I hope he's finally at peace now, and he didn't deserve his fate, nor did his loved ones.
This is our time I guess, with everything going on politically, culturally, socially.
I know we can't change the world, but what he's taught me is what I should have maybe known all along, check in with those close to you, if you're that worried go one further and check in with those potentially even closer them.

I’m not sure that anything could have saved Liam, sadly — even with all the check ins in the world. I truly think we have to build a world where people see value beyond being famous. Because too many people still think it’s all glamour. There is absolutely no way I would ever want my child to be famous.
They're already speculating that's it's not real and the timing is suss. What is wrong with these people!!

If you want to adopt Liam as a hero figure go ahead, but for him to be that hero, some credit would then have to go to Karen and Geoff for raising him as such.

These people are exhausting. My feed is full of it now because I clicked on a couple of posts to see what they're saying. There's some bat-shittery going on now about Liam having/not having a tattoo on the back of his neck, therefore he's still alive.
The tit the guys from 1D are taking over this is absolutely shocking, too. There's not an ounce of self-awareness between the lot of them - complaining that people were being mean to Liam, then absolutely dragging his bandmates. It's like the possibility of grieving in private has never occurred to them.

These fans will never believe anything if it doesn't feed into their narrative. Now they're claiming Liam's parents didn't write that, but if Liam's parents had released a video saying that where we literally see the words come from their mouths, the fans would've said "it's a script. They've been forced to say that". His family can't win. Those deluded fans will always feed into the conspiracy element
It is a shame though because not all fans will be like that. Some have been very respectful (eg the fans outside the hotel who tried to protect Liam's dad from the paps)

Total madness. When you strip away all the bells and whistles of fame, a young man died after several years of suffering horrible mental health issues. Those mental health issues almost certainly affected everyone around him. It's not unreasonable to think that despite loving him dearly, those people need to take a beat to come to terms with what's happened and how they feel about it. The pissing contest about whether or not a statement was heartfelt, or whether tours should have been cancelled, or if Harry is a disrespectful douche for running a marathon is a bit gross.
They all seem to forget that if these lads had met in an office, they'd start running out of management sympathy after a week. There's millions of pounds at stake with what the members of 1D do, I find it baffling that they just think they can go 'nah, I think I fancy stopping for a bit while I figure this out'.
I think their reaction just proves what a lot of us on this thread thought: it was never about getting "justice" for Liam and everything to do with some sort of weird attention-seeking virtue signalling: "Aren't we great? We're never giving up on him, even if his family have". No, you're mats. Just STFU!
There's so many more non-intrusive, productive things they could do to prove their love for, and loyalty towards, Liam, whilst simultaneously supporting and respecting his family wishes, yet this is the hill they choose to die on. They're giving all his fans a bad name.

This a thousand times over, and then over and over again.
He wasn't perfect by any means, and I don't think we need to rehash anymore of his vulnerabilites, struggles or potential faults.
But it's undeniable he did try to do some good in this mad world with what he had, and it'd give his legacy so much more if instead of all this madness, the effort was put into supporting the positive things he stood for.
The expense and also profit (grrr) that people will be incurring is ridiculous, how about maybe donating it to the GOSH appeal in his name?
Okay we don't all have the same financial position as Liam, nor most of his friends, but again volunteering like he did at a food bank is financially free, and costs nothing more than your own time.
I'd be amazed if any of these type of characters on TikTok and the like have actually got off their keyboards or phones and done anything, yet they're there knocking the ones who actually knew Liam in real life, and their response.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't want it to come out and I hope it never does, but the GOSH appeal, I think it's pretty much a cert which 4 names are at the top of the donor list.
I think what aggravates me the most is, if it WAS some big, industry conspiracy (why?!) and Liam really was bumped off (again, why?!) it's not like sticking posters up outside the hotel where he died or screaming into the TikTok void is going to do anything to change or rectify it.

Just let the lad go, like someone else said, volunteer at a food bank or your local hospital or something - anything - that isn't leaving an indelible trail of doubt for his son to trip over one day.
I hate to give any of it crecedence, especially the music industry mogul bit, which is always an easy place for suspicion to fall, with historic poor treatment of some artists, how much of it is behind closed doors, and of course the large financial sums involved, but for what's it's worth I'll share my thoughts...

When the cameras stopped rolling, it was always Simon who was most helpful to those auditioning, yes some he may have shared some constructive criticism, but he wasn't cruel nor hurtful, and tactically managed those auditioning's expectations about if they could or could not make it in the industry, particularly the younger artists, who he was most sensitive to.
I know this was what 2-3 hours, a very long time ago, but can I reconcile that memory with one of the current ongoing insinuations that he's plotted the death of one of those same young people he helped?
Especially as he's reportedly close to this same persons child and their mother? Let alone it seems he has some sort of relationship with their parents?
I honestly just can't see it.

The thing I don't understand is the way some of these "fans" are making out like they're trying to protect B. I've seen lots of comments about how they're going to try and get all the negative stuff and "lies" about Liam removed from the internet so that B won't have to see it in the future. But what they fail to understand is: B is 7, he's not a baby. I think it's safe to assume he knows how to read and probably knows how to use Google and YouTube. And whilst I don't doubt that Cheryl and his Grandparents, aunts and uncles don't let him have free reign over the internet, all it takes is an unsupervised search at school or a friend's house. Or for another child at school to do a search and relay the information back to him. Even an innocent search on YouTube to watch Liam/1D performances is likely to bring up the conspiracies. The internet is so intertwined with every day life that's it's hard to shield kids from this kind of stuff, especially if they're curious about something. The fact that the statement specifically mentions the effect speculation has had on B suggests he's probably already seen some of this stuff, which is heartbreaking.
I appreciate this may seem hypocritical since I, along with others on this thread, have discussed Liam's behaviour and death in-depth. But I think a child is much more likely to click on a YouTube video or social media post than they are to read a stream of text on Tattle (or know what Tattle is to specifically seek out these threads).

I agree with you, but sadly the death conspiracies are just the latest in a long line of weird 1D fan theories. B’s family already have the issue of the internet to deal with. And, tbh, Modest exploited social media when the band was active for engagement.
And, yes, you could rightfully argue there’s a difference between being a 15yo fan in 2014 and being a mid-twenties onwards conspiracy theorist now — and there definitely is! — but I would also argue that this is the end result of that strategy. I am not excusing people’s behaviour — it’s terrible! — but I guess I’m just not surprised that this is where we’ve ended up.
Another suggestion to the ones who want to do something in his name, not from the horses mouth as much as the foodbanks, and supporting sick children, but I still think the word of his most recent partner of 2 years can still have the same merit...
