Yeah, those are probably the forms she needed to claim TPD (total permanent disablement) or a Terminal illness version of the DSP.
It's crazy but they are often completed as handwritten paper versions (and certainly would have been a few years ago), easier for everyone who needs to complete it and then have it signed off by the right specialist... She would have kept copies for her own records, that's quite normal.
Not white knighting at all, I think she's dodgy AF, but this bit makes sense to me, this was a field I worked in for a long time.
Oh, ok. So the patient can complete the form and get a signature and mail it in? No test results or other proof needs to be attached, no communication required directly from the physician to ensure authenticity? That process seems like it would be ripe for forgery and scamming the system.

It depends, I think. Sometimes a Dr's signature and surgery stamp will suffice but other times you'll need to provide additional reports & documentation.

Yeah those forms look legit to me. So she was given an estimate of 24 months, these things can be so wrong as they’re based on an average of all sorts of unique cases. And palliative just means there’s no cure, doesn’t mean you’re going to die in x time frame. So everything is probably just tracking along relatively according to what the doctors thought, but she’s responding better than most to the medication.

Where she loses me is the no evidence of disease Stuff. It just feels incredibly unlikely.

Nah, in our service it was often partially pre-filled (biographical info etc) by the clinic nurse and then the consultant would add specifics and sign it off/stamp to finalize. A copy would be sent to the relevant service - super and/or Centrelink/Medicare - alongside a letter from the consultant.
Definitely not easily forged and the super companies fight tooth and absolute nail demanding all sorts of accompanying evidence so I’d say if she has this, she genuinely is considered to have terminal cancer. We worked with people with devastating neurological conditions and the super companies would even push back on those 😑

At this point even her initial diagnosis seems unlikely to me. Stage 4 terminal lung cancer that had metastasized to her brain, liver, shoulders, spine, ribs, hips, etc. by the time it was diagnosed and she has somehow managed to live 5 years? She has offered no proof of anything - not her initial diagnosis nor the NED, when it would be very easy to do so. So she has shown a box of Alectinib occasionally - she could have gotten that from her scammy doctor friend. I’m finding it very hard to believe anything she says.

This is what irks me. She says palliative like she's on deaths door living off morphine shots just to exist in a bed in a pal unit.
Alectinib for her disease has a i think 5 year progression free survival rate then up to 7 years with progression.

She's just spruiking her business to make a quick buck now. Good for her kid I guess. But cant take anything she says when she posts like this. With her big old white dressings on the port which are usually nice and neatly covered with tegaderm.

She literally just has micropore taped to a port dressing?? Wtf

I’m not a cancer nurse but my understanding by the amount of bs it takes to change a port cap let alone a dressing is that you don’t just whack some micropore on top of a dressing that’s lifting off a port?

Yeah nah. I had one for a long time in icu. The amount of care they take with keeping that port clean and protected from bugs is intense. And clearly necessary to avoid infections. She’s whack

This is it.
When my Mama got her Stage 4 diagnosis - which had metastasized, Doctors - real ones - oncologists - refused to give her a prognosis or timeframe. Even as she entered palliative care, we were not given insight into ‘how long’ she had left. They told us it’s something people get wrong about terminal illness because of medical dramas. We were encouraged to look into averages for her condition, but not to take any definitive timeframe to heart.

The median for Stage 4 lung cancer is 4 MONTHS. Kate is not being 100% truthful about her diagnosis and that’s for sure. I don’t doubt she’s unwell, but she’s lying by omission and it’s not just dangerous, it’s a slap in the face to the many of us who have lost loved ones quickly and mercilessly to cancer.

She left this comment on one of her recents posts and, unless I’ve overlooked where she has provided these things, it’s all completely untrue. I don’t see any of these things on her account. I only see opaque references to doctors and results and intentionally cropped images of documents that conveniently can’t be proven to be legitimate or that they even belong to her.

You know she has managed though? Within 2 years of debuting her cancer warrior page (which was conveniently started immediately after her diagnosis - who even has the presence of mind to do that when you’ve been given a 6 month death prognosis?) she managed to:
* double her business income
* open a second store location
* purchase a house
That’s not including the rental property that she also purchased using what she claims was the payout on her pension. (Again, no proof.) This whole escapade has inarguably been a financial windfall for her.

It seems abhorrently cynical but it is entirely plausible that this entire thing has been a fraud that was hatched with and aided by her scammy Dr. friend. I bet we’ve all probably listened to multiple podcasts outlining equally sensational and baseless schemes by deranged scammers. I get a pit in my stomach even considering it but in the absence of any concrete proof of her illness/recovery but the presence of her exhaustive posts on snakeoil cures and predatory money making scams to heal cancer patients, it’s a disturbing possibility.

All of these do nothing but continue to convince me Dr Lesslar isn’t much chop (how would any of these be good for general immune system when no other reputable medical professional recommends it)…

Kate skirting on “some evidence” being better than none… treatments need gold standard evidence to be offered to all patients.

Coincidentally Dr Lesslar has a vested interest in TMS treatments. TMS is evidence based, however the conflict of interest is so bleeping obvious.

… and finally Kate talked about her results from H4C and Mermaid Beach disco radiology… did she actually explain her results at the time? And how amazing she continually gets great results when she goes to H4C.
Alectinib is keeping her alive - all this rubbish is just misleading other desperate people.

Shes definitely spruiking H4C more this trip.
She sure is. She and the scammy doctor both. The doctor is now performatively ”trialing” the treatment too. I bet she gets a hefty commission for every patient she refers there, hence the hard sell. They’re both profiting handsomely from this and it’s disgusting.

She’s also so damn passive aggressive in her responses to anyone who questions her or offers constructive suggestions…

100%, she's that typical Gold Coast fake witch. And no before people come for me I am not saying everyone on the Gold Coast is a fake witch but there are definitely a few and she fits that stereotype perfectly 🙄 She's also a narcissist that has figured out how to make money, get free holidays and manipulate people.. Its wild!

I’m guessing that 99% of the people who donated to her GFM don’t own two businesses and two homes like Kate does.

It boggles the mind that people suspend critical thinking in situations like this.

I just saw one of her weird posts on Instagram and it reminded me -- does she look jaundiced to anybody else? Has she always had that weird skin color? Could be just me. Or maybe she puts a lot of makeup on to look sick? or because she thinks spraytan bronzing makes her beautiful?
---
Oh god... she's claiming that the H4C has many doctors who go there for treatment? WTF?

There's a special place in hell for people trying to talk cancer patients into trusting quackery. You might say she's reasponsible for shortening people's lives, if not actually killing them outright.
