How can you complain the NICU is too quiet?! Sorry that is an absolutely odd thing to say

Possible/probable motive in my view is she did all this to create some drama. It was “boring” if a shift was a feed every hour or gentle monitoring. She wanted high drama action. She didn’t study nursing just to be stood there doing the odd feed, the odd nappy and updating computer notes.
yes I think that is actually what he said. Wonder why this baby went without.

The poor mum giving evidence has broken my heart! The mere thought of hearing your baby cry in the way she described and all the events that follow just don’t bare thinking about!
my question is though, the mum states no other staff members came into the room when she could hear her baby crying and then saw the blood. Is this routine? Would it have just been expected that because LL was in there then there were no problems even if a baby is crying this horrendously?

Does seem weird to complain about it being too quiet, only time I've ever heard a colleague say the Q word it's been swiftly followed by them being sent on a brew round for jinxing the shift, and never complaining but more just observing! It doesn't sound like it had been quiet anyway. On its own not telling but as part of a bigger picture imo it gives some weight to the theory she enjoyed working with the more poorly babies and the 'drama' of it all.
This is what I’m wondering as well. I’m guessing they’ll have classified the death as not unexpected or suspicious as the baby was in NICU and premature, but why I can’t understand.
I’m listening to baby D podcast. I took it that she said the “this is my second baby this has happened to” comment once baby died. It was before. What the duck did she mean? 100% I believe she wants the drama and attention and thrill of all of it. It would fit with this kind of crime, however unthinkable it is.

So she’s saying the ward was quiet even when 21% down on staff, surely then the ward couldn’t have been running too badly? If they’re stood around texting complaining it’s too quiet

These poor parents how awful for them having to relive all this and they sound like they had so much trust in LL.
in terms of complaining about being too quiet I don’t think that’s that odd, I like to be busy at work so if you go from having some really busy shifts to not much happening the time can go really slowly especially on a night shift

for me the lack of PM does cause some doubt. Not sure of a valid explanation other than it was expected but then evidence suggests it wasnt?
I would like to know this too, this morning has been horrific on so many levels. And LL looks more shady/sinister/evil/a monster than ever
in my opinion I should probably add. So was also curious whether anyone else had potentially heard enough this morning to cause them to swing or climb off the fence

I think this is somewhat likely but I can’t wrap my head around it?!?! Like why would being bored at work lead you to do something so utterly evil???? Like I can understand the psychology of her being a sadist or a psychopath but why kill babies just to get a bit of excitement. Just do a sky dive ffs, or get a job at a bigger hospital.
But lots of babies had just died or nearly died? More than their yearly average. I get your point but it’s utterly bizarre to me. Everyone would have been still processing those deaths - hence the review for A being held. To wish it busier when it’s all just been so horrendous (as the friend replied) why on Earth would you want more action.

this motive has absolutely happened in the past though. I know that doesn’t prove it’s happened here but it certainly does and can happen, however senseless and cruel it feels to us.
I still believe LL did cause the death, but I’m wondering if this was an attempt to brush stuff under the carpet so to speak (before they doubted LL).
I still feel for me that it is far too coincidental that all these babies are collapsing after having no prior issues and especially when it’s twins within a short space of time.
Totally awful so far today. Ben Myers starts off sympathetic to the parents, only then to suggest their accounts are inaccurate/false. As with every single witness he's done the same, it's like suggesting their facts are wrong is all he's got to go on
These poor parents are having to talk, in front of a Court and the press, about the hardest thing that's ever happened to them. Not impressed with BM at all, realise he's a defence lawyer but it's horrific. I know the parents would have been briefed on this but they did so well to give their accurate accounts and not give BM a piece of mind!

Completely get that but this is the woman who said she needed time off with her mum and dad after previous babies deaths, is now complaining it’s too quiet?
Surely if you’d experienced some shocking out of the blue deaths of newborn babies, you wouldn’t then be saying it’s too quiet. You’d appreciate that things had calmed down
