I’m reviving this thread, as evidenced by my entries on what I eat in a day thread my eating is anything but Keto and it’s showing 🤣 there’s only so much exercise you can do to outrun a bad diet! Keto gives me amazing results so it’s a no brainer for me and I’m hoping I’ll shift a few before Christmas - my stomach is so bloated

Today’s food
Bacon cheese and ham omelette
Halloumi and chorizo salad with some guac
Chicken thighs, broccoli and Mayo

I don’t dare weigh in after the weekend I’ve had but I’ll be posting results once I’ve braved it

That sounds pretty bang on what I used to do. My absolute vice is Diet Coke and booze though so just need to su and be strong hahaha
I still have two cans of Diet Coke a day, gotta have something other than water!

I’ve just bought this book, it’s got good reviews so will report back! The dark chocolate and raspberry tart looks insane

Anyone still doing keto ? I think I’d like to do it to kick my Weightloss off again . Keto 800 looks good for short term - has anyone has good success losing 2 stone with the keto way ?
I lost 1 1/2 stone in 2019. Went down two dress sizes and never felt better. Started again a few months ago and the loss is slower but the inches are coming off. Only lost 2lb but down a dress size.
Don't crave sugar at all now.

Hey!

So I used to do keto Covid times and saw fantastic results. Lost weight and felt better overall. At the time I was WFH and had the time to devote to being strict with weighing and measuring carbs and making meals. No more WFH and social life is back and I struggled to plan for and stick to keto with long days.

Anyways I’m going try again to get back on keto as it is the only thing that helped me lose weight. Hopefully I can do this 🤞🏻

Good luck! I’m 3.5 stone down since January including quite a few cheats, it’s definitely the thing I’ve had most success with.
This is what I need to hear. I've over 5 stone to lose so it feels hopeless. I also can't have dairy because it irritates my gut too much. But I'll try my best.

I must say that when I do Keto I lose weight really well, and I struggle BIG time losing weight, but I can’t seem to maintain it for more than about 2 weeks. I mostly miss filling up on vegetables. Reading this thread has wetted my appetite to try again 🐠 🥩

Just a thought, please don’t shout 😆 but I wonder if you ate anything you wanted but kept to under 20g carbs, would that still work ?
I eat mostly low carb. I have done strict keto on and off but now I eat 3 meals a day based around meat, cheese, eggs and some vegetables (I hate them). I have 3/4 spoon sugar in my coffee in the morning (2 x coffees) and it doesnt affect me at all.

I seemed to still be in ketosis at 50g carbs and you can get a lot of vegetables for that. For me it's less about staying in ketosis (I personally feel like being 'in keto' is a bit hyped up) and more about basing my diet around foods that are good for me, don't cause cravings, and keep me full. I don't count my carbs at all any more.

Hi everyone!
A girl on my tiktok was doing for keto and saw some amazing results! I suffer with PCOS so really struggle with losing wieght, NO MATTER WHAT I DO. I just have to look at a cake, and i've gained the whole bakery on my weight - even with excersizing. And I've had enough.

I am going to eat what's left in the fridge (just some potatoes anyway foe lunch nd my marry me butterbean lasagne for dinner) but then when I go food shopping, that's when I'll start it. It'll give me enough time to look at reciepes but the halloumi and chorizo salad looks GORGEOUS!!

Another 1LB this week which I’m happy with as I had a couple of days that were a struggle… I know I was stress eating so now figuring ways to deal with my stress that’s not food related.

I feel like keeping to as little processed food as possible is really important. Fake foods and low carb alternatives to high carb stuff have never helped me. Keep it clean and eat what you like as long as it's low to no carb! Don't forget your veggies and lots of water.

I know what you mean, I don't have any almond flour either, so in a bowl I mix 60g grated mozarella cheese, 10g parmesan cheese, 5g garlic granuls and 1 egg. Then I put the mixture on a baking tray and flaten it out like a pizza and I put in the oven for 13 minutes. Once it's cooked, I cut them into 4 pieces and I eat 2 pieces for breakfast with half an avocado on the side and eat the other 2 pieces for lunch. It's very filling so it keeps me going. I do Intemittent Fasting too so I start eating just after 10am and finish by 6pm, but most of the time, I finish eating by 5pm, hope this helps :)
mines in the oven right now - only had cheddar so let’s see how it turns out 😆 thank you so much for your help! Also love the idea of having it formeals with avocado 😋

I think: allow yourself this in the “transition period” as it IS hard not to, and you don’t want to fail at the first hurdle by being too hard on yourself. I’m the biggest snacker ever and I’ve found that it DOES actually get easier over time. Every diet I’ve done I’ve been very “all or nothing” but this is one of the few that I’ve actually felt like I can be a bit more balanced with it.

I’ve conquered my first keto birthday! And I drank 3 bottles of slim Prosecco 😂🙈 WAY over on calories, but still nailed my carb target, haha. Picnic in the park with slim Prosecco, deli meats, cheese, nuts and Cheesies 🐷
thank you ❤ Can’t wait until I’m not thinking about food and snacking all the time 😅

happy birthday! Sounds like a hoot ❤❤

Day 8 of keto so far... I’ve been experiencing night sweats during the night, waking up in sweat... is this normal?!
wouldn’t surprise me because your body gets rid of a certain chemical when you’re first in Ketosis, I’ve never had sweats but I did have a terrible taste in my mouth

how do you make your cheesy breadsticks? I’ve seen recipes with and without almond flour; I don’t have any almond flour and don’t think I’d use it a lot to interested to hear if you make them without!

A gain this week in the scales but I’m trying to not sweat it, post menopause seems to definitely still have hormonal fluctuations, so sticking with it, feeling good but can feel the bloating which makes me think it’s hormonal. Got to Keep on going 💪

My first Keto Mug Cake! Wasn’t expecting much but it was absolutely bloody gorgeous.. seriously nice! 337 cals and 5g carb for the mug cake. Added double cream on top 🤷🏻‍♀️😋

I’ve only had 15g carbs today! But I’ve eaten too many calories, I’m planning on getting back to around 1,200 calories once I’ve gotten over the initial transition to keto - or I don’t think I’ll be losing much weight which was one of the whole aims!

Wow this thread is really interesting. These last few years I’m finding it super hard to shift excess pounds - like literally impossible, even with super low calories and increase in exercise. But I have a very sweet tooth - to the point I’d rather have a chocolate bar and vitamin tablet than a proper dinner - and have always suspected my heavy irregular periods, tummy fat, and inability to lose weight have been connected to eating too many refined carbs. I might give keto a go...

Any tips to stay motivated?
My head was in right process thought, I also found this helped me a lot, I put my most hated fat photo of me on my fridge, then every week after that I took another photo of me, I put that on the fridge, in four weeks you could see a slight difference, 8 weeks definitely notice a difference, 16 weeks you could see a big difference, I did this every week until I had lost 5 stone, I also only did on-line food shopping, so no naughty food was put in the basket, I also found that if I was craving food and telling myself I was starving, I went for a walk, I didn’t care if it was raining, blowing a gale or snowing, I made myself do it, came back and was no longer starving.

This was what helped me, I hope it may help you. 😀

Ohhhh gone off the rails🫣 Easter, birthdays… any lame excuse- Another family do tomorrow then back to the grindstone- out of interest have any of you signed up to the manyyyy apps available? I know they sound good but cost money … I know I’ve done it myself before - just curious - what was helpful
Honestly I don't think you should beat yourself up about partaking in family events, just be mindful. Next day continue on your path. I found stopping making it about weight loss and more feeling better about myself, took the pressure off. Good luck. :)

Right, so my first five days (I started Tuesday):
Starting weight: 12 st
Current weight: 11 st 8 lbs (6 lbs lost)
Average weight for the week: 11 st 9.8 lbs.

I'm heading in the right direction on my keto urine sticks so I'm hoping that if I can keep it up over the next few weeks that I could be somewhere around 11 stone by the end of the month.

At some point my plan is to move off keto and move to a more sustainable low carb and low sugar diet combined with more exercise but actually January is the ideal time for a diet like this. Although I'm back to work in the office two days a week from this week so that will make things more difficult, although I plan to prepare to avoid falling off my little keto wagon.

Day 4 AM- I've woken up this morning and weighed myself (even though I said I wouldn't!) . I've lost 2 pounds (3lbs Since Monday) I do feel like I've definitely got the keto flu but I'm going to power through because I feel like I'm doing something right. I definitely do feel less bloated, have less sugar crash outs. I do feel like I'm starving in parts, but I think thats normal.
Well done!
Keto flu is a bit brutal but I kept telling myself it was because the diet was working which helped.
My hunger is definitely down compared to when I was on my normal diet. I don't get the intense pangs where I need to eat crisps or chocolate.
I'm still struggling to find a carb replacement - I see Holland and Barrett do a sort of carb free rice so am planning a curry.
I see results though. After only three weeks my belly is so much smaller. I just feel smaller all over.
I'd genuinely given up on myself. I've tried restrictive diets for years but this is the first one I've seen is working and I've not been hungry.
