Sorry sorry had to just jump to the end of the threads to say my piece. So about last nights episode...why was everyone bigging up Aaron? His turn off was very natural and normal arm hair?? And the day before he said he wanted a housewife type and wanted kids and was intimidated by independent, career driven women? I'm sorry but how are we just glazing over that??? Everything I wanted to say about Faye and Sharon has already been said so we don't need to re-hash that one. I like Chloe, I'll say it. She seems more chill now than when she first came in. Bit awkward that all the lads would get with her but she clearly isn't in to any of them. However, this is something I saw on Twitter about the argument thing, Faye has said she likes someone with perfect teeth and all the lads go on about 'blondes, blondes, blondes' but Hugo can't say he doesn't like 'fake'?

I have small boobs and aside the obvious perks - I have no real need to wear a bra although I choose to, I can run freely and feel no pain, I have no weight on my chest or back pain etc - it is really painful. Society is pushing an ideal that is the opposite of how my body looks, and I’ve always felt… less? Not good enough, not ‘womanly’ enough, just lacking. Don’t get me wrong, I love being skinny and slender and having a small waist. I have a nice bum and legs so I’m not totally screwed, but it definitely does make me feel really bad about myself and I have toyed with the idea of getting them done for the longest time. It’s something girls have used against me - just nasty teenager Mean Girls stuff - and also men once or twice. I look at the girls in Love Island and for someone who’s as in as much pain as I am about my body, it does hurt me to see girls with massive boobs because it kind of rubs salt in a wound?

In the same breath, I would hate to think I can’t be loved for just being my natural self, small boobs and all. I think it’s because of the pornography and things that men have such an obsession with a certain look. I’m torn between conforming and changing myself into something “sexier” to be more “likeable” and “widely accepted”, and I’m leaning more towards thinking nah, you can do one? I will not change and I’ll stand in my authenticity. Surely that’s more beautiful, to bravely stand there as yourself, imperfections and all? I would hate to think - I do hate to think - that I can’t accept myself as I am because our (mostly unconscious) preoccupation as women to be/fulfil male expectations and perform and perceive ourselves from/for the male gaze.

It sounds very much like you’d be doing it because of some nasty comments you’ve had in the past and all I can say to that is why put yourself through the pain of surgery for the approval of people who don’t even have any basic kindness and manners?

any man who wouldn’t want you because of your boobs is not a man who’s worth your time of day. You’re lovely just the way you are

Wrote this in the first thread but still think it…I was watching thinking I hope all this normalisation of fillers/boob jobs etc. has disappeared by the time my daughter grows up. It’s sad that not 1 woman in there is completely natural (I’m talking hair extensions too). What have we done as a society where a woman can’t or won’t present herself without some adjustment to their looks?

I'm sorry, but am I the only one who doesn't see anything special in Chloe? She's a fine looking girl, but not much else from what's been shown so far. Maybe it's due to editing, but I haven't seen her chatting much to any of the guys, and I honestly think the only reason everyone chose her to couple up with in the game is that she's in a friendship couple, so writing her name doesn't mean stepping on anyone's toes.
Also, when they were preparing for the game and Hugo said he doesn't like fake girls, she commented that she hopes that comes up in the game, as it will rile some people up? To me, that was kind of sneaky

And as a non-native speaker, I must say - Brad might as well speak Latin, I don't understand 99% of what comes out of his mouth.

I completely agree. When they showed her in the beach hut the morning after she looked absolutely awful.

To be honest, I think most of the girls are quite ugly. I know that’s nasty but I really can’t see it this year. Rachel and Lucinda are both stunning though.

I think to an extent it has but I may be wrong / basing this on my friends etc. I’m 23 and none of my friends have filler surgery etc, I think a lot of people look at the likes of Faye, Katie Price, TOWIE people and acknowledge it’s not a good look. I think people are seeing it’s not necessary and totally okay to love yourself for yourself but maybe I live in a naive world

As far as I recall, Camilla had breast enlargements.

We need more representation of this ^ instead of the lip service all this reality shite offers.

I’d disagree slightly.. I know a ton of girls who have had work ton to varying degrees. My best friend didn’t get a huge amount of filler, it’s subtle. But I still think she looked better before. It wasn’t an improvement IMO. Equally I’ve seen a ton of celebs with filler and there’s just no getting away from the telltell puckered type of look that comes from having filler, no matter how subtle it is.

Boob implants can look fine... The best boob job I ever saw was a girl who was very literally flat chested. It wasn’t even about having big boobs, she just wanted to have a feminine frame and be able to wear strappy tops. I think she only went to a B or C cup.

I know a girl whose parents spent a small fortune on implants for her. She flew to America to have them done by a well regarded surgeon. They don’t look unnatural at all, but when you know she’s had a boob job you can’t help but notice. Primarily because they don’t quite suit her frame.

Off topic but, I have to say I agree with Hugo. Most women look their best without work in my opinion. I’m maybe in the minority of course and it’s only my opinion but feeling happy about yourself, not being too wrapped up in your looks, tends to make you more attractive in my experience.

As far as I recall, Camilla had breast enlargements.
My point was that she was attractive and well regarded because of her personality, because she was interesting. Not because of her looks or implants that she may or may not have had

That 'fake' (I'll say fake because that IS the look ) aesthetic has already gone out of fashion. It's starting to look very dated. Over time shorter hair has become more on trend, curvy or athletic bodies, natural lips or at least more natural looking lips are all more the desired look. More natural make up styles. It's heading in a better direction.

I think we all like different things and that is what makes the world an interesting place. Some people like blonde/brunette/black/ginger/grey/bald hair, some like perfectly toned/a little softer/larger body frames, some like tall/short, some like glasses, some like fair/dark skin, some like intelligent/ditzy, some like to be spoiled, some like to be independent etc, etc... I don't think it's very fair from some people to dictate what it's ok to like and what it's not.

It's ok to say I don't find X attractive - we can't all fancy the same person.

Love Island is pushing one type of person as being the aspiration.

I've said it on previous threads but I think the show would be so much better if the cast were more varied and more representative.
I really think they missed a trick this year because the time is right for it.

I'm actually really bored of seeing the perfect bodies on there, who just want to become Influencers.

Is it just me or does Rachel look like a completely different woman than the one who walked in? I don’t think she’s looked how she did on her first night ever again.

Yeah I wonder if they get their hair and makeup done for entry and then have to do it themselves the rest of the time hence her looking totally different?

Imma say it but what makes me laugh about fake lips and bums is that black women have these naturally and were mocked for decades about it and now its in fashion but not on black women?

Make it make sense
