If she is found guilty it can’t be anything other than a whole life tariff.
She won’t hack jail after sentencing. I bet she will kill herself take the easy way out . She’s evil and I think the only reason she is doing this trial is to go down as one of the uks worst killers and put the parents through hell

I have to agree on LL's texts. I can think of two occasions where myself and my colleagues have texted after a shift about what happened: once was a particularly tough shift where there had been a lot of incidents and it was just a 'Hey hope you're okay, keep your head up'. The other was when we found out that one of our former patients had, months after discharge, unfortunately taken their own life. Staff and patients were devastated and it was a really emotional day. Again, the text was along the lines of 'Look after yourself tonight'.

The amount that LL texts about work matters is honestly bizarre. I also didn't realise until I started listening to the Mail podcast that it's often minutes after her shift ends. To me it feels like she's trying to prolong the high of what she's done: she kills or hurts the baby and then texts her colleagues all about to keep the moment fresh.

And just to give people an idea for those that think NICU is a death sentence…

A 24 week prem baby has about a 60% chance of surviving

A 27 week prem baby has about 89%

A 31 week prem baby has about 95%

This is from Tommy’s if anyone wants to look, but it just gives people an idea for those who don’t know much about premature babies. Most of the babies at the countess were 30 weeks+
None of these babies should have died. None of them. Not from the failings, not from it being busy, not from anything. She killed them on purpose.

I think there’s two types of packers..
Me that would go through my entire house with a fine tooth comb and then my sister who would throw everything into a bin liner the day before without sorting a single thing out 😂

I wonder what it's like for the parents of the twins/triplets where only one baby has lived on birthdays/Christmas etc? Does having the other baby make it better or harder? ☹
Harder i'm sure. What gets me with the multiple babies, like the triplets, they probably had 3 car seats and a triple pram. Imagine pushing a baby in a triple pram knowing it should have been full.

Really nothing new in today’s bbc article. Basically the same as what Dan has tweeted today.

And here is Chester standard. Again not much new but some mention of the second bag again.

The court has heard his glucose levels remained low on the day shift of August 5 even after the intravenous line, and a connected bag containing nutrients, needed to be replaced after swelling to Child F’s leg.

Child F’s blood glucose rose to safe levels later that evening after the nutrients were stopped and extra sugar was given independently, the court was told.

Oh confirmation of live reporting tomorrow, yay!

The trial will continue on Tuesday, November 29.

The Standard will be providing live updates throughout the day.

So after yesterday it’s confirmed Baby F was poisoned, the defence didn’t even argue against this.
So let’s say she’s found not guilty, what would happen then would police reopen case as someone harmed this poor baby.
I can’t imagine this to be the case though, I honestly think Baby F has turned this case round for anyone not sure and she will be found guilty and never be freed again.
is it just me, but I keep thinking she will change plea too…

I have been reading and I’m in no doubt that baby F received insulin ‘illegally’.

Where I’m struggling, in regards to LL, is where is the concrete proof that she was the one to administer it through the TPN bag and not anybody else?

Could someone kindly explain that to me.
Well it looks as if she has lied in her notes aswell . the evidence for baby F is strong I don’t think you will get concrete evidence like a photo of her doing it but this is as good as it will get . She is the only one arrested and charged on all babies . They would have looked at all staff not just her

I think part of it was her wanting to be a high flying nurse that swooped in and dealt with emergencies.. She could have just got a fast paced job working in A&E if that was the case though but the fact that she went back and harmed them 3+ times sways me back to her being a cold blooded killer.

Man I wish she hadn't done this. If the babies had died naturally at least as sad and as awful as it is it was inevitable and nothing would of changed it. Nasty nasty woman.
That’s one of the worst things. If they’d died naturally, you could at least try to come to terms with it knowing nothing could have been done.

To know that actually she killed these babies and they should actually be here now must be the most heartbreaking thing. She stole their lives and she stole these babies from their parents.

Seriously, if it does annoy people so much that opinions are being formed before all the evidence (presumably all the defence evidence also) why wouldn’t you come back in April? Everyone has the right to post here but to keep saying you haven’t heard it all (which generally seems to translate as you aren’t finding every way for Letby to be innocent) and get angry just seems a bit pointless 🤷🏻‍♀️ If you’re here, you’re a shit jury member too 💞
Thank you!!! Hate the holier than thou attitude, if you here your "no better" than the rest of us!! 🙄

I am surprised that the insulin levels weren’t investigated given that they were ‘on a bad run’ with the amount of deaths and collapses there has been within a couple of months. Nurses were already commenting it was odd so I would be interested to know what was said once the levels came back unless the nurses weren’t made aware.

I also wonder if Lucy’s texts at Salsa was her waiting for news of his collapse.
without meaning to sound crude, ‘runs’ tend to happen which can be influenced by so much from the weather to the daily fail reporting some BS that makes people stop or change medication/habits. This is pre pandemic anyway. When you think of how many nurses cumulatively cover the unit for 12 hour shifts 7 days a week, they have a huge staff resource and the same day person won’t take over the same night person, x might be off sick so they have agency staff in… I’m being very much generalised here. Once the insulin levels here were known, this incident becomes probably the most serious incident the trust has had for some time. And I do mean that over the deaths that have been discussed - not disrespectfully - but because these were thought to have answers to them at the time, whereas the insulin is a never event.
i can see a very sinister turn In the case today, relating to where people and actions will seem different after the insulin/c-pep levels come to be known - definitely after the next insulin-harmed baby is presented.

Honestly, this place is a perfect example of how toxic a place can be when someone insists they’re the only knowledgeable person around.

I haven't answered your questions because I'm not looking for a debate or discussion on those subjects, I was just reading up from yesterday and didn't understand something.
I asked about the 5 stock bags because there was a point made about there being 5 stock bags at all times, and I haven't seen any evidence around selection of the second bag.

If you'd like me to answer them I could try later when I have more time and brain power.
I hadn’t cottoned on to the second bag thing actually and I did follow live (mostly) yesterday. Life gets in the way sometimes.
I wonder if there have been jury questions not recorded in the transcripts, or is the evidence/discussion just much clearer in court? Maybe there’s a chunk been missed out and that’s why the second bag thing doesn’t seem to make sense?

Psychopaths are often the most ‘normal’ people in the room… hence the disbelief when they come to do their shit, and the delay in getting her suspended.

Even if BM thinks she is guilty unless she has confessed he has a duty of care to represent her to the best of of his ability. That’s his role here.

Sorry I’m a few pages behind so apologies if this has been said, but I think the reason he’s not really cross examining the doctors is because it doesn’t seem to be in dispute that it was deliberate. Clearly that isn’t the defence, in the way the air embolism cases are (each case can and will have a different defence). The defence seems to be that it wasn’t her, in which case professional experts aren’t going to help really, so no point questioning them.

This a complete aside from all the discussion but who pays for BM's services. Will she have to sell her house etc or does the government pay. His charges will be astronomical won't they.
It’ll be legal aid. In murder cases prosecution will instruct the most senior KC’s called Treasury Counsel. They’re handpicked and they prosecute the most serious crimes. Obviously wouldn’t be remotely fair if the defence could only afford a NQ baby lawyer when the crown can instruct the best of the best, you need to have parity for a fair trial so the legal aid will cover her to have a barrister of similar seniority.

Well BM’s cross didn’t exactly set the world on fire did it. I really don’t think he’s anywhere to go on this one. Think today is going to be a major turning point in this trial. And again thanks so much to the two posters (@docmum and @mRsKbRoOkS)that had given us all the info on insulin and peptides etc. made listening to evidence so much easier, when you understand what they’re talking about, and the relevance

Thanks for clearing that up for me.
Doesn’t seem the brightest move to attack a child with insulin knowing that the blood sugar levels would show a problem, maybe it wouldn’t be initially suspicious, but it’s definitely very risky especially when insulin has no business being in the child’s system
I think she did it to take attention off her and her ‘bad run’ because she wasn’t on shift. She didn’t expect the child to survive and then the synthetic insulin level wouldn’t have been discovered.

I thought they might have mentioned the estate agent this week to build a picture later to account for a break in cases. That break comes from the end of November to late February which could fit with the time it takes to complete on the house.
