Hello! I’ve got pages and pages to catch up on. I’ve been a bit busy today, at the crown court!!

They weren’t going to let me in but I said ‘don’t you know who I am? I’m Tofino. The creator of THE almighty wiki.’ And they let me in!!

haha joking, I was actually pleasantly surprised how un-busy it was. The overspill room was only two thirds full so unless everyone on this thread tries to go on the same day then I don’t think anyone wanting to go will have any issues getting in.

I picked a great day to go as the medical evidence and events surrounding the collapses are the most important for me. I knew they were starting on baby A but because I went expecting not to get in I didn’t think ahead about which babies I would hear about.
So I am so pleased I heard babies A-E and some of F.

I’ll try and catch up on the thread after putting my son to bed. And give you some more of my thoughts if you want to hear any!

Nooooo I was having a joke, I guess if you hadn't ignored her you'd see 🙈🙈

Get her unignored, see another way of thinking, you don't have to agree but it's interesting to see how we all take different things from the small amount of information we get from the reports.
I realise I'm a random bloke who doesn't participate much so this might be a bit weird, but I've been following the threads from early on and seen all of the erm.... DISAGREEMENTS that have occurred.

So I just want to throw out there - I think it's extremely important to have voices like Ava in here. Because she nitpicks, she asks questions, she asks for clarification on random details. She basically does what a defence attorney does.

I fully understand why that rattles people, but it's important. If someone is accused of murder then it better stand up to scrutiny. You want every question asked, every scenario explored.

She told baby Es mum the blood was irritation from the tube. But the mums instincts told her to be worried and she called the dad. It isn’t just a case of mum’s timings are wrong - letby is saying none of that happened. That is utterly inconceivable. It’s also totally inconceivable that a new mother due to give their milk for 9pm turns up past 10pm. Absolute nonsense. When baby E’s mum gave her statement, she described how expressing milk felt like the only thing she could do for them. I remember shedding a tear as I related so much. I believe every word she said.

If baby E’s mum is in that room listening to her essentially say that mum didn’t bring breast milk at the time she was supposed to and has literally made up her son being so so distressed and blood around it’s mouth and being told to leave. Honestly that poor poor woman. I would have to be removed I think.

Cant remember sweet fuck all most of the time, but can remember that a 1ml difference that she wrote almost 8 years ago is a typo.

I wonder if Baby E mother is in court today, if I was her I would need held back.
Poor woman been made out to be a liar, it’s not something you would forget
Agree.

This probably sound weird, but the absolute admiration and respect I have for these parents is off the charts.

Not only to experience what was probably a traumatic end of your pregnancy and labour, then having your baby require NICU, the horrific loss of your baby and to top the whole thing off, being taken through a course case years later to determine if it was an attack or murder.

I admire every single parent and member of their families. I don't think I could even begin to cope with that journey.

Wait, have the same jury been there for 6 months? I did jury service back in December. Thats a crazy amout of time!!
No they swap them out and in every other day so no-one has to listen to more than 1 day of evidence each week. It’s fairer that way, and it makes it much more exciting. There’s actually 150 people on the jury in total. Once the two sides have made their closing arguments they will leave the 150 jurors in a room together and the last 15 people out alive will get to decide the verdict.

I think she’s guilty. I’ve never really joined in on these threads before but have dipped in and out. She’s have no concrete evidence to explain why she is innocent. It’s all been a load of poor me hasn’t it?

For people saying did she think she’d never get caught/go to prison etc. well here’s my take.

You know when you get intrusive thoughts like “I could just steer my car to the left and cause a massive accident” while on the motorway, or when you’re carrying a baby down the stairs you suddenly think “I could just throw this baby right now” (OMG please tell me you’ve had these horrible thoughts too and I’m not a fucking psycho like LL - for what it’s worth I’ve obviously never acted on such a thought 🤣) but I think thats what started all this. I think an intrusive thought “I could kill this baby right now if I wanted to” and I think it became a compulsion. I think every time she thought “I won’t do it again, I’ll never get found out cus it was just once/just did it twice, they can’t trace it back to me” etc. but she couldn’t stop giving in to that compulsion (like an alcoholic saying it’s only one drink I can just have one drink), she did it again and again and again and thought she’d get away with hiding behind the fact that these were “poorly babies”.

I think it was a bad move on the defence to let her talk. She's lying. It's bloody obvious, I was so open minded, but now I'm not.

Hummingbird is the nickname I give my son and I hated that it was linked to this fucker Letby but my hubby said to think of it as being associated with the babies.

So he's still my little Hummingbird 😍

What I see is that in June 2015 we see the start of a 60 day period where 6 children are allegedly attacked. 4 of these babies die unexpectedly. So that’s a years worth of deaths in 60 days, there’s talk of LL being on a bad run and at the very end of this 60 day period a child is found to have synthetic insulin in its system when it definitely shouldn’t be there. So she’s on shift for all these deaths/incidents people are talking and raising concerns, then the insulin results come in, all the suspicions are confirmed and now have weight so how on earth did it get swept under the rug?

But let’s say for argument sake I accept the blind eye being turned at the insulin point. How on earth can it carry on for another 8 months? There are still another 16 incidents that happen after that, how is nobody connecting dots, I just think if people genuinely thought she was sus at any point they’d have to have been talking amongst themselves about keeping there eye on her to some degree, I think a neo natal nurse will most likely enjoy there work and see it as much more than a pay cheque, relatively speaking against other professions anyway so,I’d expect them to care about there work and I’m sure a big rise in deaths wouldn’t be something that anybody would be able to shake off without having some questions. maybe I’m naive but I really find it hard to see how there wasn’t anybody fighting to find out what was happening to these babies, the only logical explanation to me is that they were all very aware of how poor the care was there, probably a lot of poor practice and everybody thought the rise in deaths was due to the poor conditions at the hospital.

I understand that this also gives pretty good cover for her to operate, I just don’t think the evidence is good enough to extinguish the doubt surrounding the sun-optimal care amongst other issue I have
There were people fighting to find out what was happening though!

Their names were Dr Gibbs, Dr Jayaram, Dr Brearey. Dr Gibbs even got another consultant from LWH in Feb 2016 to also review the cases he had concerns about. He was continually brushed off by senior staff.

He's also really rammed home just how poor the care was for this baby too. Lack of fluids, delay in getting the line in correctly.

A minute or two is a loonnnnggg time - and I'm presuming you'd have to be there, pushing the air in for all that time?

Nope, just a few seconds. Empty syringe, connect to the adaptor, squirt in some air, done. You’re making a bubble that goes into the heart that the heart then can’t pump out, meaning the blood then can’t go round.

Could be done in maybe 20 seconds. She’s then got a minute or two of lag.

Why would Mum lie? She would gain absolutely nothing and lose the ability to get any answers about the death of her precious baby.

We knew it was coming though, we absolutely knew she'd blame everyone but herself, she'd say she forgot or they'd just skirt over it. It doesn't make it any easier to stomach though.

I could cry for E’s Mam😭why would any mother make this up? I think most of us can agree you’d want answers if it was your child and making stuff up wouldn’t give you answers. Horrendous.

Just to point out I don't trust Dr Ravi Jayaram, he has an agent , he's an aspiring TV doctor he did a show about ADHD but his specialty is respiratory medicine in peads. The conditions he was talking about ADHD , Autism are diagnosed and treated by CAMHs pyschatrists and psychologists. He's doing a talk for ADHD again but I can't find any peer reviewed journals he's written about the subject. Hes not an expert and that should be a given if hes doing talks and tv shows. The one who is the expert is not really on social media (multiple peer reviewed journals and research ) isn't invited on telly or for talks? He's probably too busy with the enormous case load.
I still think Lucy Letby is a murderer btw I've stumbled upon this information today which had made me think. I wonder will BM cross examine Dr Jayaram? I really hope the prosecution have looked him properly before putting him on the stand to testify.
He’s testified as a witness because he was actually there! He’s been cross examined loads already and held his own very well. His TV career has absolutely nothing to do with the case or the validity of his statements. It aired in May 2015 and was probably filmed some time before. You might think he’s in the wrong to do it but to suggest that his moral compass is off, after being a pretty excellent doctor and saving multiple kids lives over many decades, just cos he does some telly is a bit harsh. He appears like a very confident person but he is very highly thought of by people that meet him by all accounts. He faced racism on Facebook because he aired anti-brexit views (was told to “go home” when he’s lived here all his life) and lots of parents replied saying what a wonderful doctor he was and had contributed more than most of us to this country!
