then yes I'd consider NG. That to me is the only thing that matters and I found the prosecution experts convincing as they looked at it from different specialities and angles and all came to the same conclusion. As an aside I find her unprofessional with a disregard for authority/rules, so even with a NG verdict would hope she is never allowed to practice as a nurse or HCP ever again.

If this expert Redditer is a world-renowned leader in their field, and specialises in a condition that’s so ultra rare that not many experts in that medical field specialise in, then I expect one of two things:

1. If he/she has already written & published peer-reviewed articles in top medical journals (top journals that specialise in that specific area - not just any old B-list journal); and his studies have not so far been contested by any of his peers; then, the expert that LL’s defence will call might very well make use of his/her studies/findings when they testify in LL’s trial.

2. Alternatively, LL’s defence might bring call him/her in as their expert witness.

If none of these things happen, then I’ll take what they say with a pinch of salt.

Oh and by the way, I never revealed this to yo u lovely Tattlers ❤ before for fear of being hounded by fans, but I’m a world-renowned, multi-million dollar, award-winning pop start who is often referred to as the Queen of Pop. Can you guess who I am? 😉

Just saying …

So did she try and get baby H baptised? And there was an argument about it? Very intriguing.
yes. Honestly I’m exhausted by her ‘conflicts’ with everyone. Can you imagine even if she was innocent how insufferable it would have been working with her!

I think there’s the odd charge she’ll escape but the vast majority will get a conviction. What did o&p die from 🙈 extreme/sudden premature death at 4lbs 33+ weeks? why two sets of twins with the same problems? Less than 24hrs after each other with a horrendous bruise to the liver? Why a big air bubble by the catheter for baby D, a full term baby?
I do get confused by this idea there needs to be more, what exactly would you expect if somebody was killing prem babies with air and trying to with insulin? Do murder convictions rely on somebody seeing it happen 🤷🏻‍♀️ surely that would count out a considerable amount. There won’t be DNA or CCTV so does that mean people can just get away with those crimes if they’re clever enough? She wasn’t clever enough. She killed or nearly killed a baby every shift in June 2015. Look at the text reactions she got then! This was bizarre. No staffing problems then. That comes when she’s setting off lots of babies at once not picking one to kill. She started killing as soon as she had access to veins and had learnt about air embolism but doesn’t remember the risks of that when being quizzed by police 😳. There is air in the babies only comparable to huge organ failure type infections or car crashes.
I have a special bottle ready for sentencing, wish I could invite you all to watch with me.. No gingers allowed policy though to keep the numbers manageable 🤣

i think it’s the whole collection of errors I find hard to believe. If turning the machine off at the wall was typical for COCH then I can believe that the Drs may forget to turn it back on. But in addition to that they both forgot to put baby back in the cot and left her on the trolley, they both left her alone behind the screen, they both forgot to tell a nurse they were leaving and ask them to move baby/move screen?

and on top of this, it just happened to be Lucy, yet again, who found the baby not breathing and it’s solely her word we have to believe that any of this happened. And so far every other witness is wrong so I find it hard to believe anything she says. Maybe some of the things she says are actually true at times but if she’s being shown up as a liar at other times then how am I meant to know if she’s telling the truth or lying?

I haven’t heard a shred of any defence so far. I’ve sniffed nothing of interest that would exonerate her. Anything big you’d go right in and say it all guns blazing. It’s purely Letby the fantasist saying what should have happened when x happened, or that she can’t recall. Or can recall, someone else doing something in particular. Absolute shambles so far.
Where are the photos of other cards she sent or received? No mention of any. Is she going to say she lost all others in some weird SDcard formatting incident. Freak accident with her phone - did Becky Vardy’s ex-PA lose it in a sea? And we are to believe she just happened to keep the one sent to the dead baby’s parents?

Cannae wait for the cross-examination either.

I’m pretty sure one of the doctors describes going through things with a nurse before they left Baby G. If the baby was left on the trolley it’s probably because they were left with somebody who was supposed to then go on and take care of the baby. The idea Dr G and another doc would just leave a baby like that is absurd imo. Or not look at the monitor once they’d finished to check baby was stable? Especially as Dr Gibbs is operating in a mentoring type role to Dr Harkness at this point. I think they left baby G under the eye of Letby. If it had been anyone else they notified, monitor would have been noticed by the nurse. But it just so happens they left baby compromised, without checking the monitor, without telling anyone at all and it then just so happens to be Letby that finds the baby in a very dangerous predicament and it is by chance this happens when the monitor was off. 🤥🤥🤥

Yikes. Think her answers for baby K might be the most obvious bullshit so far! So are Dr J and the parents all working together, trying to frame her? That’s a lot of totally invented scenarios now. Why did she say in police interview that she was waiting for self correction?

Just listening to today’s podcast (about Friday’s court session) and they mention baby D’s mum and her testimony re Lucy being in the room around 7pm.

it just occurred to me after all that discussion earlier regarding JJK and baby N, that we now know Lucy does go into the rooms before her shifts start - she was there at 7.10pm for baby N.

I know there is swipe data and a text message at later times for baby d, but the theory of Lucy being in the room around 7 before her shift doesn’t actually seem that unreasonable now.

This is what I mean about her now being able to provide answers to things she couldn’t before. This is HUGE for me personally. She’s giving information she should have given at her first opportunity. For me there is no reason for that other than she’s had time to make it up - lies.

The reviews found no staffing issues up until February which I think is baby K’s birth month. It was horribly busy in the middle of the case because she was harming many babies along side each other. So much so the parents had begun to talk about a mystery virus at Chester.
Honestly don’t understand why she was so desperate to work there and so devastated to be redeployed. Everyone there was garbage except for her apparently. And in the next breath they are family and it’s ‘we this we that’. She says multiple times over and over that they’re a great team and everyone did everything they could when these babies die. All the deaths are a total shock to her. She seems to want to have it all ways.

I've just finally found 5 mins to sit down and read today's transcript.

It really feels like BM is not really defending much. He basically says did you do it (it being whatever incident she is accused of for that particular baby) and she just replies no. She doesn't have much of an answer.

Also confused about the dark room evidence. That picture was agreed facts so must have been verified that it could be that dark yet she categorically denies it could have been. Surely that just makes her look stupid or am I really missing something?

So can we take a moment for all those who have fallen under the bus? So far I think that’s:

Melanie Taylor
The Not A Disagreement about wanting to be in room 1 disagreement- as related to JJK
The mum that was mistaken that she came down at 9 with breast milk
Dr Gibbs
Dr.Harkness
E.Powel who didn’t remember anyone coming to her with any complaints about Dr G or Dr H leaving the baby and leaving the monitor off
The unnamed nurse who froze
The mother who didn’t go to get coffee
Room 1 itself
The agreed evidence light levels in room 3
The colleagues who she got on well with/were her family but were also saying not positive comments
JJK for not thinking that another colleague positively mentioning loads how flexible LL was and winding all of the rest of the shift up was a good thing

Any more?
The 3 hour round trip to court.
The 6am rude awakening.
Her Dad not getting the job in Torbay or wherever it was.
The shredder she didn't even know she owned.
