Anyone else unable to get their heads round why she put the living room in the kitchen instead of in the front room?

I wondered the same. I’d probably have 2 living areas. One in the kitchen for entertaining but then a more formal one to hide away in at the front.
But then I’m old.

Surely it makes more sense to put the desk in the kitchen area where she currently has the sofa and then have a separate cosy living room away from everything like washing machine noise or cooking smells!?

Yeah why the duck is the living room in the kitchen? Just have a bit of an office area with a sofa in the kitchen and a separate living room. They’ve made an entire living room into an office. Strange set up. Also, where the duck does all her money come from? Lamp shades, mirrors, rugs, door handles, posters, cushions, bedside tables... it’s all new! Obviously this is just me being jealous because I would literally have to buy one or two things a month over a period of time until I retired to afford to buy tit at the rate she does. duck sake.

In her defence - if one or both of them have sold their previous homes to buy this one, you do sometimes have some money left after the house sale. This is what happened to me. I was like yay money for house stuff! But it actually ended up going on really boring structural works that needed doing to my house lol.

They are first time buyers - they rented their flat and she’s mentioned a few times about their HTB ISA!

I def would have had the kitchen as a simple lounge/dining area instead of having that TV set up in the kitchen. Keeping it simple with a big seating set up and it would be the perfect socialising room, then have the front room as a cosy TV room and where you'd put the Christmas tree for example.

And I also could easily make a dressing room + office one room. They obviously don't need an actual office just a desk for their laptops which you could put in the dressing room or even the spare room.

I'm pretty sure HTB is only available on new builds.
The HTB scheme is only for new builds where the government puts into shared ownership.

The ISA is open to any house as long as your a first time buyer - we bought a 50s terrace and got the government bonus.

Fair enough! Shows how much I know lol. I feel that Keelie is copying Joanna with the white walls and exposing the floorboards etc.

I wonder if there really is an underlying jealousy in their friendship 🤔

Each to their own but I personally could not chill every evening if my living room was my kitchen with all the cooking smells but then I do have a sensitive nose lol.

The flooring in her dressing room/office looks awful!

Have to agree with them to copy each other was shocked that Joanna has only been with her boyfriend for a year and they’ve already bought a house!!

Sure she has only been saving for a deposit since December as she has smugly pointed out several times. So even if they both had HTB isa since then they wouldnt have got much more than 1200 towards it between them

Clearly mummy and daddy have helped.

I always thought their friendship was a bit off. Joanna seems really nice but Keelie, not so much. As proven with those drunk videos.

I am always surprised at these people who meet someone and buy so quickly, bit like Peachy. So desperate to keep up with everyone and go with the trend.

Have to say I think Joanna is lovely, not braggy, and it's nice for a change to see someone on insta who is clearly educated and works hard (I'm sure I remember her saying at one point she had an early morning cleaning job alongside her normal job), and can string a sentence together. I was quite surprised by how quickly she and her boyfriend bought a place together, but they do seem genuinely happy together! My own personal preference is that I would never dream of getting a mortgage with somebody I wasn't at least engaged to - but that is just me. I think she's quite keen for that to happen as I remember when she announced they were buying a house earlier this year, she asked her followers out of curiosity how long they had been living with their partners before they they got engaged/married etc. and to be honest I can't blame her because there's nothing wrong with wanting that. Let's just hope he's not the free-spirited type who just wants to live together infinitely as I believe she really does deserve her happy ending.

I agree with this too. I also think the comments about her hair a few pages up are a bit uncalled for x

How long has Keelie's bloke been on the scene for? I'm pretty sure the first time I ever saw him was in the house completion photo?!
