I'm assuming Kate was hanging on to his success and the lifestyle. I saw her talking about how 2 years ago she was styled by a stylist for halloween and she was in awe of thats how he lived. She will have witnessed his behaviour. I saw an interview earlier where he made it clear he had bipolar and it's clear he was having a manic episode. Having being around that myself it's incredibly difficult and that's with someone who had nowhere near the resources Liam had available to him.

I'm wondering how she dealt with Mayas allegations as she seems to have left in the midst of it? Could this be the catalyst for his drug binge? I do feel somewhat bad for her as she must be going through a lot and she's just lost the lifestyle she's become accousmed to!
Did Kate have money before she met Liam. Or was she just a normal person. That's going to hit hard not having this lifestyle anymore.

I wonder how much X Factor/Syco have to bear some responsibility/duty of care, the whole entertainment industry sucks, Liam said in one of his podcasts when you have a bunch of 16/17 year olds locked up in a hotel room gig after gig after gig, the only thing in a hotel room is a mini bar, you look at Louis & Zayn especially they seem to have aged physically beyond their years, is it a case of fame/ record label/Simon Cowell squeezed ever last drop of work ethic out of these young lads, made their money & they are no longer 'hot property' but Niall & Harry Styles seem to have come out of it unscathed but I do wonder what's going on with Harry & his pearls, & general dress sense - it seems their adolescent years have been taken away from them 😞. It's not a coincidence in recent years many x factor contestants are now coming out how they were treated, isn't Katie Waisell, Jedward & Rebecca Ferguson lady suing Syco 🤔

Isn’t this where it all gets a little muddy though - as she’s said the story is based on him then back tracked a little and said it’s not all true story and some parts aren’t true. For me it makes the book a little dangerous from that respect.
The abortion part is untrue as far as I can make out.
I thought I understood when she said that bits were not 100% as in she was changing small details, eg, the guy in the book doesn't have a child already. I understood it as, the main plot points are true, minor details changed. The abortion is true for sure.

The abortion bit is true but I’m not sure about the complications afterwards and his team refusing her to get medical attention.
I thought she said it wasn’t because the reason is that he was too young for kids, which people have pointed out and she agreed wasn’t true at all?

I don’t think any of us really know or will know what went on and sadly only one person is now able to tell the story.

Like i said earlier it’s a bit dangerous to put out a ‘based on a true story’ based on someone in the public eye but then embellish or simply make up parts of it especially when it involves such triggering topics such as DV/forced abortions etc

I don’t think you’re weird. I had a very similar feeling to what you described when I heard about Michael Jackson’s passing. I hadn’t been a fan for years, but I felt very freaked out and unsettled by it. I think hearing news like this at nighttime plays a part in too maybe? And of course the shock of it. So please don’t feel like you’re weird, I think it’s a very human reaction.
Me too. Michael Jacksons passing hit me really hard. Despite all that's written about him, the demons he faced and the allegations- I still felt this deep hole. I remember people laughing at me and insulting him in front of me. I shaked it off because I can still separate the fact that, tes there were issues around him but as an artist i adored him. Alot of his behaviour I could never condone, but at the same time he brought me a lot of joy during my childhood. It was like a nostalgic loss, almost mourning this massive chunk of my childhood.

Its very hard when your hero turns out to be extremely flawed. Its like the magic is lost.
And so I think anyone who feels this loss by Liams passing, I think it's extremely normal and you should allow yourself to be upset. Its not silly or immature or anything else anyone wants to tell you.
Music is extremely powerful, it can often be the soundtrack to our life. It can uplift and soothe us and it can unite people. It's like a universal language. Music is born from emotions and life experiences and so of course we become attached to those that channel it.
I really hope Liam can rest in peace. My love and thoughts are with Bear, his mum and all who loved him. So tragic. Drugs are the devil.

I think this was very much a calculated step by Harry and his team to put some distance between Harry the stadium rock star and Harry the boyband member.

It's no different to what Bowie, Marc Bolan and Freddie Mercury were doing 45 years previously.

That's definitely not how I understood when she said that. Imo, she was meaning the reason wasn't true, but the actual abortion was.

One Direction were just worked relentlessly for those 5 years, recording, touring, etc. Simon exploited them for every penny he could extract from them. The amount of tat you could buy that had their faces on and the 1D branding on was insane. They were Simon's Golden Goose.

From what I've seen she was a normal girl graduating from university around the time they got together. Then she moved to London I presumed to be with Liam and decided to just become an influencer.

I could see Liam going for a non-famous girl that would follow him around like a groupie as I really have got the impression he didn't want to be on his own, but I can imagine it was vioaltile being around him. A girl without her own proper career or finances is more likely to stay in that as well. Noticed in her recent TikTok she was saying how she always ended up in seat 1D so he clearly had her flying first class everywhere.

I agree that there is a dark side to fame and being a child star etc. There is no doubt that the 1D boys worked themselves to the bone at their peak and were probably taken advantage of by labels and management etc along the way but I don't think any label or management is responsible for this. People take their own path. Some people see cut out for it and others not but there is individual responsibility also.

I must admit although I feel deeply sad for Liam I find the adulation for celebrities who go off the rails and end up dying a bit annoying. In contrast if a normal person is a drug/alcohol addict (mostly due to adverse life experiences) they are seen as weak, lowly members of society and nobody really cares. Celebrities at least have a lot more support available to them if they so wish as they have the financial means. An average person with these problems is just left to rot.

I think they definitely have a responsibility
How can you know you’re cut out for it at the age of 16 trying to make your dreams come true?

I don't like all the hate Maya is getting now on Tiktok etc. It's sad Liam has died, I was a 1D fan so I do find it very very sad, however him dying does not make her experience any less real (or not, whatever you believe). It was her experience, her story to tell and if she did suffer abuse, let's not try and silence women. The more it is spoken about the better. It's tragic that Liam died, but it's his own actions that has seen his life end in this way.

I'm not that comfortable with people blaming X Factor and Simon Cowell. We don't know all the facts and it feels like jumping to conclusions.

One of the music channels is playing 1D videos all day. A tear came to my eye on the bit of Story Of My Life where they show his whole family together
Out of all their music videos, that’s the one I’ve been thinking about the most. The part when Louis grandparents, who are no longer here disappear from the picture
