I know it's not the same situation, but after Matthew Perry's passing, I do worry Liam will eventually suffer the same fate. He really needs to get his drug and drink issues under control before it's too late
Feeling very sad that just a year after Matthew Perry’s death, this unfortunately ended up being true. Rest in peace Liam 💔

I don’t actually envy them the travel, because as much as I’d love to travel more, I don’t think they actually got to see many places outside of hotel rooms, stadiums, planes and tour buses. They could never leave their hotels because the crowds outside would be off the scale insane and waiting for them. I’m sure it used to be reported that they had to have hotel floors reserved for just them for security reasons. As they’ve said themselves, they were cooped up in hotel rooms with little to do other than drink from the mini bars and room service

Why is fame glamourised...it sounds awful to me, I've always said is absolutely hate to be famous.

Now the lads have done a joint statement people will now be wondering when Cheryl will say something. Afterall she has fancied him since he was 14 and she was well in to her 20s.

I don't know him whilst it's sad for his friends and family that's who it should be sad for, People really need to stop wallowing in pity for someone who didn't know they exists death.
Music forms friendships, creates communities, provides amazing experiences at live shows. It's perfectly acceptable for people to mourn someone who helped provide all of that in their life. Just because you've never experienced any of it doesn't mean you should judge people who have.

I’m not even a 1D fan, but Louis’ and Zayn’s posts have choked me up 💔

I think the two of them in particular have been in dark places themselves and it has probably hit them really hard.

I don't think that a good majority of x factor contestants coming out voicing their negative experience a coincidence, they were promised the world probably & in their naivety fell for it, & as for them coming out of the woodwork now against Simon Cowell/Syco to be fair this has been rumbling on in the background for quite a few years so I don't think it's just 'jumping on the bandwagon'
There are quite a lot of lawsuits going on instigated by X Factor contestants that involve Cowell.

The X Factor & Syco have never had any care of duty. Indeed, why would one expect them to, considering that they'd often ask contestants to talk about personal issues they've gone through, stating that they'd stop filming - but they wouldn't and would air those clips. It's all about manipulation.

Syco's ethos has always been to get the most out of a X Factor winner in the first year and move onto the next year's winner ASAP, often dropping them with equal speed. They warn their employees not to get too close to X Factor acts as they'll be dispensed with as soon as their success starts to wane. Cowell is cut throat as they come.

It's completely acceptable stop moaning, it's okay to snark on celebs rest of time but not because they are dead, it's actually best time to as they can't sue you.

Well that jumble of words was hard to read🫠

People are allowed to be sad at a young man and father losing his life in tragic circumstances.

I suspect Zayn & Louis have been in very dark places, much like Liam. It’s so easy to think you are invincible, that drugs & alcohol won’t kill you. And mostly, they don’t outright but they cause something else that does. So many celebs have died drowning over the years on drugs.

My heart breaks for them. All of them are still young & had a very unique experience together. Even if they weren’t overly friendly now, it’s an enormous shock & loss. It’s so sad but it’ll probably actually bring them back together as a four. Not from a music perspective but just as friends. I hadn’t spoken to my twin cousins in years until a death in our family & now, we are very friendly again. The event brought us physically together & shared grief kept us in touch again. 💔

In fairness to the 1D lads whether they grew apart or not. They’re the only 5 lads in the world who have experienced One Direction. I remember when Left Eye died and TLC were saying we fought like sisters but we were still sisters.

Right? I genuinely believe it would be fun for about a week for the experience of it. But no, in all seriousness I couldn’t think of a worse life

I've noticed this before with certain things. Beyonce's tour, Harry's tour, Taylor Swifts and Niall tours, all over my fyp without me ever looking for them, now the same with Liam plus loads of other things before.

And all these folk saying 'ahhh poor Cheryl. My heart goes out to her'. This is exactly the same thing that got Phillip Schofield cancelled yet because it's a woman, it's apparently OK.

Louis’ statement. It’s so personal. Almost feels like we the public shouldn’t be reading it 🙁
Agree. It’s got me tearing up and I don’t usually get emotional over anything. Louis always had such a way with words and this statement just hurts.

It’s just because those videos are getting lots of views at that point in time so tiktok thinks you’ll also be interested unless you click “not interested”

On these platforms you don’t need to watch for long for it be counted as a “view” and for you to be recommended more of the same. Not sure exactly how long it is on TikTok but on insta I know it’s only like 3 seconds

If you really want to stop them coming up definitely click not interested when one does

I feel like the tide is finally turning on ‘celeb culture’. Not because of this sad incident but in general the celebrity world seems to be getting more and more exposed for the seediness that it is.

I remember watching an old interview of David Bowie who said there’s something lacking in celebs (Referring to himself too) If you like preforming why can’t you do it out your back ? Why do you need an audience ? So many celebs have said that at their peak they still felt empty, which is why so many turn to drugs. It’s so sad.

I have already said multiple times that I am sorry for the friends and family, there's my empathy and decency

However most other people are just being grief tourists that's my opinion don't like it put me ignore.
In what way does people expressing sadness and empathy at a young man dying far to young make them ‘grief tourists’?
