I have my test next week , i dont feel as nervous as my first test which was in august, does anyone have any advice for test day please?
Eat a banana, genuinely releases happy endorphins. Slow deep breaths. You’re ready. You can do this x

I second the banana. I didn't feel like eating but I ate it very slowly lol. I also took a paracetamol.
Good Luck! 🍀

I'm now trying to do little trips in my car but it's hard on your own and in a different car - the bite point is in a different place so I've stalled a few times! The husband gives 'advice' like 'you need to loose the shuffle of the steering wheel now' .... Sod off love, all in my own time! 🤦🏼‍♀️😅

Just popping back to update: I passed my test with 2 minors on Friday. The route was much quieter than the one I had last time, mostly wider roads and my manoeuvre was a forward bay park. It does not feel real! When the examiner told me I'd passed I got out of the car and ran round the back of it for reasons unknown, I was so bloody surprised, he had to call me to come back 🤣 been out with husband in the passenger seat but haven't been out on my own yet, does anyone have any tips for overcoming the fear?

Congratulations! There is nothing like the feeling of actually passing ☺
It feels very odd to be on your own in the car the first time, but that feeling will disappear very quickly after the first couple of trips. My advice would be to just pop to the shops or something, a small local journey where the parking isn't a nightmare at the other end, and you can buy something to reward yourself. I went to Lidl for my first ever solo drive (after having always walked there previously) and bought myself some flowers!

Huge congrats MissCherryB!! 🎉 Well done

The fear will go eventually but it's still a learning curve after passing, I've been driving over a month now but each trip is different! Little nuances can sometimes throw you but it's gaining experience. Just breathe and you'll be ok. We got this! 💪

I’ve been driving about 18 months now and still get a bit nervous especially if I’m going somewhere I’ve never been before. Just take it bit by bit and you’ll soon hopefully love driving on your own. Just continue to drive as you would while learning / on your test - that is to say, the biggest learning curve for me was anticipating and driving in response to other (idiots) on the road!! So just keep at a sensible speed, give people space if you are unsure where they’re going or what they’re doing, don’t rush yourself - if you miss a gap at a roundabout for example don’t panic, the world doesn’t end, just wait for another. I talk to myself sometimes on the drive if I just need to feel a bit more sure about what I’m doing!

Enjoy driving 😀

I passed! Had the loveliest examiner! Asked if I could buy him a bottle of whiskey afterwards 😂

The absolute relief! The banana beforehand definitely worked!

Thank you! I’m still waiting on an email to say he messed up and I didn’t actually pass 😂🫠
I passed my test, then received an email I'd failed. They sent me the wrong results and I had actually passed. Unlikely to happen to you but if it does, please check it 😅

Just out of interest how long did it take your licence to arrive please? My test was last Monday and nothing has come yet
