It's funny how it's only the failed X factor people who are witching about the show. 1D got to see the world and make millions because of X factor. The 5 of them wouldnt have got that if they'd never entered the show.
I don’t actually envy them the travel, because as much as I’d love to travel more, I don’t think they actually got to see many places outside of hotel rooms, stadiums, planes and tour buses. They could never leave their hotels because the crowds outside would be off the scale insane and waiting for them. I’m sure it used to be reported that they had to have hotel floors reserved for just them for security reasons. As they’ve said themselves, they were cooped up in hotel rooms with little to do other than drink from the mini bars and room service

I found the recording of the hotel worker really strange. I speak quite good Spanish and it sounded to me like Liam was already dead and the caller knew that, it was my first thought. His tone was off and the fact he explicitly said the way that he was going to die (or had died) and that the police weren't needed, just the medical team, also surely hotel staff can always enter a hotel room?

Maybe he was thrown from the balcony and thats why he landed head first?

Maybe there's a cover up?

You think what, that a member of staff at the hotel killed him then they covered it up?

Honestly that sort of nonsense belongs in the depths of X

No if he was having a mental health crisis on drugs it's common to call just an ambulance. The police can make it worse and they won't know what he's consumed or have access to medical equipment. Calling an ambulance is good practice I would have got the police for back up though but very just in case. Police can make people more agitated
I don't think it was in any a coverup , hes had suicidal thoughts before when high.

I think the 1D guys are in a bit of a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation right now. If they weren’t on friendly terms for whatever reason (which is acknowledged with some members) coming out and releasing a public statement seems trite. But if they don’t, then people will complain.

It sounds less like suicide and more misadventure with alcohol and drugs that led him to be manic. If that’s the case, I wish people would stop hating on the peripheral people in his life.

Cover up of what? Witnesses saw him kicking off, his room contained alcohol and drugs? He was quite obviously in a manic state and thought he could jump into the pool.

The person on the phone initially wanted help as he was so agitated and they were concerned he may jump from the balcony as he didn’t want to be in the room and they’d made him go back there. The phone disconnected and by the end of the call he said just send an ambulance basically, meaning don’t worry about police as he’s now injured (didn’t realise he was dead) and needs medical help.

I think it’s insulting to suggest a cover up. It’s not difficult to fact check.

The 1D boys will release a statement. It’s very common for those where groups are involved in whatever way to group together & release a joint statement initially & not immediately. Look at the Friends cast when Matthew Perry died. They did a group announcement & then individual tributes when they felt able.

I always thought it was odd Harry surrounded himself with people 10+ years older than him (& frequently much older) during the latter 1D years but in hindsight, I think smart move. He had genuine adults looking after him, adults who could keep him grounded & navigate the industry with him. I honestly think that’s moulded him into the stable human being he appears to be today. He’s shied right away from an online presence & I think that’s by far the healthiest thing to do when you are that famous.
Harry also comes from a small Cheshire village with a close group of friends and close family. Very much like Nialls situation

And the hotel may just not want the police on site.

no I said MAYBE it was a coverup. Just that I felt he was already dead when they made the phone call. It was just my first instinct.

I think the criminal underworld of drugs and South American gangs is quite hardcore. I have spent extensive time there and just know certains paths, for example narcotics trade, are littered with deaths.

I agree its probably more likely that he threw himself off in a drug addled state but you can't rule anything out.

I also read - on one of the many news outlets so how true this is I don’t know - that part of what caused the kick off in the lobby was that management/security not allow him to go out into the pool in his current state for his own safety. It stands to reason he would have thought he could jump or tried to climb off the balcony. And that would also tie in with why the manager on the 911 call specifically stated they were worried about the balcony in his room.
But I digress, it’s easy to get carried away and come up with 1000 reasons why he did what he did and we will never truly know.

clonazepam can be used for downers as after a heavy coke binge to fall asleep. He was a very heavy drug user. I honestly think it's a tragic accident and wasn't in his right mind. I don't think any foul play just too many drugs.

Agreed, there are various versions of events already, the other main ones seem to be that he fainted in the lobby and they helped him back to his room after, that he’d been in the lobby following prostitutes that had just left his room, etc…

We’ll never truly know what happened

You could also tell he used a lot by the way his body weight went up and down. Same with Matthew Perry, on drug - Skinny. Off drugs- heavier.

It’s also certain the hotel worker likely knew Liam’s level of fame. Maybe they didn’t want to cause too much of a commotion for him? With the police turning up too.

Mixed with the paco which is the drug over there it's 500 times stronger than coke, explains the foil and using the coke can as a bong, mixing upper and downers probably made him suicidal side effect of the benzo tablets is suicide thoughts.

Please can we not start with these mad TikTok theories that someone threw him off the balcony? It's insulting and disrespectful. I think a blind man and his dog can see what has happened, you just have to go by the amount of drug paraphernalia in the hotel room.

Everything has to be a conspiracy theory now 🙄

Not just someone high and not in complete control of their actions who made a grave error in their behaviour.

I don't think any public figure including bandmates should 'have to' make a statement and be criticised for not doing so. For all we know they could be expressing condolences and offering support to the family privately, which is far more meaningful.

People just can’t seem to grasp that tragic things happen to people (even global superstars) and that’s all it is - no big cover up or conspiracy - just a bad situation or bad luck.
you’d think by now, with most recent cases being Jay slater and Nicola bulley that people would realise the most obvious solution is almost always the right one.
