Oh yeah I agree he could absolutely step up, but if the roles were reversed people would absolutely be calling out the older man for taking advantage.
She's not totally to blame but something weird went on with their 'relationship'.
He was effectively groomed by her as she was very much the teenage boys poster woman back then.
Then they start going together when he's a grown up boy and very soon after she is pregnant
She moves into his Surrey mansion with her mother and brother (!!)
Allegedly he moves out and into London. Eventually selling the house and 1-2 years ago the DM publishes the deed from Cheryl's new home, he partially bought it too.
I think she chewed him up and spit him out.
In fairness we don’t know if she makes it hard for him to see him.
I can’t see her grooming him when he was younger like she did make comments to him at his auditions but I’m sure she was with Ashley Cole at the time and he was with Danielle.
They both were in relationships and busy with each others music careers before they actually met again and the time they got together she wasn’t even the boys poster girl anyone ether.
I do know Ashley Cole (apart from him cheating on her) and the other guys she married relationships broke down because she wanted kids and they refused to.
I don’t think years before grooming happened but I did think it was crazy how fast their relationship went but then I think Cheryl and Liam are so similar when it comes to relationships. She was the same as Liam always needing to be in one until she had bear

I think Cheryl wanted a kid, and this was the easy way for her to get a kid. And she basically agreed with Liam he was sperm donor with benefits, and he didn't really have to be a present parent. That's what I think.
I do agree it is weird they ended up in a relationship when the first time they met she was 24 and he was 15. But also she had no contact with him beyond a three-minute audition and a bootcamp performance that year, and not much contact in 2010 either since she didn't mentor One Direction.
She might've used him for a baby and spat him out, or maybe not since I remember her saying in 2014 (even after she married the French guy) she didn't plan on having children. I think Liam has also indicated that her pregnancy in 2016/17 was unplanned. From what they've said about the split and how Liam said having Bear "ruined" his relationship with Cheryl, it seems like he was the one who ended things because he didn't like the responsibility that came with family life. We'll never know for sure, but since then Liam has been the one chewing up and spitting out several different girls.

True, although I definitely don't think she made it difficult in the early days after her split. Maybe since then with Liam seeming to return to old... habits... she's started trying to reduce his contact with Bear (although it's not like it was much in the first place anyway, considering he chose to miss the first three or four birthday parties to focus on his barely alive career).

Edit: I feel like I'm coming across as a Cheryl defender which I'm not. I think Cheryl also has her own issues and has made some very questionable decisions. I just think that at least Cheryl seems to be a dedicated mother, whereas Liam hasn't exactly embraced fatherhood and is very immature and so deserves to be criticised for that.

It's soccer aid. ITV just posted under his Twitter post saying they wonder what it could be. So he's the captain on soccer aid again.
Majority of the time, mothers "make it hard" for fathers to see their children when it's right for the child.
He looks concerning. Part of me wouldn't be surprised if he takes a very tragic turn

I was just about to say that Jesus he’s really hit rock bottom, there was heaps of love island ones at that show last night

I feel like this guy is going to spiral down a very dark path in the near future
He’s just very very very desperate for fame again . I don’t like him but I can get that it must be hard to go from being in a very famous boyband getting all this attention and making so much money to then it coming to an end and your career dying but you have to see other people you were in the band with having more success than you. I think he has an addiction to wanting fame and attention so no matter what anyone says to him I doubt he’d be the kind of person to listen and just live a low-key private life working on himself mentally and learning there’s more to life than fame. He uses his ex band mates as something to talk about and get attention to try make people like him because without one direction he isn’t interesting and likeable. I think his bitterness and ego plays a big part in why he’s not likeable. I could see him ending up with a lot more problems and unhappiness if he keeps chasing fame because even if he somehow achieved the same level of fame he had in one direction ,there’s no guarantee how long that would last so he could easily end up back in the same dark bitter place.

I think the hearings got worse and worse that hasn’t helped him in his choices he’s been in a catch 22 since they separated but then if Harry did half the stuff he’s done no one batted an eye lid. Like now he’s doing soccer aid and people here are like “he’s desperate” “he just wants fame etc” but then Niall and Louis did it a couple years ago and Liam done it last year and there’s loads of celebrities that are still successful that sign up to do it because they spend a week living and training like a footballer. It’s mad when you think back to the way Liam was in 1D and seen as the sensible one too now and I honestly don’t think he expected to be the best out of them all when they separated with how much Harry was people’s favourite since X factor.
Anyone who is famous likes attention because a huge part of being famous is having people obsess over you , talk about you and throw money at you. If you want to be a famous singer or actor for example you know fame comes with that and yeah there might be times it can get annoying or too much but these celebrities enjoy a lot of this fame too. No matter how nice a celebrity is or how talented they are cause there does seem to be some genuinely nice famous people out there but every celebrity has one thing in common they like being in the public eye getting attention. Liam is desperate for fame again I think anyone can see that he craves it and keeps wanting to get his name back out there and that’s his choice but I think he’s so caught up in missing the one direction days and that level of fame that’s it’s caused him a lot of problems and made him unsatisfied. Like I said being in a famous boyband to not having that level of fame and fortune anymore could mess anyones mental health or make them have doubt in themselves.
