She’s getting some flack on Instagram for her post about going into London and being able to get into a restaurant easily.
She needs to read the room more, a twatty comeback like ‘I’m married to lawyer, no rules have been broken” just makes her sound like an absolute twat!

What makes someone a stylist? Could I be a stylist? She has no background in it.

Not very much it appears, looking at those on Insta who all call themselves ‘personal Stylists’, they’ve usually paid for some extortionate styling course..which means nothing in reality, they like to brag they’ve got a ‘diploma’ from the London college of style ££££ ( not to be confused with the London College of Fashion!), and carry a fabric colour swatch. The majority of them look a complete bugger and couldn’t style their way out of a paper bag!

Completely agree. I think she’s adapted well to the circumstances influencers have found themselves in. She’s the only one who’s still championing black fashion (that I follow). Let’s be realistic, we’re generally all mixing in smaller circles, have limited opportunities but I don’t think she seems sad or mentally challenged

It’s a miracle, it seems talking to camera on the gram for an ad, renders you immune to Covid. Kat’s at the hairdressers without a mask and the hairdresser hasn’t got his face shield anywhere near low enough

I've just clocked the cheekbones. Good grief. Does she think we won't notice she's suddenly sprouting golf balls under her eyes. The picture with her looking up at the sky is so strange. I think she's sucking in her cheeks as well, but maybe not.

In the light of her general forthright nature I think she should come clean about this new facial development.

I agree completely with the points made and now Neptune are another one on my shit list of companies I won’t buy from but quite simply, they do it because it works. Using Kat and Neptune as an example, she and her lifestyle are aspirational to lots of people, she has shitloads of followers, many of whom will no doubt be Neptune’s key demographic so it’s a no brainier to show her advertising their goods. I’m sure there will be a huge reaction when she shows it on her page and it’s so much cheaper than traditional advertising. Most of these companies couldn’t care less about being ethical, they’re all just chasing the dollar.

It's not just the cost... a lot of people see Kat (and others) as friends and so are trusted advisors...so if she had a good experience with Neptune her "friends"will be more tempted to buy from them too.
Influencers work because "we" think they like us and we like them, "we" think of them and treat them like our friends...

I laughed at the recent navel gazing ‘Don’t believe that life is perfect’ post. I don’t Kat but compare to many many other women you’ve got a pretty charmed existence, and regardless of what you don’t share, you manage to squeeze in multiple luxury holidays, loads of new clothes, a holiday home, numerous overnight stays.

assume she has to do those posts every now and again to get the sheep inline.

I’ve just looked at the hair tutorial, shes not the best advert for anything to do with hair really. Her hair never looks particularly great and I’m def not influenced to buy the hair steamer. I think most of the influencers are struggling, no free holidays ( Kat has a few holidays ‘gifted’) last year. Haven’t even seen her have a scone with Flora margarine for a while tough times.

Me too, they have sat on advertising panels, chat panels, events, advertising dinners etc etc with every other middle class white mummy blogger on the circuit and said nothing about representation. Now they all tag all their ‘friends’. Utter bullshit.

I was never fussed on her style, there was always so much going on, but now it's mostly flowery dress after flowery dress followed by a flowery skirt. I don't know anyone who dresses like that. She must own literally hundreds of dresses!

She's absolutely bonkers ! I've been in her company and she commands the room and is just so OTT and animated. She's great fun on a night out, but one night would be enough for me!

It’s her style that I stick around for, though there has been the occasional hard pass. I really dislike the too high and too tight necklace. It actually makes my skin crawl.

My daughter is the same age as her daughter, and to be honest she would probably ask me not to mention her too, especially if I was gurning, shrieking and twirling round in parachute skirts on my instagram.

I feel mean saying that now, but it’s a risky ‘career’ anyway, isn’t it? I’d say all but a very few of these mum fashion/ influencers started out because they had the time & money to show off online because they didn’t need to work. I do an insecure self-employed job but if it didn’t work out I’d get a job. I can only do this as my husband has a good full time job (for now!).

Years ago I used to follow her and she used to sometimes post nice homewares (things from Matalan and h&m home) and I suggested she did more of that. She gave me a very short reply, something along the lines of “no! This is a fashion blog” this was when she took photos from her mirror on her landing and long before she was really known by anyone. There was No niceness in her reply... soon after I stopped following or reading the blog.

Here is the candlestick, there was also an oven glove but I can’t find that. Looking back at those early posts I bought lots of things she recommended, I liked her style then, she’s changed so much and I wouldn’t buy anything she likes now.

The queen of #pressdiscount holidays and #paidpartnerships, surely she deserves her own thread?

What is it exactly that she does that entitles her to all these #presstrips and #pressdiscounts?
Her life seems to be a rotation of changing room try ons, holidays, dress fittings at the top of the stairs and gurning in the car. Am I missing something?

Why are all these companies using someone who acts like she has an attention disorder, and is on copious amounts of speed, to promote their wares?
