My sex Ed was non existent (I am Russian, andit’s just not allowed to be taught in schools because the government like to pretend that kids don’t have sex under the age of 18You’d be surprised how many women are clueless about these things. I was listening to a podcast where the host talked about her having trouble with conceiving. She and her husband had no idea about ovulation so they were just having unprotected sex here and there. After a year of trying they saw a fertility specialist who told them about the right timing. And boom, they got pregnant on their first try. (This was in Finland btw, where they definitely teach kids about these things in biology.)
I partly blame films and TV shows where all unprotected sex seems to lead to a pregnancy. But even if you don‘t remember these things from school, surely you would look them up when they you start having sex?
Its childish and disrespectful to viewers/listeners who are going through a difficult fertility, if they canr even educate themselves on the basics they should shut up!!Just started listening to their podcast about pregnancy and motherhood, and I think they are not doing themselves any favour talking about certain things as it just show how uneducated they are.
I really cannot understand how two women over 30 talk about ovulation, menstrual cycle and fertility in terms like they are 13. Lily says she didn’t know you’re only fertile a couple of days a month. At one point Anna says (and this is a verbatim quote): “I’ve only learned this through like speaking to you and to friends who were trying, that it’s so much to do with your ovulation cycle which is this kind of mystery thing.” Mystery thing?!? - no Anna, it’s basic biology you learn about at the age of circa 12.
If nothing else, pop culture, even on the level of their interest, is also full of jokey references to couples trying for a baby. Does Anna not remember when Monica and Chandler were ttc and timing her ovulation?!?
They also giggle over things that a 13 year old would no longer find embarrassing and would be totally cool discussing.
After listening to this I will no longer be surprised by any dumb thing these two say or do.
IMO you make a rod for your own back with being deathly quiet when kids/babies are asleep, also things like black out blinds just make things more difficult. We always pressed on with cleaning and all sorts when my son was a baby. He will sleep through anything nowWhy does Lily have to 'quietly type' in her office as it's next to Grey? Surely you could not hear that next door? And if she did, would she not be used to that by now seeing as both her parents use that office? She often says she can't do this or that because Grey is sleeping upstairs or in a different room. IMO, is procrastination. You keep thinking about all these obstacles that stop you from doing well. Just like when I was a student, whenever there is a need to do my coursework/ assignments, I focus on the need to clean instead. She keeps telling herself these crap like carpet is not good, this is loud, the gallery wall is not there to justify why she is so lazy and her content is never up to parWhy does Lily have to 'quietly type' in her office as it's next to Grey? Just wanted to say the same, it seems like they’ve made that rod for their own backs. Surely if your baby can only sleep with blackout blinds, it’s suddenly a nightmare when you stay somewhere else that doesn’t have them? And the sound of typing or cleaning IN A DIFFERENT ROOM surely shouldn’t be so disturbing. I rewatched one of her bedroom makeover videos (I don’t know why, don’t ask) and she said specifically that replacing the carpet was not an option because they had spent so much money on it. So why is it suddenly ab option NOW when she finds that grey carpet doesn’t go with a grey wall in her “office” that will be converted into Grey’s bedroom in a year’s time? None of this makes any sense! And even if you were so bothered by the grey mismatch, why not just repaint??Her latest carpet rant, she says her office has no characters. I think her office is the nicest room among all the rooms in her house. She is going for the beige aesthetic that every interior influencers are doing now. I hate her bedroom, it makes me feel like I am about to throw up (idk weird). I’ll say it. Thank you mom and dad for not doing the black out blinds, noise machines, and continuing to carry on with your day-to-day stuff because when I went to university and had to share a room for the first time in my life (I’m an only child), it was a godsend not waking up every time my student athlete roommate had to go to practice at 5 AM.Just wanted to say the same, it seems like they’ve made that rod for their own backs. When she was like 3 weeks old they 'had to' sit in a dark room with white noise on because else she would not sleep. Or they 'had to' drive around with her. They started very very early with this kind of stuff, and I remember thinking they were really making a rod for their own backs. She now so often says she can't do something downstairs because Grey is sleeping upstairs. And they want to add another baby? Yes!!
