21½ years, of which he'll serve ⅔ in prison, plus being banned from driving (and needing to take a new driving test) for three years afterwards.

Not long enough. Hard to see him surviving that long though, or not getting into further trouble in prison.

The reality is that he'll spend 14 years inside brewing with rage at being in there.

I wouldn't want to meet him on his release. He'll be like a keg of dynamite.

Whilst he’s been on remand he’s been on a VP wing in his cell for 24 hours a day, he’ll be ducked if he bumps into any scousers now he won’t have that protection

The judge did actually give his sentence some reduction due to his guilty plea. Guilty plea entered at the very last moment.
Offering a guilty plea at that stage, should have made no difference to his sentence IMO.

I think the judge has been very thorough and measured to reduce any chance of appeal to the length of the sentence

Totally agree. Even the 10% given is too much

He’s ran red lights the whole way, he’s gone through norris green and then onto the lancs straight into town. The road they showed him speeding down was my old road and it’s already a bad junction without someone like him speeding through red lights, surprised no one got hurt before he got there

What was his take on the guy's personality?
Spoke to my husband, he said that Paul Doyle at work just came across as an average guy, although he did think he might’ve been a bit of a “Sted Head” (using steroids for the gym) and a recreational coke user. That’s not confirmed, just his opinion.

Nothing too much out of the ordinary about him, he was a bit braggy and liked people to think he was hard, but not much different to a lot of males in a group of other males.

Their opinions would’ve been different if they’d known he was lying about his military career. My husband said he gave them the impression that he was a seasoned Marine who’d been on active duty and seen action, which we now know isn’t true!

I wish I could have seen him throughout all of that horrendous information being read out to him. Imagine being told everything that you have caused, I would be inconsolable!
I also feel for his poor wife, I can't imagine how she is feeling for her poor children as well.
What an about f*cking idiot of a man he is. How can you be that angry!

Every victim's injuries are obviously significant, but my mouth dropped open at the story of the Ukrainian lady from the judge. Imagine leaving a country in war, only to get mowed down and forced to have plates in your legs because of some head.
The girl who had been at the Ariana Grande concert that was attacked in Manchester 🥲
