Basically going to be a ‘personal brand’ doing ‘slow travel’ and be an ‘illustrator’ rather than a manufacturer.

She’s selling the Roland printer she was gifted. They’re handing back the keys to the two offices and converting their garage.

She has a lot of confidence in her characters, hey. I mean, I hope it works out for her but it feels like a kick in the teeth to those that supported her.

Also the melodramatic music on her video. wtf is that all about?

ETA: it all feels very impulsive.

Stage 4 influenceritis always seems to set in when relatively normal vloggers reach holy grail levels of parasocial relationships with their viewers. You know, the sort who would still cheer them on if they sacrificed a kitten using a prototype of a bumblebutthole arse scratcher.

In her latest CK vlog she was squeaking on about how wonderful all the colours are at Disneyland Paris. Unfortunately we weren’t allowed to witness these wonderful colours as the genius minds at Disney intended, because she’s slapped pink colour wash over everything on her videos. What is wrong with this woman and her obsession with colouring everything pastel pink and blue?
Also looks like words have been had with Deanie The Meanie about trying a bit harder on camera. He cracked a smile twice and there was a bizarre sequence where he got a Mickey plush toy attached to his backpack strap by his bag charm obsessed wife.
Rest of the vlog was the usual Disney crap. Nothing new or interesting, just her squeak squeak squeaking in a higher and higher voice. Does she talk like this at home? Maybe this explains Deanie’s sour face.

Beatrix Potter was actually an incredibly talented artist, not an illustrator.
Ive attached her sketchbook from when she was just 10 years old and some other drawings. Katherine could never.
Katherine is not a naturally talented artist - she has leveraged so much from the internet and art communities in order for her to learn to draw and to develop her style. That’s why it’s all very generic looking. It’s nothing more than a merch shop

Mike doing sad face about being unemployed when he has another family business on the side albeit being “run” by his wife is disingenuous to say the least. The few minutes of his vlog I watched made it sound like he was going to be jobless apart from the gaming thing. Virtually destitute. And lo and behold a $4.99 donation is in the comments.
I’m afraid I don’t believe a word that this lot say.

In her last studio vlog she announced that “my personal brand Catherine Kay is outperforming Katnipp” with a giggle. Like this was something to be celebrated. As I said upthread, it’s not a proper business and unless she stops pissing about and makes it a proper business she’ll lose it.

Considering katnipp employs her, her husband and her brother in law you think she would take it a bit more seriously

Don’t even get me started on this latest vlog…like someone else said, she pratted around the studio for ages doing everything but packing things away = what does she actually do?!
I just kept thinking, Catherine if you hadn’t bought all this useless tat in the first place for the 2nd studio you wouldn’t have so much stuff to pack away. She clearly struggles to work to deadlines, it makes me stressed watching her.
No surprise the garage hasn’t been converted and there’s no sign of it happening soon - why is everything so disorganised with her?! This is not how you “run a business” if it wasn’t for Mike & Dean, I doubt anything would get done

It makes me really sad - when I initially stumbled upon her channel, I really loved her travel vlogs and she seemed authentic. But now I get the feeling she is turning into more of an influencer and her content has lost its sparkle for me

Edit: I'm not gonna knock the plushies on bags. Me and the fella were the same. The lack of judgement in Japan is just lovely, everyone has plushies from children to adults and you're just allowed to enjoy being a bit of dweeb.

I think since losing weight she's actually got less self esteem and confidence than when she was bigger. She never seemed to care about filters etc before. It's like she's trying to keep up with other influencers. I actually like her and I think it's sad to see her going this way.

By slow travel she clearly means travelling without the pressure of coming back to an actual job. She’s done what they all do, had a taste of travel paid for by other people and now she wants that to be her “job”.

She decides to do a new product. Phone lanyards. Waffles on about it for five minutes then says she’s going to design it this week. Makes not on laptop to do list “design and send off lanyards”. Then she tells us she’ll put “an hour or two” aside to do that and to ring around suppliers. So that’s a completely new product line designed and sourced in “an hour or two”. Sorry but this is not a serious business.

Her over lined lips are driving me crazy… she’s naturally pretty and doesn’t need to do all the makeup and filters and the wigs… it’s really sad. I used to enjoy her content so much and I’m struggling to watch now

She said before that in her first year as a limited company (2015) she made £54k and paid herself £33k. No idea now.

Comparing herself to Beatrix Potter and Sanrio again, those are characters who are unique enough to sell stories.

I'm really not sure what sort of income she is expecting from self publishing children's books. It's competitive and I don't see anyone who is not a katnipp super fan buying them. If she is serious about it she should be looking for a literary agent

Selling that Roland printer really stews my prunes. She could at least give it back so they can refurb and sell it to make up for their losses giving it to that ungrateful trout.
