I don’t think my sarcasm translated well.

My comment was aimed at the posts when this thread started, such as kneecap are “cashing in on a current trend” “repeating talking points they’d heard online” and “falling over themselves to talk about it”
I understood! I was just trying to expand on your point.

Rangers were brought in because of a kneecap mention of them. RTFT 💚
The arguments about Kneecap have absolutely nothing to do with Rangers or what was displayed yesterday, but someone felt the need to bring it into the argument.

And instead of posting your wee initials, just come out and say it so that we all know what it refers to.

I posted that, so have a go at me if you're going to have a go at anyone. I brought it up in relation to the sectarian terrorism/non terrorism chat which grew organically from the conversation. But even above that, I do think it's relevant to the thread, given Celtic's connection with Palestine also.

Wee initials? It’s an acronym. Read the full thread 🤣 are you paranoid??

rangers was mentioned the previous page by kneecap. There has been plenty of conversations here, and on the linked NI threads about whether sectarianism is still alive in 2025, and whether kneecap have any skin in the game when talking about sectarianism, the troubles etc. the display from rangers was the most recent evidence that hate is still alive, hence linked and posted.

i genuinely can’t believe that needed explaining. So ill assume you didn’t RTFT, rather than you being purposefully provocative.

anyway; the thread is about kneecap as you and I have both said so why don’t you post an opinion on them? 🙃

I don't think it's relevant at all to the thread.

The thread is about Kneecap, a band who encouraged people to 'kill a tory' and their support for terrorist organisations.

It has absolutely nothing to do with Rangers/Rangers fans and the display yesterday was nothing to do with Palestine or Kneecap. But if posters wanted to go down that road I was happy to highlight the inconsistencies in what they were saying.

No let’s have it right you just wanted to post some whataboutery.
Because I didn’t say “rangers won’t get pulled up on it but if it was Celtic they would have been” or something similar. So there weren’t any inconsistencies to point out.

I did also see stuff yesterday about Celtic fans being told to take their 🇵🇸 flags down, while the flag of Israel was permitted on the Rangers side. Which does feed into what this thread is all about (ie Kneecap being smeared and branded as 'terrorist supporters' in an attempt to suppress their vocal support for Palestine and their calls for an end to the genocide).

Why did you not just say that then 🤷‍♂️

I’ve seen right through Kneecap’s intentions for some time now and am happy their true colours are (finally) being exposed. Many on the left were dressing their act up as a bit of craic and turning the negatively of the Troubles on its head. But really, their act is tribalistic, baiting of the Unionist community in Northern Ireland and using the same language/provocations that the IRA would’ve used.

No issue with them having an opinion on the Israel/Palestine situation (I disagree with what they say, but it is free speech after all). However, their support for Hamas and Hezbollah deserves to be called out, while some of the footage of them encouraging the murder of British MPs is a disgrace. Somehow, their wee cult following of simpletons see nothing wrong in their violent rhetoric.

Tbf I did see a guy being told to take down an Israel flag, and I could see plenty Palestine ones being flown. I think he was attaching it to something to face the Celtic fans so perhaps that was the issue?

I don’t see them baiting the unionist community at all. I actually think they always come across balanced in interviews - they supported the youth clubs on both sides, and even had young Spencer (a proud unionist) support them at their Belfast gigs. They constantly speak about how much both sides actually have in common with each other.

They’ve always been very vocal about not having an issue with people identifying as British in NI, but having one with British rule / the govt.

I didn't see that (just scrolled briefly on twitter this morning) .... but as a broader point, I do think it's 'relevant' to point out that the respective Palestine/Israel support seems to be divided down the lines of Republican/Unionist, Catholic/Protestant, and therefore, inevitably, Celtic/Rangers. May be also useful information for those reading who aren't necessarily as aware of such divisions in Irish and Scottish society.

For a group who claim to be about peace and uniting people, their slogans, aesthetic, anger and violent rhetoric so obviously is designed to cater to one half of a divide in Northern Ireland and alienate those on the other side. Its pathetic.

Take someone like Rory McIlroy’s recent achievements, seems a win win for everyone in Northern Ireland and not tied down to division/tribe.

What do you disagree with?
And what about support for Israel, should that not be called out? They're the ones who have killed tens of thousands of innocents and maimed many many more.

Wouldn’t even bother V, anyone who can’t see it by now doesn’t want to see it. There’s no excuse and no hope for anyone turning a blind eye to genocide.

I just wish they could even attempt to articulate it instead of lashing out at people for being 'terrorist supporters'. But they can't because, deep down, they know, and it's much harder to face what's been going on - what they've been defending - than it is to smear those pointing it out to them.

Children are starving to death. There are no hospitals. No doctors. They're attempting to move people again, into cages, which they will guard. They've levelled the place. It's been more than a year and a half and no end in sight. But sure, I'm the terrorist supporter.
