The insulin in the feed is now confusing me? I have heard of insulin being added to saline fluids in especially small babies.

however they say this was a feed bag? Which I assume if fed by tube into the babies stomach? I always thought insulin couldn’t be taken orally as the stomach acids break it down too far for it to be effective which is why diabetics have to inject insulin into the bloodstream?
You have to hope that the jury are all following and understanding these things well. When you don’t have a medical background I’d imagine that’s daunting. I am a professional in social care but I would have no idea about these medical aspects.

I think you’d have to included an undecided too. But a poll sounds good. I’m still very undecided and wouldn’t make my final decision till I’ve heard her defence etc. but, it’s grim and not looking good for her so far.
I am concerned she's charged with murdering a child who had no post mortem take place and an expert has said they can't 100% rule out natural causes.

If she is giving her opinion as an expert witness about what would be the cause of death, what would have caused the symptoms and that in her opinion they would have been caused by deliberate means, then her evidence is taken as fact. Stating that she can't rule out natural causes due to a postmortem not being carried out is simply her addressing anything the defence could pick apart. Giving her expert opinion is enough because expert witness are different to bog standard witnesses.

*Caveated by saying I don't know in what capacity this person is speaking as I've only kept up with the case via this thread so I don't know how they were introduced to the court.
But... how can anyone take it as fact, if no PM was done? You can't say either way surely? If prosecution can use it as face despite no PM, surely defence can use no PM?

EXACTLY. 'We the prosecution want you to take this experts word for it despite no PM and despite them saying they can't rule out natural causes.' Baffling

Interestingly, at the end of this part of the interview she asked whether the police had access to the TPN bag that she had connected," Mr Johnson added

Why would she be asking where the used bag was, was it because she was worried they would have definite proof it had been tampered with ??

The defence will 100% use that. i can see her only being convicted of 2 or 3, if that. The evidence is piss poor so far, FB stalking and vague texts mean absolutely nothing.

Maybe? Or maybe to probe she'd done nothing?

sorry if this has been said (can’t keep up) but re the Facebook searches, the thing that would make these incriminating would be if Lucy ONLY searched for the families of the babies she is accused of killing.

If there were other babies who died while she was on shift that she never looked up OR if she looked up other babies who died that she had no contact with, that would seem less suspicious? Like she just had a fascination with looking up those who’d lost children, not those she murdered.

Don’t know if that makes sense.

It is QUOTE poor to be honest. I'm so confused. I'd be absolutely fuming if I was told the prosecution were basically using a 'possibility' as evidence.

I would like to know if she fussed around the parents after the babies had suddenly become seriously ill or passed away.

Did she hop into action and a play kind of angelic nurse role with the families, helping them through their trauma and grief “we couldn’t of coped without you Lucy” kind of thing. Was she doing that and getting a kick out of the feeling she got from it possibly?

Or did she distance herself from them completely.
That’s a super interesting question. Thriving off their attention / being the saviour or did she run off and watch from afar! Intrigued.

(If guilty of course. I’m in camp don’t know)

Speaking of Bev Allitt, wasn't she the one who stayed with friends while under investigation and then (non-fatally) poisoned one of them as well? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else, but if it's her then she had massive red flags even outside of her 'work' life. I'd be interested to know if there are any signs of attention-seeking behaviours in this case too. Anything suspicious outside of work? I struggle with the idea that someone could do something so horrific and not be a walking red flag in their personal life.
She did, it was her friends brother, he was found by chance and survived. She also poured bleach in the poor lads bed.

She also poisoned the family dog (beleive it survived).

I would have thought a lot of what we've heard so far inadmissable. Personally I think it's likely she did it but if this is all they have - their main point is that she was present at every death. This could STILL be argued as circumstantial and could easily be used in a defence arguing she was set up - it's just not good enough. There's no concrete evidence so far, no DNA, no CCTV, no direct admittance. If she gets found not guilty, I would not be surprised. Sounds like the whole hospital and even trust was really corrupt and incompetent, allowing all this to happen.

Nothing is recorded about who kept an eye on child G while their nurse went on an hours break 😳😳😳

Just catching up, this is unfathomable given the mortality rate was surely going up and the adverse incidents/near misses also. This evidence has nearly broken me, that poor baby, and I'm sure the mother must relive that encounter with LL that night. Devastating. I have to say at this stage I'm beginning to wonder if LL will take the stand at all. I'm doubting it.

Unless they have exhumed? Guess we will find out when they actually start presenting evidence.

I don’t find searching for someone you have came into contact on Facebook weird but to search for the family 8 times including on Christmas Day, surely this is a bit unhinged.

I was hoping she wasn’t going to be guilty but with every detail it gets worseView attachment 1642486
Wonder if there is a pattern to those dates. Once a month but why THOSE dates?
