Regarding the patient assignment, this is not a rigid rule. When a nurse is tasked with a certain room/patient/ward she/he is not supposed to ignore if a patient assigned to another nurse is needing help and his/her assigned nurse is not available. So, this argument that “she was not supposed to be with Baby C” is totally irrelevant. It sounds like someone failed to attend to the baby’s needs and is passing on the bucket. So far, I haven’t read any article that single out this nurse. And the fact she was working alone in a neonatal unit at any point, it’s simply hospital failure. She has so many arguments to win this case and get a large compensation if it keeps going on like this. They are all in it, up to the gob.
