Just listen to the podcast, is it just me or is it bloody weird that an adult would buy themselves a birthday card to send to themselves from their cats?? Or maybe mum and dad sent it to her
i wonder if she took a photo of that card too
It makes me think there’s something to the theory that she couldn’t have children, the only person I know who does this openly says her dogs are her replacement babies because she can’t have children and it’s the only way she’ll get a mum card any time soon. (She is lovely and otherwise not like LL in the slightest).

It has been said on many threads she was both an IVF baby and that she was infertile.
Again that’s just the madness of social media. It could quite easily be utter rubbish.

Nooooo I was having a joke, I guess if you hadn't ignored her you'd see 🙈🙈

Get her unignored, see another way of thinking, you don't have to agree but it's interesting to see how we all take different things from the small amount of information we get from the reports.
I realise I'm a random bloke who doesn't participate much so this might be a bit weird, but I've been following the threads from early on and seen all of the erm.... DISAGREEMENTS that have occurred.

So I just want to throw out there - I think it's extremely important to have voices like Ava in here. Because she nitpicks, she asks questions, she asks for clarification on random details. She basically does what a defence attorney does.

I fully understand why that rattles people, but it's important. If someone is accused of murder then it better stand up to scrutiny. You want every question asked, every scenario explored.

I agree with this, otherwise the thread turns into an echo chamber. It’s good to have a variety of well thought out opinions.

I can't get on board with the infertile theory. She was 25, been qualified since like 21? Lived in student then hospital accommodation, children probably never seriously crossed her mind at all.
She wouldn't have been able to get pets until she got her own place so was probably just really happy to have them. I have a friend who recently started wfh after giving up nursing and finally got a dog after wanting one for 10yr.

Just caught up.as I've been really busy lately. One thing that really is worrying about the reddit posts and elsewhere is the amount normalizing taking home documents. If its that common all notes and handover need to be electronic rather than hand written. The budget for that is another story. Between that and the admittance by some online of looking up patients on social media makes me so uneasy.

What's your take on the case? It would be great to get the perspective of a chap 🙂

(Also I apologise if I've ever knocked you sick talking about my saggy bits or deceased tina, I forget men exist here 😂😂🙈🙈)

Thank you, that was a lovely message to come and read.

Can anyone tell me, how soon after she was redeployed did the unit get downgraded? It’s just that that seems to be a point that the NG crowd bring up when it’s mentioned that the collapses stopped when she left the unit. Surely some time must have elapsed, or did they stop accepting more dependent babies as soon as they acknowledged the amount of adverse events leading up to the independent review?

I don’t think Lucy was showing signs of detachment from the deaths and leaving it at work given the Facebook searches of parents who, in her own words, were on her mind. She also felt the need to write a reminder in her personal diary.

there is a 2015 diary by the way. Not sure why it’s not been reported, maybe doesn’t have anything significant in it. But they showed an ‘ash house’ entry for June 2015 which was when she moved in. Diary looked like a boofy one again. And there were two LD entries on 3 and 4 June I think but it just says LD, no initials.

Oh it was reported when they read out agreed interviews that she confirmed ‘diaries’ plural.

Tofino you are also talking about deaths that happened 7+ years ago. She was searching the parents immediately after the deaths. I would have to say that there is something quite normal about her not being overtly emotional when talking about the deaths of patients that happened so long ago. . I would be curious to know if anyone else giving evidence in the case (other physicians or healthcare staff) became emotional when talking about the deceased babies?

She was searching parents on the anniversaries too, some of whom she had only met briefly. She only stopped searching people just before she got arrested.

Not sure what the other professionals have to do with it, they are not the ones on trial listening day in day out, they are not the ones that witnessed all 22 sudden unexpected collapses. They are not the ones that were there for all seven deaths. They were not there listening to the parents (who were on her mind enough previously to invade their privacy) giving evidence about how they lost their precious babies.

But as it happens, yes a number of professionals have been reported to cry whilst giving their evidence.

Yes, and have even turned to apologise to the parents for not looking into it more. A lot of the other members of staff were devastated by all these deaths. Not so much Letby though...

Sorry but there's nothing 'normal' about this.

Yes, she could be immune to emotion due to how long ago it was but she weren't so immune when Dr Noname gave evidence.

She remained unemotional when listening to the evidence of parents and staff who were becoming emotional, sometimes very upset.
Parents she was supposedly so concerned about that she fb searched repeatedly, and staff who had been her colleagues (and sometimes supposed friends) for years.
I don’t find that particularly normal.

She was searching the families on significant dates and anniversaries and I guarantee even if she hadn’t been caught those families would still be on her Facebook searches. If we’re using that logic that those children died 7 years ago so it’s fine to be unbothered then she can shut the duck up about her PTSD as well, she got arrested 5 years ago

Very soon. Mid July I think.
They started accepting babies from 32 weeks and up as the unit was now level 1, this meant they also lost their 3 ICU cots.
Bearing in mind that a lot of the babies in the case were 32 weeks or over and didn’t require ICU before they ‘collapsed’ I’m not sure that it has as much relevance as some choose to believe.

Happy Bank holiday beautiful people 💜
What days are court sitting this week does anyone know please? Thanks ☺
Thursday and Friday. We’re getting a bit of a rest!

This is probably a pretty big question to put out there, many of you have tried to answer this and I've trawled through Reddit too but I still cannot fathom why she did this. I looked through her Wikipedia history and it looks like she did a lot for raising money for charity, did interviews and was at the hospital for several years before the attacks started and I just cannot understand why she murdered these babies. I tried to look at her family history (as this can sometimes tell a lot) but I can't find anything. I'm a training psychologist so maybe that's why I'm asking myself these questions, and maybe we will never know the answer, but I'm honestly dumfounded as to why someone would do something so inhumane.
