New member but longtime lurker - like so many people on this thread I once enjoyed Leigh’s content but she’s really the dregs of Instagram now. The You Beauty podcast has also dropped off a cliff in terms of quality.
Wouldn’t trust a single recommendation she makes on beauty or anything else, and let’s not forget the racism that Mamamia seems to have just ignored. Baffles me that they’re constantly posting supercilious woke articles and even have an “Indigenous Stories” section on the website yet employ an executive editor who is comfortable using racist slurs about First Nations people. Mamamia is complicit in the very issue they are patting themselves on the back for speaking up about.
Also dodgy as hell the way she discloses her aff links. For the latest round she’s admitted that she gets a commission if you buy - but the way she’s written it implies that it’s if you buy that item, when we all know she gets a commission if you buy anything from those sites! She gets up to 10% for a whole month from The Iconic.

It’s pretty uncool that she posts the story about using Victim A cream while pregnant when this is known to cause birth defects - she would be well aware of that and didn’t even mention it in her answer
Breaking news lovely people!!! I just got an email from Urban Company (who I had a HORRIBLE experience with for an end of lease clean a year ago- had such difficulty dealing with their ‘customer service’ that I ended up having to claim my money back via PayPal)- they are winding up operations in Australia at the end of this month! So pleased that their shocking excuse for service will no longer be around, and all the wasted $$$ getting grifters like LC to shill them has been unsuccessful. What are the poor influencers gonna do now that they have to clean their own homes occasionally? I’m playing a beautiful tune on the world’s smallest violin.

From what I’ve seen it’s pretty widely accepted by doctors that only prescription strength Vit A is actually a concern for pregnant and breastfeeding individuals, off the shelf is not a risk. Not to white night for LC though, most of her advice is tit and people should be consulting their doctors for advice on this stuff, not her.

Uh oh looks like Urban Company has folded. Which is understandable given how awful the service is. Maybe too many freebies handed out? Hahaha.

Urban company are sooo bad. They must give the half decent cleaners to all the influenzas. I had 2 bad experiences and have never used them since. Same story for my friends.
