The only way they’d have kept her after a police interview in a case as big as this is if she admitted it. The release after her interview means absolutely nothing in regards to whether her interview “harmed” her or not.
What are you referring to? The police can only hold her for so long anyway without going to court to app for more time.

Until anyone is charged they are released. How do we know she was kept hold of after an interview had finished with her?

Am I right in thinking that while she was supposed to be caring for another baby in her room, she was whatsapping for 1hr12m to a colleague bleating on about lack of team spirit.

A message sent to Letby on June 13, at 9.48pm, says: "You ok? x
The text message conversation, on Whatsapp, concludes at about 11pm

I can't imagine any job where you can can whatsapp for this long and not have it affect your work. Is it normal for medics to do this? My husband is a copper and hardly gets 5 mins to go to the toilet. I do an office job and hardly get time to have lunch - why does she have so much time when on duty in a neo natal ward??

Letby added, in the message to her mum: "He only weighted 800g...new girl was looking after him, she is devastated."

New girl was looking after baby C but we know that letby was the only person in that room from her SECOND interview when child c collapsed? Seems like another go at quickly deflecting blame!

Someone else wrote a comment about not thinking the bits from the police interview that was reported yesterday “harmed” her defence (many others thought the interview was quite damning) as they said if that was the case, the police wouldn’t have released her at the time.
So my response was that unless she confessed during police interview they wouldn’t have charged her with a case as big as this. So the fact that they released her after her interview doesn’t mean she didn’t “harm” her own defence with her answers at the time.
I think the original poster was trying to say because she was released after each interview the police can’t have thought she was guilty/said anything that alluded to guilt. Which I was saying isn’t the case. I hope I’ve explained that okay? It makes sense in my head 🤣

Edited to add - she wasn’t held after interview that was the point of the original poster which they took that to mean her interviews never suggested guilt otherwise the police would have just charged her there & then. I was trying to explain she still could have alluded to guilt but the only way they’d have charged her straight after interview would have been if she admitted it. - that might explain myself better haha

The colleague said “it does happen to these babies unfortunately”
I think there was a lot of uproar when LL had said something similar in a text before so maybe it’s just how they spoke of deaths on this unit?!

She’s also the one that seems to bring up the subject of the babies all the time, she texts other people to inform them of the deaths too which I find a bit off. Like she has to be the one to tell people.

I'd hate to see what you guys thought about my work texts/chats to my colleagues. We constantly moan to each other in similar styles to what we're seeing here. I just don't see it as sinister. If she's innocent, it looks like perfectly normal texts to me - what am I missing?!
You're missing confirmation bias

Does appear like she likes the attention..
She really doesn’t get that everyone she worked with was going through the same. She is coming across desperate for them to console her and tell her what a good job she's doing and that they are proud of her but that's not their place as colleagues to do so, especially not when they are going through the exact same thing. She's definitely emotionally stunted.

I would be so pissed off working with someone like that, nevermind having them texting you ontop of that 🙄

Yes, it comes across as very needy behaviour.
Also, having to be the one to tell people and message people on what I assume is their day off. Normal texts back and forth to colleagues is normal for sure, but to discuss patients like this doesn’t seem normal. I’d be worried about my colleagues if I got texts like this all the time.

Aee people on here aware that this is the prosecution case and as such only things that form their case are being brought up. I'd lay money there are thousands of other texts between other members of staff that are similar.

To me the texts don’t ring huge alarm bells to me so far ( please don’t throw tomatoes at me) … if the texts were labeled nurse A and nurse B I don’t think I would pick any incriminating behaviour so far …
This view may change the more I see …

I don’t think we’ve heard it from the agreed facts.

Editing to add re texts reported above.

It’s interesting to me because these texts in isolation make her look caring and concerned (I’m not saying she is) which really shows how seeing things out of context don’t always give the full picture.
I haven't seen her being supportive to other colleagues/asking if they're OK? It all seems very much "me me me" from what we've seen? Maybe me reading too much into it...but just seems odd?

I’m also a bit unsure of the texts. I agree with the attention side of things & her being the one appearing to bring up the deaths/contacting colleagues etc but then as someone else said, if I read them stand alone I’m not sure I’d think “sinister” straight away. Although I’m in the Guilty camp & im still trying to look at things without bias

I think she wanted them to rally around her but why would they? There was a whole team fighting to save each baby so I can’t see why any sympathy should go to her.
This ......its really p*ssing me off...cos, even if she's innocent, she's very self centred !

That could be because it's the prosecutions case though - so they're hardly going to show (if) the texts from her that appear concerned, worried, distraught about the situation. They'll be cherry picked.
