Oh wow, so jealous! Amazing atmosphere I'm sure! It looks like some crowd?
The crowd was fantastic. A genuine show of solidarity with Mo Chara and Palestine. The only sign of trouble came from someone who showed up with an Israeli flag. The police ushered him away before it kicked off too much.

Just back from seeing them in Fairview. I'm old enough to be their mother so I always thought I wasn't their target audience but I wasn't the oldest there tonight. The place was hopping, people from all over, all ages. They had plenty of fuinneamh. Looking forward to seeing them again in December.

Makes me wonder if the people booking acts actually research who they are booking? Because surely there is some research before they agree. So I don’t get why they suddenly cancel them because they should by now know what this band is about.
They knew exactly what they were getting when they made the booking. It’s not like Kneecap have been quiet on their political outlook before this past couple of weeks. So pretty ridiculous of them to see the bandwagon and jump on it.

Was Joe in London last night? I feel like I’m tripping, All Ireland sporting hero from Dungiven who also happens to be a top barrister who also happens to be married in to the Biden family defending a rapper from West Belfast who’s being charged by British Counter Terrorism police for holding a flag.

Pass me the Pinot 🍷

Who could have predicted that watching tens of thousands of people die in the most horrible ways imaginable every day for 19 months (with weapons provided by their own country) would provoke mental illness in some.

That’s one way to elevate the status of someone who raps about politics, slap some terrorism charges on him. Nice one Britain 👏😂 pretty inconvenient though, I don’t even like rap but I’m going to have to spend all day tomorrow listening to Kneecap on Spotify. Again 😂

Does Gerry have his own thread or would he sue us all for defamation of character?

Has everyone watched/read Say Nothing? He well ordered that murder. He also gets to play at being an elder statesman, well paid and in a well cut suit while his former cohorts are alchies and PTSD ridden broken old men. I don't think he believes in anything but himself.

Having said all that, I unfortunately find him maddly attractive and would be fine with him tying me to a chair and punishing me for all the crimes of the English.

It makes me so sad to see so many stories about sectarianism in NI recently, for example this weekend https://www.thejournal.ie/three-boys-attacked-in-derry-sectarian-violence-6689954-Apr2025/

I remember post GFA, Omagh etc thinking that it was all mostly resolved and people were coexisting happily despite everything that had happened, save a few die hards and then seeing the Holy Cross school girls being tormented when I wasn't long out of primary school myself led me to realise it went a lot deeper than I could imagine and the troubles would never be over for some people.
But this is the hate crime 😂 try and pulp a couple of Catholic boys to death with garden furniture and no arrests (despite names being given ) but throw paint on a Unionist monument and it’s a crime…That’s the reality that Kneecap put across on stage.

I don't know the ins and outs of it. But if a recipient of public money has shown support to proscribed terrorist groups and said stuff like “The only good Tory is a dead Tory. Kill your local MP” I think that would be the argument to remove it rather than removing the grant due to not liking the art.

I get that it was apparently years ago the the dead tory, kill your local MP. But isn't that how the internet and cancel culture works? Where one message from years ago comes back to bite.

Wouldn’t even bother V, anyone who can’t see it by now doesn’t want to see it. There’s no excuse and no hope for anyone turning a blind eye to genocide.
I just wish they could even attempt to articulate it instead of lashing out at people for being 'terrorist supporters'. But they can't because, deep down, they know, and it's much harder to face what's been going on - what they've been defending - than it is to smear those pointing it out to them.

The same people who are frothing at the mouth wanting a rap group locked up for saying words are the same people who stay silent about wanted war criminal Netanyahu. I know who I’d rather see behind bars.

The very recent legacy of Belfast will absolutely affect new generations in a way they're perfectly entitled to both explore and lampoon.

Maybe basic human decency? Lame af comment. You crack on with fangirling those IRA cosplaying gobshites.
Life and events go on during all anniversary atrocities. Your post was hyperbole to the point of camp which is why it's been roundly ignored.
