I don’t know what to think .

she seems to be in a lot of other nurses business when it’s not the child she is allocated . Is that because it’s to obvious to harm the children in her care ? Was Lucy a busy body . You know them kind of staff members that are in everybody’s business and trying to take over everything . Was she over helpful . its A lot to take in this trial and it’s only day 2

I feel for her parents getting papped every day going to court. I can't imagine how they feel. Yes they are supporting their daughter, but they must have doubts about her. I wonder also how locals where she lived think? Imagine a story this big happening in your own small little village. I would love to know what the locals think who have known her since she was a small kid like school friends, neighbours etc.

The insulin in the feed is now confusing me? I have heard of insulin being added to saline fluids in especially small babies.

however they say this was a feed bag? Which I assume if fed by tube into the babies stomach? I always thought insulin couldn’t be taken orally as the stomach acids break it down too far for it to be effective which is why diabetics have to inject insulin into the bloodstream?

People saying ‘the evidence so far is poor’. This is day 2 of a 6 month trial: they’re informing the jury of what’s to come. The next six months each charge will be presented to the jury by the prosecution in detail. With the supporting evidence.

Yes that’s what I thought - I was sure that it is practice that synthetic insulin is diluted into fluids for babies in neo natal with low birth weight etc?

I’m not sure, it’s adults I work with so insulin is just a subcut injection but maybe some posters that work with neonates can clarify.
Did they say if the TPN bags were tested at all? I’m struggling to follow.

They may be possibly called as a witness to explain the discrepancy, could be a genuine mistake I suppose.

What I find sad is that when this court case is all done and the verdicts come in- IF she is found guitly, there will parents who still won't have a clear answer as to whether their baby died at the hands of Lucy or not. There might be reasonable doubt for some, and I find that utterly sad and my heart aches already for those parents and their families.

Baby E’s mum walked in on her baby bleeding with Lucy Letby in what a doctor described as never seeing such a heavy bleed on a tiny baby before. Letby told her ‘I’m a nurse I know what I’m doing’ and told her to go away.

There’s just some really horrifying details today. I’m going to have to pick and choose when I follow this case.

How can they be so sure she vomited due to over feeding?
It's common that preemies suffer with reflux, mine have had reflux and have desaturated and/or stopped breathing due to reflux in the early days. Very curious to see what evidence they have on this one.

Agreed. I'm sat here with my tiny babe in my arms sleeping. It's so hard but I'm invested. I was keeping an open mind but that one statement alone is harrowing. I hope whatever the outcome is it serves justice to those babies and their families.

One was the mum who, the prosecution said, "interrupted the attack" by Letby on Child E.

I can only assume there is different amount of evidence for each charge. They have to present every one, and I’m sure more will come out in due course. Realistically, she only needs to be found guilty of one charge out the 22 she’s facing to still spend her life in prison. It’s unlikely (I think) she would be found guilty on every single one as some evidence may be weaker…I think the prosecution are focusing on the pattern of what happened, and how there is no other alternative.
