Back on the keto train today , I'm always really successful with weightloss when I do it . It's just trying to get back into the swing of things and I feel the first week is always the hardest 🙈 I'm determined this time as I resemble a little barrel at the moment ❤

Good for you❤ I am on day 10- had a busy day in the garden- aches & pains & tired- hubby firstly tempted me with take away for dinner ( resisted) then he went off to the shop for icecream- I came to bed and put on a facemask- it was hard to resist but I managed- just about- I don’t see any change in myself yet but my painful hip is less so - i absolutely believe sugar inflames my hip pain- best of luck you’ve done it before - you can do it again 👍

I’ve finally hit 3st loss this week after starting in January, with a few cheats along the way. I have a bit to lose and am finally noticing a difference in how I look.

Has anyone got the carb manager cookbook that links in with the app? I don’t have a kindle and the paperback version is £15, wondering if it’s worth it.

Three weeks 9.5 lbs down and hunger all but gone. Having to almost force myself to eat

Good luck! I’m 3.5 stone down since January including quite a few cheats, it’s definitely the thing I’ve had most success with.

This is what I need to hear. I've over 5 stone to lose so it feels hopeless. I also can't have dairy because it irritates my gut too much. But I'll try my best.

Bumping this thread up in the hope of some help!

I‘ve been trying to do low carb/Keto for my first meal of the day but I’m running out of inspiration a bit. I’m also trying to keep the large levels down hence not going the full low carb diet.

The problem is that I don’t eat meat but do eat fish, so I’ve been relying a lot on grilled salmon or seared tuna or grilled prawns. I love eggs and can happily eat them for breakfast every day but I could really do with some filling alternatives. Overnight oats are out - I tried making a low carb version from Big Man’s World but it was disgusting. I’ve also tried various low carb seed breads/almond flour muffins etc but they all seem really high in large too.

If anyone has any good recipe websites or suggestions that would be great. TIA!
---
Just to add, I’m about 3 stone overweight and have tried numerous diets, Slimming World (quark, shudder), etc over the years but a combination of IF and lowish carb is the only thing that’s been at all successful. I measure daily carb, large and protein on MyFitnessPal and don’t really eat UPFs or sugar.

Is there a particular reason you are worried about fats? I’ve been doing low carb / keto since May last year and am 2.5 stone down. I eat loads of cheese and as much butter as I want. Never felt better

Remember you can eat anything for breakfast and it doesn’t have to be a traditional breakfast food. Not sure why you are avoiding the fats? It’s the thing that keeps you full. I often eat a high large soup like creamy turkey soup or a curried coconut based soup. A lump of cheese and small amount of lower carb nuts is a pretty easy and quick alternative. I used to make eggs whisked with cream cheese and cream then microwaved which was like a super high large no sugar cheesecake soufflé. Tuna mayo with melted cheese topping loaded on lettuce ‘boats’ is another quick breakfast. Or avocado mashed into a guacamole with bacon. Any leftover dinner is breakfast! And lots of good quality olive oil. Always.

Thanks @Sabbie and @Rose28454, that’s really helpful. I thought I had to keep the fats and carbs down and up the protein. I do eat cheese and butter but have been trying to limit it.

I feel like keeping to as little processed food as possible is really important. Fake foods and low carb alternatives to high carb stuff have never helped me. Keep it clean and eat what you like as long as it's low to no carb! Don't forget your veggies and lots of water.

That’s also a really good point about non-traditional breakfast foods. I guess I’ve got a bit hung up on ‘breakfast’ but seeing as I’m eating it about 11am it could be anything really. Soup is a good call - I’ve just found some great low carb ones online. Definitely going to start having nuts as a snack again.

When I originally started IF and lower carb, I was being advised by someone who said I should cut down the fats to really kick off weight loss but trying to do low carb AND low large is just so hard. She said I should only have egg whites but what’s the point of eating a bloody egg if you can’t have the yolk?!

Yeh, if it's hard it's never going to work for you. I absolutely love soup and use a crock pot a lot to batch cook so breakfasts are never challenging. It also means I get in a lot of veggies fast which is easy to forget about on Keto. Once you get closer to your goal you will find you won't need so much large intake and relax into a more normal diet to maintain. Main thing is not to stress about it. You've got this!

I was speaking to my sister about Keto and large intake today and she gave me a lecture about cholesterol and fats being bad for you. I have normal readings and am checked every 6 months as I had a tia a few years ago. She is tiny with a severe eating disorder and has high cholesterol. So eating large does not necessarily mean high cholesterol

I’ve done this on and off for about 6 months now. I have PCOS and have read lots of things to say it helps with the insulin and regulates hormones etc. My mother in law did it for 6 weeks and lost 1.5 stone.
she gave me a book that had a few stories of a doctor who put patients onto this diet to help PCOS and help conceive and it worked within 6 months for 2 patients and 1 year for the other.
We have been trying to conceive for a year now so I am 💯 doing Keto!! It’s the only diet I have know to burn belly large and make you lose weight super fast!!
good luck to all ❣
Just finding this thread now and I’m in the same boat. I need to lose weight and I’ve Pcos and we are trying to conceive. Did you have any joy? 🙏🏻 if so what diet did you follow ? Hope you don’t mind me asking!!

Best of luck ! I find the fast 800 book excellent- mind you because of life things I am gone offtrack - will try to be goodish over xmas -
My advice is ask chatgpt to give you a 7 day keto diet - say what foods you want include or exclude and when you get a reply you can tweek it again to remove or include foods -
