It’s the drug charge being withdrawn has me thinking that.
Withdrawn or unproven? I still don't understand where that particular part came from. Not excusing him of anything but SM is so quick to make tit up these days and it is getting really hard to get any of the facts. Especially when the justice and police system is so fkn useless these days too.

Apparently they could add it later, the toxicology blood tests take a while so it’s not off the table forever, may just be for now.

They are really scraping the bottom of the barrel by trying to get a sense of his character from his mechanic. Also pretty tasteless considering he used his car as a weapon.

When he got arrested for drug driving, after being seen driving at people on a crowded street!
But he wasn't arrested for that... was he? Sorry, not been following the story 100 percent but I can't find a report saying that he was arrested for that. Just media and SM speculation.

I doubt they will even take a plea tomorrow in the magistrates.
I think they will probably adjourn it in any event, they just need to get him into court for his first appearance.

It was the ACC of Merseyside Police who first mentioned he was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs (paraphrasing here). It wIll be on Monday night's press conference.

He was arrested on suspicion of it, according to the police press conference on Tuesday.
Thanks. I'm not a criminal, like probably most people here, so trying to get my head around how the arrested vs charged bit works. Either way, bit irrelevant as so many lives have been changed by his actions, whatever caused them.

Yes he was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and attempted murder. He hasn’t been charged with those though.

I'll try and explain a bit. If they've arrested him for a drug driving offence then he's tested positive on a drug swipe.

He will have had a blood test to confirm these levels. That will take months to come back. If he's under on that they can't charge for it.

They'll always go for the 'highest' charge so one will outrank others if that makes sense. This could mean that some charges are dropped.

Yes I know, no need to explain in detail to me what I summarised in one simple sentence

Yes, you can use it in speech that way. It’s not only a legal definition. Just because someone might die without being charged after killing someone unlawfully, wouldn’t mean they didn’t murder them, or wasn’t a murderer.
Sorry what have I missed? I thought we were talking about legal definitions?
