Her bond with Lana is not going to be affected by her spending time with her Dad. She is also entitled to a childcare bubble. My son spent 30 mins today playing with his Uncle. He is still bonded to me 🤷

What’s with same sex parenthood? Who has the „fatherly instinct“ in a lesbian relationship? What even is „fatherly instinct“? That’s such a hetero- and cis-normative thing to say. It’s a way to create that „children need a father and a mother“-myth, which limits the rights of homosexual couples.
Just because you don’t remember her saying that, doesn’t mean, she didn’t say it.
She might be bi but she’s in a heterosexual relationship with a man and has a child with him . You are reading far too much it.

I also don’t understand how Kiera expects Little Doe to expand so much that it would help support her family with a decent income. As someone else mentioned here - yes, many things she makes look lovely, but they’re still fairly niche and do not appeal to that many people. I used to buy beads and metal bits to make my own earrings when I was around 13-14 years old, but since becoming an adult, I don’t wear jewellery that’s made of cheap metal. Not only does it stain your skin, but it also doesn’t last very long and tarnishes badly. It’s the same as when you realise that you’re far better buying one great quality piece of clothing instead of 3 badly made ones that will only last a few washes. Kiera really really really needs a job outside of her house, even if it’s a couple days a week doing cleaning etc..

It would be such a shame if they had split up as they always seemed like a very close, happy couple. But then I suppose having children changes things.

Routine is something all humans need, and it seems to me like there’s a lack of it in their lives and will be a lack of it in Lana’s life.

Nobody likes working, but, getting up at 4am and coming home at 5pm every day gives me routine. Someone else doing a 9-3, or someone doing an 8-5 have the same experience as I: routine.

Them both being virtually unemployed and Kiera no longer really making videos and giving up on getting her Instagram account back means they’ve lost a source of income and a source of routine.

I don’t like my job, I hate working, but I know that if I didn’t do my job I’d lose my routine and then lose my mental health in the process. Even the richest people have some form of routine; I think Kiera could easily do a part time job even with breast feeding, she could express it or she could ask her employer to accommodate her hours to suit.

The issue is that they both sound like they have poor mental health and have lost motivation to do anything besides frollock about and take care of Lana. I don’t think it’s a good long-term lifestyle that they’ve been living. I don’t understand why people closer to them haven’t said anything.
This is so spot on.

Me and my husband often say if we won the lottery (we’d need to play first) that we couldn’t just do nothing because we had millions. We’d still need to work or volunteer to give us routine and some self worth.

I had my first baby in 2019. Having worked for 15+ years I HATED losing my routine, that was the hardest part for me. I remember crying because my husband was leaving for work and I wanted to too. Having a baby is hard as it is but it turns your world upside down. Having breastfed also, that isn’t an excuse not to work. As baby goes onto food and gets older they feed more efficiently and therefore less often. The first time I left my daughter for the day she was just 2, due to lockdowns we’d never been apart and I was so anxious about her routine and nap time but she was fine. Lana would adapt if Kiera did work.

And if she pursued photography Lana could sometimes go too to lessen the time apart. I think sometimes it’s easier to just hide away from the world but it’s not healthy and makes you feel worse ultimately.

Kiera is just one of those youtubers who I can't dislike, she feels genuine and normal.

The video made me sad that she's been going through a lot but she must be in a better place to make such a visually beautiful video. I do wonder why they haven't really moved house yet? The landlord is raising rent and there's a dispute with the neighbours, it might do wonders for her to move elsewhere.

I guess probably the cost of moving. Because of rent going up everywhere it might be even more expensive to get a new tenancy, plus all the moving costs, deposit, admin fees etc. I do feel for her.

I feel sorry for the kid, I think Kiera will shelter her too much, keep her away from social activities and school. There are so many benefits for going school etc, (though home schooling can work with the right input), but I think Kiera is going to homeschool for her benefit and not the child’s.

When she says she's "making jewellery" everything on her website is basically a one piece pendant on a chain.... so she's threading pendants onto chains as a full time job?

I love Keira, I think she’s so lovely and genuine! And her little girl is just precious!😌

I might be over reacting but personally, all these post of her breastfeeding are getting on my nerves a bit 😬 Like it’s great she is breastfeeding, it’s fab and I’m so glad she’s taken to it so well! And of course theres nothing wrong with the odd photo of breastfeeding on social media, she just seems to be putting them up constantly on her stories 🤣

I found the update a bit sad. She seems lost, unsure of a way forward. It’s clear she feels like the main caregiver/income for the family unit.

Sad that is sounds like Alex Is struggling.
I do wonder though how much longer can they continue like this..

having lost majority of income seems hard, but also don’t think either Kiera or Alex does anything to really help themselves. I hope they allow Lana to mix with other kids, as they strike me as a couple that would prefer to live off the grid, but will impact Lana.

Not watched the whole new video but Alex has lost his job again - she doesnt explicitly say it but sounds like his IBD was playing up and he was either taking time off or taking lots of breaks and they fired him 6 weeks in. Also alludes to them taking further action legally.
She references it disrupting their plans so i think the guesses are right - they were planning for another baby. Which again, slightly insane given their financial circumstances.
Really sad for Alex as it cant be easy coping with IBD and epilepsy and work - does anyone know what he actually does for a job?

She's kind of giving the worst of both worlds now. For people who like kids and want to follow a mummy vlogger, it's kind of necessary to show the kids' faces and film more of your daily life with them, which (understandably) she doesn't want to do. But she isn't offering any of her old content either to people who aren't interested in kids. All she does is share her thoughts and feelings about motherhood, which mostly consists of breastfeeding  without offering her audience an inside glimpse into her life, which I imagine is equally boring to everyone.
You’ve hit the nail on the head there! I think you’re spot on. She’s not sharing enough of anything for her audience to be captured. Fair enough if you’re moving away from social media but she needs the income. Her Little Doe stuff is hardly ground breaking and wouldn’t have a following if she wasn’t already popular. The new T-shirt’s are so meh. I’m not sure why anyone would want a logo of a brand and when it was established if it’s an extremely little known company?!

I also dont understand why she wouldnt be going out to work and letting Alex stay at home with Lana and work on Little Doe, unless there's a concern that he will have an epileptic episode (apologies if thats the wrong terminology) whilst he's looking after Lana?
Yes. Obvs I don't know either of them, but someone with active epilepsy should not be left alone with a child. My partner's epilepsy has certainly made work difficult for him at times, and to be honest, difficult for me too--we went through a period where he would have seizures at work every other week and I'd have to leave my own job to fetch him and then care for him. I'm fortunate that my boss was understanding but a lot wouldn't be. It's one of the reasons we've never added a baby to the mix as financially it would get very tough (it must be really hard to want to have kids in that kind of scenario). Self-employment is definitely the best option if it's feasible. It has to be something that actually makes money, though--bits of jewellery are never going to pay anyone's rent.

Well she finally cut her hair, around the end of May it seems. Decided to watch her most recent vlog even though I haven't watched her in so long. She is stunning, amazed at how healthy her hair has been post baby!
She seems to be re-launching little doe (again lol) and Alex has a full time perm job. It is interesting that she said "we haven't been on top of the job game and we've been trying so hard" because one it's cute that they are a team, but also odd because nothing leads me to believe they were ever applying for jobs for her. Just him.
I’m glad she’s back doing little doe stuff again. She seems to be sticking to her guns about not becoming a mummy vlogger. Rather impressed by that! Did anyone pick up that he’s been without a job for 12 months? She also mentioned that she’s worried about solo parenting.. it hardly seems like she lets Alex do anything so I doubt it will make much of a difference.

Not at all tempted to watch that depressing video- is it Keira and Alex having neighbour issues or her mum? Wonder what on earth that could be? They’re renting though, why not look for another place to live? (Yes I know that’s easier said than done but it’s not like they own the place and are stuck there.)
It's Kiera and Alex's home.
She said it'd taken her 7 years for it to feel like "home" (furniture, decor etc) so I assume she would find it very difficult to just abandon it like that.

I feel really bad for Alex. Because of his mental and physical health problems he can't have a consistent job AND also can't take care of Lana. It must affect him mentally and make him feel useless etc

It seems like the situation with her hostile neighbours has escalated and I feel terrible for her. It’s one thing to have shitty neighbours but the anger seems to be directed at the noise her kid is making which is scary
