The unable to leave your house thing was entirely invented by Hollywood to make us all seem like scared recluses and to make fun of us. Some of us have the world spinning around us as soon as we step out the front door (I had that when I was first diagnosed) but that amount is very small and most have other issues going on. Most of us are people with jobs and kids and friends, not hermits who are scared to leave to house. As someone who has fought cancer twice I can say with absolute certainty that I am only here today because of the amazing, beautiful souls like you who selflessly commit yourselves to carrying others through the most challenging times of their lives. The dedication, compassion and fortitude required to push through that exhaustion, sacrificing your own well-being, sacrificing time with your loved ones, to be there for total strangers, is something Leila could never even conceive of let alone come close to.
