I'm curious where the text messages go as we move further along. From how upset she seems at the first few deaths I can't imagine how she coped with more and more happening.

She's aware it's always her shift, people keep mentioning it. So by 6,7,8 I'd be losing my mind. I'd be begging people to be honest with me like...am I tit at my job? Am I actually just really bad at this? Is this happening to anyone else or am I just the most unlucky person here?

I don’t know if it’s just me but my friends would be texting ‘WTF is going on?’ and ‘She was on shift again!?’

Her colleagues sound a bit like they are just saying what they think she wants to hear. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were all texting each other telling one another what she’s been saying since she was always on duty.

Yeah same, I think I’d be asking to move, going to counselling & taking a break & volunteering to do clerical work. I am interested to see what other texts come out & if she is raising any concerns about the hospital or concerns about the many deaths too

Yes when another nurse suggested counselling Woe is me (LL) says she can’t, she just can’t talk about it. I personally just find her behaviour odd either way, although there’s quite a few that don’t so I know I probs am slightly biased, as I cannot see anything but her guilt at this point. But yes if she’s the only one not noticing that something very strange is going on (especially when they all involve her) then it will become quite alarming to me, and you have to question why she has no concerns when others around her (who are not involved) do

Previously there was mention of her taking time off ‘to spend with mum and dad’ after baby D but I don’t know if that’s what they glossed over in the reporting today.

One of her colleagues suggested she should maybe see a counsellor, was she starting to behave differently at work, cryiing perhaps? As it seems weird to me someone texting to say you should see a counsellor, was she not coping.
As ultimately all the staff in the unit must have been suffering with the sudden loss of the babies, or was it just Lucy cause she was present or had other sinister feelings of guilt

I thought she was attention seeking for the friend to suggest this, just imo. And surely the actual designated nurses for these babies would be awfully upset too, but LL doesn’t seemed concerned for them, only herself
“or was it just Lucy cause she was present or had other sinister feelings of guilt”
This would be my take on it too😩

She said she was ‘off’ after Baby C and her colleague said she couldn’t say anything to help her so she must have been upset at work then too.

Wonder is that why there was a gap until Child E in august, although I’m sure if the prosecution can present a theory for the gap they will. Whether that be time off, or having to wait a while to take the heat off

She wrote “I killed them ON PURPOSE” I think on purpose can’t really be misinterpreted as accidental?
This!! The word purpose, in my opinion, totally disregards any accidental element.

Sorry, I can see others have also said the same. I'm just catching up on the thread.

Was this by text though, so the colleague didn’t necessarily see her at work upset, which is why I thought it would maybe be more likely the colleague only really knew she was upset from what LL was texting her about how awful it all was, as in she was attention seeking by telling the colleague this, rather than the colleague seeing it herself. If that makes sense?

They were texting the next morning taking about the night before when they had worked together and Letby apologised for being a bit off then the other nurse said I couldn’t say anything to help you.

I’m wondering if the prosecution will give any detail about this gap, like no other collapses. I wonder what kind of messages were being shared with colleagues during this period. Or if they will just move straight to child E.

Didn't she text the colleague and say she was going on a break? Might explain the gap until August.

Yes I thought this too, time off with her parents I think? I know there’s something about her being away to Ibiza too and a gap, but I’ve a feeling that’s for babies much further down the line. I’d say the prosecution will definitely try and show a gap coinciding with her time off if there is one. And equally if the defence can show there were still incidents while she off I’m sure they’ll present them too

Sorry but this message really stands out to me, the nurse saying LL should go for counselling, but LL now can’t talk about it, even though she obvs has said enough about it for the nurse to suggest counselling. For me another 🚩
Red flag for me too. She knows a councillor/psych would know there is something not right with her story.

So she can’t talk about it to a counsellor (trained in helping with things like this) but seems quite happy to text the colleague about it and is talking about it to her, and still it’s all about her. I’m sure the other designated nurses (the ones who were actually designated the babies) will also be upset at losing their baby, but no mention of anyone other than herself, and how dedicated she is 🙄. But then the actual designated strangely haven’t been involved in all 4 deaths/collapses have they, only poor Lucy has🤔
