People do still have to be hold to account (not always fully, as there will be exceptions) to their behaviour (with a MH diagnosis that may cause psychosis).
It can be a clear cut case of lost capacity at times - but more often, it is not.
Prisons are full of people with enduring mental illnesses, serving sentences for their crimes. Some may be admitted to long stay hospitals instead of serving a prison sentence, but most don’t - with their illness offered as mitigation prior to sentencing.
If Kayne West was allowed to perform at Wireless, filled his show with racist and antisemitic rants - and later said he was suffering from another psychotic episode, do we then turn a blind eye?
If the cause was proven to be his poor mental health, at what point would a line be drawn?
