It was me that requested a wiki page so I will make a start of it. I was thinking of adding the live reporting links at the top for easy access for people to fine and then keeping it quite strict with only info that comes out of court and not speculation and theories outside of that. I do the louise thompson wiki page and it’s essentially gossip but I think for this it needs to be kept factual (from court) as much as possible so it’s an information page. But open to thoughts and suggestions.

Im thinking of contents
- about
- links to live reporting
- timeline of charges
- Baby A (charges and info)
- Baby B etc

then maybe an other info section for any the extra information that’s not related to a specific baby

A year later, on the anniversary of Child O's death, Letby carried out a search on Facebook on the surname of the child.

With every child it’s looking more and more damning for her. So, how would you remember such a date, unless you’d committed to memory for a reason.
This is bad.
She must’ve been hoping to find the parents posting about their baby’s death and get an insight into their grief. Revelling in the consequences of what she’d done ☹

Not being impatient at all. I know how courts work, I've attended lots of Crown Court trials for lot of heinous crimes, most recently a historic child sexual abuse case. My prediction on the very first day is usually right.
my comments weren’t aimed at you but good for you for calling every case you have ever worked on the first day 🙄

for the record, people like me who may be trying a case in any given court in the country encounter people like you who have no legal expertise whatsoever but work the court every day. We don’t like you. We are polite, we smile but no one likes a know it all 🙁

This is a great post. It's more of a phenomenon in the Americas, but womb raiders are still a thing. It's not unheard of for women to go as far as to cut another woman's baby out of her womb and just leave the woman bleeding out. The baby is the most valuable thing, the woman is just collateral damage to them.

I don't know if it happens as often now in Western countries, but there was always the tales of very rich women who couldn't reproduce 'stealing' the children of poorer women or of the help. Or offering poor women a better life for her kids. I think I remember a story not so long ago of an old woman who was stolen by a traveler family and taken to Canada (I think. Or Aus. Somewhere in the Commonwealth).

I'm not being misogynistic or a self-hating woman or anything, I'm not trying to reinforce any 'hysterical woman, wandering womb' archaic bullshit, but baby fever is hard. Baby fever when you can't have a baby is hard. It's enough to drive anyone mad, and I don't know how it manages to tip into killing babies out of spite, or 'womb raider' scenarios, or kidnapping, but it does happen. Not something to be discounted in the case of Lucy.
she was only 25 when she started and seemingly single. would she really be trying to conceive when she'd just finished uni, or even know that she was infertile if she was?

I have been following this case and the thread for a few days and I have found most of the posts enlightening and well put, which is helpful when you don't have a medical background. BUT... at the same time, I have a child with 'invisible' disabilities and conditions and have had so many encounters with medical professionals who are dismissive, rude and downright convinced that she/I am being dramatic that I am horrified by how many people have freely admitted looking up patients online to be 'nosey'. As if we didn't feel we could trust the medical community a lot of the time already, this just astounds me. How dare anyone think that they are entitled to do that? And don't give me that bollocks about only being human - there is no way you can persuade me that looking up patients and their families is ethical or acceptable within that profession. There would be little to find on my social media as I rarely use it anyway, but the idea of someone snooping and laughing at my family when we have come to you for help beggars belief. What a shitty realisation to have come to.
I agree completely.

people still have a reasonable expectation of privacy on social media.

We have reasonable expectation that healthcare professionals are professional and respectful.

oogling someone’s personal socials - during a period of their intense grief and vulnerability - is a total violation of their privacy and beggars belief.

I’m thinking if she did do this then they have more evidence . I’m thinking Google searches . She didn’t seem clever enough to cover her tracks if she is guilty especially stalking the families on Facebook .

like I wonder what Her Google searches are like . What they found in her home . I think so far they are just going through each baby and telling the jury how each one collapsed . I think they have a lot more yet to give

I think some people are getting confused but there hasn’t been any evidence presented in the court yet. Opening statements are the facts of the case.

So the Doctor thinks there’s something suspicious about her. An alarm which could save a babies life doesn’t go off?

but he doesn’t report his thoughts on her not the fact that the machinery may be faulty?

I think the defence will really shock us when they uncover other stats from the hospital with such high levels of negligence and failings. I’m expecting so many more cases that Lucy was nothing to do with, I think we’re gonna be really shocked..

What about babies that died when she wasn't on shift? Have these been looked in to as extensively? Did they decide to look into specific babies after seeing her fb searches? So many questions.

I feel sick to my stomach … I’m not a mum
But my god I would go to the ends of the earth to protect these angels with everything I had.
One thing that is so apparent is opportunity… she may of well had dark thoughts for many years but only got the opportunity at a certain time in her life … her job literally allowed her to carry out her most darkest thoughts and actions like a serial killer with endless helpless victims lying in wait for them. I know it’s so early on but I fully believe she is guilty.

I remember an early mention of a partner, I’ll go off and google….

as for her parents I find it odd they’re holding hands going in and out of court everyday, I bet they’ve been told to do that.
i feel really bad for her parents, that's their only child and they were proud of her. They'll have had no idea and been as manipulated as everyone else.

You mean their ADULT DAUGHTER.

I’m sure they needs lots of support but holding hands going in and out of court for six months? No that's not contrived at all 🙄

More like they’ve been told to hold hands to make them look like a loving family who couldn’t raise an evil daughter. All part of helping Lucy look better and I don’t care for the aesthetics behind it.
i think you might be reading a tiny bit too much into it - i’m one of my parents’ adult daughters. i would absolutely expect them to hold hands walking into court in this situation: it’s a show of support for each other rather than a kind of manipulation to us all over their daughter. admittedly some people are just big hand holders in general too. i don’t know how much guilt it’s fair to assign to them at this point either.

the flip side could also be correct obviously, and i don’t doubt that there’s some kind of manipulation in other aspects but i think her parents holding hands is simply what it’s presented as.

On the contrary aren’t people with high functioning autism usually quite black&white in their thinking? There is rarely room for conniving or manipulative behaviour. An awful lot of autistic people are incapable of lying, many others are incapable of maintaining or covering up a lie. Isn’t it possible that she’s just plain evil?
As someone with autistic relatives oh yes they can and do lie!

Child H had periods of collapse and was quite unwell it sounds like but because they could be explained further collapses that couldn’t be explained were attempted murder?
The defence will rip this apart.
Even if she is guilty it’s going to be difficult to prove

If she is guilty and after reading what child I went through and suffered through, I can’t even describe what I would do to her because I would be banned, that poor little girl fought so hard to live.

She did though, I read that she called in doctors saying things like 'he's going', telling other colleagues a baby 'looked rubbish in the morning' and then deteriorated quickly. It sounds like a mixture of God complex and Munchausens
I disagree. I had the misfortune to work on a case with a maunchausens sufferer some years ago. They were totally unaware of their diagnosis and it was deemed that it was safer for them that they didn’t know. This person had a habit of seeking medical attention and had been through some pretty traumatic medical procedures to do so. I had to research pretty thoroughly to defend the case and it was mind blowing. The defendant with maunchausens had a bundle of redacted papers that amounted to 13 pages. My bundle of unredacted pages was 300+. I’m convinced there is no maunchausens at play here
