I still believe LL did cause the death, but I’m wondering if this was an attempt to brush stuff under the carpet so to speak (before they doubted LL).

I still feel for me that it is far too coincidental that all these babies are collapsing after having no prior issues and especially when it’s twins within a short space of time.
completely agree I have no doubts over anything else. Probably a large hospital duck up

Possible/probable motive in my view is she did all this to create some drama. It was “boring” if a shift was a feed every hour or gentle monitoring. She wanted high drama action. She didn’t study nursing just to be stood there doing the odd feed, the odd nappy and updating computer notes.
I find this motive plausible, but I definitely think there’s an element of sadism too, as she goes on some of her methods become far more sadistic, really hurting some physically. I think it maybe a combination of things such as it was too boring, she was an attention seeker, she was jealous and she’s sadistic. I can see all of these being plausible as a combination of them all being part of it, but also as only one or two of them being part of it. Whatever her motive it won’t make sense to us, but obvs will in her sick twisted head, but at least if we had motive we could try and understand and psychological reason for her doing such evil

Totally awful so far today. Ben Myers starts off sympathetic to the parents, only then to suggest their accounts are inaccurate/false. As with every single witness he's done the same, it's like suggesting their facts are wrong is all he's got to go on

These poor parents are having to talk, in front of a Court and the press, about the hardest thing that's ever happened to them. Not impressed with BM at all, realise he's a defence lawyer but it's horrific. I know the parents would have been briefed on this but they did so well to give their accurate accounts and not give BM a piece of mind!
I agree. I can understand him questioning the possibility that the times were mistaken. That feels reasonable for a fair trial. But to suggest a mother’s account of what happened to her baby as not being as horrendous as she said it was just seems cruel.

Completely get that but this is the woman who said she needed time off with her mum and dad after previous babies deaths, is now complaining it’s too quiet?
Surely if you’d experienced some shocking out of the blue deaths of newborn babies, you wouldn’t then be saying it’s too quiet. You’d appreciate that things had calmed down
That’s very true, if I’d just had some awful shifts and needed time off then I would definitely not want any more drama and a quiet shift

Very difficult reading today. Poor parents and poor babies.

Totally cruel. He's not discrediting the prosecution, he's actually trying to discredit the grieving parents who witnessed something that looked dreadful which turned out to be something beyond horrendous. Awful.

Wow wow wow the way Judith has reported what BM said is even worse!!!

This isn’t just querying if she made a mistake with timings.

How does he think this kind of questioning will get the jury on his side!!??

He's doing a truly tit job of being her defence attorney/lawyer. I understand that in all likelihood he knows she's guilty but really!?? This is the best tactic he could come up with!??

for me the lack of PM does cause some doubt. Not sure of a valid explanation other than it was expected but then evidence suggests it wasnt?
See I think this just proves more of the blinding trust the parents had in the medics including ESPECIALLY LL. I’m sure the parents regret not getting it done though, so many things they must be playing over and over again in their heads, what absolute torture for them

I think this is somewhat likely but I can’t wrap my head around it?!?! Like why would being bored at work lead you to do something so utterly evil???? Like I can understand the psychology of her being a sadist or a psychopath but why kill babies just to get a bit of excitement. Just do a sky dive ffs, or get a job at a bigger hospital.
I see your point - but I wouldn't be surprised if LL was tampering with the babies or their equipment long before baby A. Possibly she never meant to kill them, just to create excitement, she started going to far and baby A was her first baby that died.
I've thought LL is guilty from the start of the trial, I live local to COCH and the story has been building for years. I can see it's a lot to take in that a nurse is a SK of tiny babies, many people struggle to see she could be guilty 🙁

How can you complain the NICU is too quiet?! Sorry that is an absolutely odd thing to say
Especially will all the sudden and unexpected deaths they had recently 🧐

Heartbreaking 💔 as a mum you just know a child’s cry and you know when the cry is from pain .
You feel your child's cry in your bones. No one can explain it to someone who has not felt it but I 100% believe this mother.

If there are no other clinical concerns or reasonable alternative explanations then I don’t think a lack of PM will create doubt, it just would have made the case even stronger. And maybe also stopped Lucy sooner because I can’t believe this happened but we are only on Child E.

I’d like to hear possible reasons for such significant unexpected, unknown cause of bleeding (if there are any).

Agree with all of that, interesting to hear that’s what locals have been hearing over the years too. I’ve always thought she’d been doing little bits and pieces long before A to hurt them too, like removing the nasal prongs for a while before putting them back in position, maybe holding feeds back, just little things like that kind of thing. Some that may come out post trial, and some we will probably never hear about. I’m convinced she’s really sadistic, wonder if we will ever hear her back story and see there were always little clues there

I'm starting to wonder if her parents can continue to go there everyday and not have their doubts.

Maybe a lot of what they're hearing is new to them, not what she's told them. What must they be thinking now! They must have doubts by now. I don't think I could continue every day, for 6 months, to listen to it all. Given it's not close to their home as well I wonder where they are staying.

Saying all this, I know serial killers families have often stood by them. Harold Shipman's wife believed he was innocent, although I believe when he was sentenced she started to have her doubts.

Can I ask anyone that would medically know, is there anyway that a feeding tube “could” cause those types of injuries? How on earth were those Injuries and blood loss not picked up by the doctors.

Honestly I feel this is a motive for why she did what she did if found guilty

she constantly mentions how it’s Q and wanting to be in the room that’s got the poorly babies . creepy
I think it’s always about her, like she wants to go into room 1 cos it’ll help her. There’s definitely an element of me me me, in texts and behaviour. But yes she seems to thrive on the drama and attention that these events create. I think she’s very sadistic too though

Also the mum said the blood was dried and smudged on the poor little babe 😪 LL didn’t help him, she didn’t call for help.

And doesn’t that sit at odds with her not helping baby E. So it’s quiet and she’s complaining and then there her (sick) prayers have been answered, she has this baby clearly in distress and bleeding and she’s taking none of that busy action you would expect.

I know some find it hard to believe she’s capable of it but maybe I’m just cynical about the world, I don’t have a hard time believing anyone is capable of these things. There are evil sadistic people among us, they don’t all look or act how we expect them to.

I wish I wasn’t as cynical but sadly I am.

I listened up to baby D and then had to take a break as I'm expecting my own baby who they have said may be premature and it was all making me so paranoid.
On the Facebook group I'm on they're very it's clearly medical negligence, the witnesses are helping defence due to inconsistencies etc but on here it seems very much LL is guilty (which has always been my gut feeling). We're all seeing the same evidence, what's been the clincher for some of you in here for her guilt? (Again, I need to catch up but my gut says guilty).

It does appear that she got a kick out of the attention, the chaos and grief.
I can't get my head around how she could see and feel their grief and feel nothing 😔😔 an absolute psychopath.
