I found out this year that there is a “drug driving limit”

Makes sense because there are a lot of people out there with chronic health conditions- including me! I take painkillers every day. Obviously I’d never drive if I felt drowsy or impaired but if you blood tested me you’d find cocodamol in my system

I read an article this morning in the Fail which mentioned that he's also a tri-athlete. They're really pushing the 'ordinary family man, totally out of character' angle aren't they? Considering what he's done, it's making me feel sick.

He’s not a ‘lovely man’. Lovely men don’t drive their cards into groups of people which include babies and children. Honestly wish the they’d let the fan lynch him, he wouldn’t have been so hard then. Also whatever happened I doubt he’ll be able to live within the vicinity of the city or indeed Merseyside again. They won’t forgets

And he's a "lovely man".
When I was a teenager, my parents had really nice neighbours. They too lived on a middle class estate, very quiet, do anything for you, he owned his own business. All very respectable.

Until it turned out he was responsible for a series of armed robberies across the north of England, which was how they could afford to live on the nice middle class estate.

Yer reckon? Cos last I heard Cashmans missus is still there and running her salon biz. And every one of those POS 'mates' who wouldn't tell a grieving mum what happened to Ashley Dale are still bouncing round with their fish lips.

Completely different kettle of fish. Are they all absolute scumbags? Yes but did they commit the crime? No. Cashman’s bird only gets her own baggy mates going to her as no one in the city likes her and the girls involved with Ashley Dale’s case have gone off the radar. If the murderers involved were to get out they would NEVER step foot back in this city, same way when Sean Mercer is out soon he won’t be able to step foot back in the city, one who helped him tried to come back and he got that much tit round here he hung himself. Our city doesn’t tolerate murderers or anything of the kind and never will, we look after our own.

The "lovely man" shtick reminds me of the type who say, "Ahh, he's a lovely lad who loves his nan," about some little rat who's been done for terrorising his estate.

Goes without saying that you can have your own business and live in a flashy house, but still be a shifty b.

I don’t understand all of the drama around his age. What should a 53 year old man look like or be wearing?
I read an article that came up on Google from a news channel(can't remember which one) that was about the man that was mistaken for the one arrested. He is the one that some people are getting confused about. A blurry pic was shown online and a non blurred photo has been released off the mistaken identity man.

How is it a different kettle of fish. This fellas family haven't committed the crime either. To suggest there's no culture of omerta when terrible things happen is utterly ridiculous. Have you read that heartbreaking interview with Ashley's mum saying none of her friends would tell her anything after it happened. All protecting the low quality fool they get that keeps them in YSL bags. And all the families who got up and lied on the stand. There are shitloads of people with a blind spot about the horrific crimes of violent men so long as they've got a purple wheelie bin.

It seems like you’ve left Liverpool and now think it’s the rum of the earth, these people are scumbags but you’re insinuating that we’d welcome this man back with open arms. What do you want us to do about these people who chose to stay quiet or chose to stick by their partners? My closest friend was murdered here by his 40 odd year old girlfriend when he was 24 years of age, her family (who supported her) have been terrorised none stop for standing by her and tarnishing his name BUT we can’t run them out the city unfortunately. We would never allow someone who’s committed such disgusting crimes to walk our streets so your comments are completely invalid.

And your comment would be valid if I'd anywhere said they were the rum of the earth but sadly words dont morph into what you've decided to see from up on a high horse.

Most of my family and friends are still there. Why would I have some vendetta against the place? holes are everywhere, what I'm criticising is a very specific scouse thing of insisting it gets no criticism. You can't face issues you don't acknowledge. I apologised earlier on this thread for steaming in there when ppl were worried about family and friends, that was a fool move on my part but I've noticed it's never ever the right time for this debate.

I know the case you're talking about there about your friend, I'm really sorry you had to go through that.

My favourite conspiracy theories from this so far are that it was all planned by the police & the government to force us all into digital ids & a cashless society. These people are on some good drugs !!
Why can they not just accept that a white man has committed an awful crime, badly injured an hell of a lot of people & traumatised possibly thousands more? Like that’s it. And they will get the information on the perpetrator when the police give it to them. The general public are becoming more & more bat tit !!

Businesses man also doesn’t mean white collar. Some of the biggest coke users I know run successful businesses - but are typically builders/plumbers/sparks. That could also be because I’m working class in a working class town and those are just the people I know best. Hopefully he’ll be charged today and we’ll learn more

I’ve seen pictures of people drawing on his shoulder to make it look like he was wearing police uniform and had a radio. People will make up any narrative, it’s ludicrous

I've always wondered if people that concoct these sorts of CT's do it because it brings them.some sort of warped comfort. Like, it's more reassuring for them to believe that 'someone was behind it all' rather than admit that randomly horrific tit happens in the world all the time. That one minute you could be enjoying your day out, and the next your seconds from having your life almost snuffed out because some mad twit on drugs has mowed his car through a parade of people.

If he was stoned, could his defense attribute it to impaired thinking and/or concentration? Slower reflexes, etc?
Driving whilst stoned is undefendable.

I can't see weed being his drug of choice, on that day. I think he was on some sort of stimulant drug or he's a sted head.

I agree - it's that or a desire to feel superior to the "sheep" who don't "question the narrative".
