it was a few years back but it still makes me lol. Me and my friend take the piss every Xmas since saying we’re getting each other a paving slab for Xmas
Wow! Saying they like it is generally just polite, not oh please make me on.

Does anyone remember when she made all her family paving slabs for Xmas? Literally painted a bleeping paving slab.
That's mean and stingy, not frugal! Imagine how her family members who spent money on gifts for her must have felt about their broken paving slabs. 😳

Is this it? 🤣
Their garden is atrocious. There are some low budget garden makeovers which look great but the whole car Tyres, broken slabs etc look horrible. What do you think of that thrifty Clair? Think they are both pals

I cannot stand Clair. She’s so unbelievably smug that she makes braggy Lisa look humble. I hate the photos she posts of her struggle meals. The portions are tiny. She’s always boasting about how she stretches two sausages and half a carrot to make six meals. Her husband works in fitness, I don’t see how he can survive on those meagre rations.

She has clearly been reading the emma drew thread on here
I know that I'm going to be criticised for this, but YOLO. Maybe I am being unfair and it is wrong for me to have these thoughts and feelings, but it has wound me up that Lisa is receiving access to these services when she's too bleeping tight to spend money on food that isn't instant noodles.

I know people who have been waiting over a year for access to CBT on the NHS. When I have wanted access to a physiotherapist, therapist, dietician, Slimming World, gym - you name it - I've paid for it myself.

It strings knowing that she's sitting on £20k and using services that I think could be better used by someone who actually genuinely needs help.

I've always tried to pay my way too. The NHS is struggling enough

I agree with this!

I'm a full time student with just a student loan to manage on but I'm paying for a private therapist. I'm trying to be better with money but I know what I'm doing now is helping myself it's investment in my future.

I couldn't sit there with 20k in the bank and take up a space on an NHS waiting list knowing there are people in more need.

However it's just a show of priority isn't it, these people just love to prioritize the money in the bank and showing it off rather than looking at the other things that could impact the money earning potential in the future like weight or past trauma and the implications.

Has she ever actually had a job? She’s gone from course to course, she lives of her wife and student loan and is still expecting someone else to foot her bill.

She’s large because on her own doing, it’s not a medical cause therefore she should be something by this put herself. She’s got the cash to do so, no doubt she would expect the NHS to find fertility treatment or lose skin should she need it.

She's not had a full-time job yet, as far as I'm aware. She does odd jobs; couple of hours as a research assistant here and there and last year she worked part-time at the same shop as her wife, but certainly no career.

I'm curious to see where her PhD in Gender Studies takes her. I studied for years, but had a full-time job in academia to pay for it all (no student loans in my home country 😣). My husband went back to uni a few years ago to do a full-time MSc and juggled it with his full-time job as an asset manager. Lisa is going to graduate in her (mid?) 30s with little work experience.

I’m very interested too. I know someone who did masters woman studies, never had a job in that field.

I have a degree and I’d love to go and do another one specifying in my art but I would never ask my husband to support me even though I know he would in a heart beat. Most people I know with master degrees tend to teach the subject not actually work in it.

If Lisa is planning on teaching, it's a good job that she's used to living thrifty. 😂 I did it for 6 years and have never worked more for such little money. I miss my students and research, but am so glad that I fell into corporate.

Wouldn't be surprised if Lisa ends up doing a post-doc fellowship or enrols in another degree after she graduates - as others have mentioned she doesn't want seem to be following a particular career path.

I hope that her and her wife never split up. Her wife seems to cover a disproportionate amount of the bills so that Lisa can concentrate on her degree - which just seems outrageous now knowing that Lisa has managed to amass such a huge amount of savings.

She mentioned yesterday (I think it was yesterday?) that she is losing weight as she's not eligible for NHS fertility treatment or private

Just imagine when the dietician, or whoever she’s referred to, asks her to keep a food diary...! Not sure instant noodles will cut it, somehow.
