I've always wondered if people that concoct these sorts of CT's do it because it brings them.some sort of warped comfort. Like, it's more reassuring for them to believe that 'someone was behind it all' rather than admit that randomly horrific tit happens in the world all the time. That one minute you could be enjoying your day out, and the next your seconds from having your life almost snuffed out because some mad twit on drugs has mowed his car through a parade of people.

That's it. The world is so unfair and reality so unpalatable some people prefer to believe in semi-occult stuff like the Illuminati rather than face the fact the chips are stacked against ordinary people. That and they get all their information from their moronic mates FB comments.

The "lovely man" shtick reminds me of the type who say, "Ahh, he's a lovely lad who loves his nan," about some little rat who's been done for terrorising his estate.

Goes without saying that you can have your own business and live in a flashy house, but still be a shifty b.

If they have until today for questioning and to charge the driver, if charged today would his name be released? When is it likely to be today if the extension is until Thursday? The press sounding like damage control for backlash to his family to be fair they didn’t do this to show they are innocent people before kick off at them

Within 96 hours of his arrest....depends if they arrested him straightaway....so approx 6.15pm ish.

Others have pointed out that he may have been treated for injuries....so did the police have to wait and didn't actually arrest him til 10,pm.

Obviously the press know who it is to be interviewing the neighbours and commenting on how his wife found out. It’s always ridiculous when the neighbours say they’re such good guys, respectable family man etc. How tf would they know what he’s really like. It’s a detached house, anything could go on in there and all they see is his best side for the small interactions they have with him. Not the same but I’m sure initial reports of Sara Sharif’s rum bag “father” said he was a hard working family man and his taxi customers were shocked. Totally meaningless in context of what they have done. I suppose it will be somewhat telling of their family dynamic if she sticks by him.

My favourite conspiracy theories from this so far are that it was all planned by the police & the government to force us all into digital ids & a cashless society. These people are on some good drugs !!
Why can they not just accept that a white man has committed an awful crime, badly injured an hell of a lot of people & traumatised possibly thousands more? Like that’s it. And they will get the information on the perpetrator when the police give it to them. The general public are becoming more & more bat tit !!

No my favourite is that he's a Labour councillor or even an MP, and Sir Keith and Yvette Cooper have told the police to stall while they figure out what to say about having another Mike Amesbury / Ricky Jones situation to deal with

That or they know he plans to claim "medical episode" or "out of character panic attack" and walk away, which they know the public won't be happy with having seen the videos of the car turning right into the crowds, so are being extremely precise about the charges in a bid to make sure it's not easy to claim those things.

Don't think it's anything to do with the skin colour stuff that people are desperately trying to reference and stir up one way or the other though.

People can lead completely different lives behind doors to the persona they put on for neighbours/employees/family

He could be perfectly nice to Beryl across the road of a morning but behind his Ray-Bans is a massive come down from the night before

I recently found out an old boss of mine is an alcoholic and had been drinking in his office before driving me to meetings for 3 years. I had no idea and I’m no idiot when it comes to drink/drugs.

It’s easy to hide these things. It is possible this guys wife didn’t know he was like this
