Also I don’t think she realised that she wasn’t being paid a wage, she was being gifted stuff from people. She doesn’t realise it’s not income and now she’s having a mardy about it.

I do believe the emotion she’s showing is genuine as is the importance she places on her connection with Grandad. One thing I hope that comes from today is that she can finally make peace with Grandad, which should allow her to move on. Regardless of how she reacts today, I think as someone else has already said, she’ll bounce back relatively quickly.

However, I do hope for the sake of Grandad’s relatives, that she manages to refrain from wailing during the service. Also, I’m still of the belief they’ll be a Mrs. Wilson style shock twist at the funeral where it turns out Grandad was a grandparent figure to half of Aylesbury.

I wonder if Valcna’s going to recite the “get rid of all moral filth” monologue during the eulogy.

For the past half hour I’ve gone down a Kate King wormhole and stumbled across this video on her YouTube channel



She’s explaining how she got into radio via a Zoom meeting to a gaggling horde of OAPs. I have to say her ability to talk and fill those awkward pauses between each statement that she makes is quite remarkable. She didn’t stop talking for the entire duration of a nearly twenty minute Zoom meeting. I’m unaware if she was reading from a script she’s drafted but nevertheless, she’s got good communication skills which would look good on any CV. It was actually quite interesting to listen to. I had no idea that she originally was going to go on a radio course with the BBC before lockdown happened. She’s also met Ken Bruce and Tony Blackburn due to her presence on hospital radio.

I agree completely. I've watched a similar talk by her and she's a natural public speaker. You can really tell she was raised by a different generation from the rest of us with how comfortably she can address an audience (or at least an audience of pensioners). She definitely has some skills and I'm sure if she reached out for careers support then some kind of job, placement, or training could be found.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the radio apprenticeship programme ended up going ahead but Kate and Val didn't like the idea of her having to travel. I can't remember where she would've had to go but I know it wasn't unreasonable for a commute.

Yeah. They're called John and Pauline. Kate failed GCSE Maths like six times so John offered to tutor her. She got quite close to them and called them her "church grandparents". At some point things turned sour and in either a live or a Q&A video she accused them of trying to turn her against her parents. I read on Twitter that Val and Mick used to make Kate walk to church despite her disability and John (I think it was him, hopefully I haven't confused this story with someone else) gave her a walking stick to make it easier for her and that was one of the things they didn't like. So her parents probably made her dislike them, and she stopped speaking to them. Can't remember any more details beyond that sadly.

So what she really meant when she said this couple brainwashed her and turned her against her parents, is that they only highlighted how shitty her parents can be at times calling their behaviour into question.

This is very sad to see. I looked at the account after seeing that and found several more similar accounts, either within the followers of this first account or within the followers of others. There are about 3-4 in total, all clearly revolving around the same purpose, namely supposed 'fan' accounts which are obviously designed for mockery and bullying, set up by Kate's then school peers. The peers in question look to have been the popular girl crowd, judging by the comments on the various posts.

For whatever negative points Kate may have, I do feel immensely sorry for her. Kids can be so cruel and clearly the mockery at school has had an impact on her. To be honest, it's probably a key part of the root cause surrounding Val/Mick's protectiveness of her and Kate's preference for OAPs.

I agree and I hope that by joining the under 30s bowls club, that she mentioned, it might give her some more confidence in dealing with people who aren't pensioners but more importantly just to be around people of a similar age. I hope she does make friends there because her frankly bizarre social media posts read to me as someone who is lonely and is trying to reach out. I just hope her parents don't impede that and let her live her life a bit.

That Kate King fan account is normally pretty accurate and has been following her since 2016 or maybe even earlier. I think they might live locally but not sure.

I think they’ve said in the past that they directly communicate with Kate over Facebook.

Very much going with the "throw everything against the wall and see what sticks" strategy on Photocrowd. Can't even be bothered to post them anymore but the quality is as shocking as ever and the relevance is typically tangential.

I simply cannot understand how this phone call was leaked . Did someone really call Foxhill Indoors Bowls Club pretending to be someone from the press, in an attempt to get Muggins to dish the dirt on Kate King being sacked ?
