Oh completely, it's never been OK and I've never understood how he has got away with that (and I'm sure other things too). I don't believe things just stopped in 2008. Like that journalist who said JB made comments to him that made him uncomfortable. Using being gay as an excuse has got to stop.

As always it's only when a light is forcibly shone on a situation that anything happens.

The fact that he thought it was only “tomfoolery” to get his cock out and wave it at women, colleagues as well!!
Just because you are gay, it is still not acceptable.
Not to men either….
And he did it in the workplace??
He disgusts me.
Chris Evans also used to do it, all time, yet he's still in well-paid employment. It always a mystery to me how some people get a 'pass' and other people don't. Chris is a very strange character and something has never sat quite right with me about him. I guess he's untouchable. I'm pretty sure he has some high-up connections with the Murdoch media machine who protect him ... but I don't want to get all tin-foil hat on y'all. :ROFLMAO:

I'm just watching the Doctor Who special for New Year's Day 2021. When Captain Jack frees the Doctor from jail, he says he committed crimes to get there. I'm watching thinking, 'what, like indecent exposure and sexual assault by flopping your penis onto people's bodies?'

Yeah I disagree on the good hearted, he did good stuff for public image and self promotion, and nothing more. He's never been able to handle criticism or anyone who disagrees with him. He loves attention focused on himself and loves to be in a position of power.

He has got away with a lot for decades. Karma.

The different times doesn't wash with me tbh, I'm 40 and I've never known it as being ok to do that, even for a joke. Hell even my grandparents generation wouldn't.

Exactly, he still doesn't see he has done anything wrong. It's also quite telling that none of his colleagues were really leaping to his defense, even his recent ones in Arrow.
I get 'showbiz types' (take that as you will) probably find it hard not to act-out when off-screen. But considering all the hard-work is must take to become a mainstream 'star' you'd think you would try your very best to show some self-control. It's a privilege to be 'famous' and to be well-paid for it, not a right. Plenty of people would give their right-arm to be in that position and as such you have a responsibility to behave yourself ... or at the very least be very discreet in your malfeasance. I don't think that's too much to ask for a public figure, especially one who has younger fans.

Don't call us John, we'll call you. You got your shot at fame and you fucked it up. NEXT.

I don't understand how ITV have taken action against John Barrowman, yet Phillip Schofield gets off scot free?
Someone please explain this to me.
Both of them disgust me.

When was this filmed?
From what I can see online, it was around June/July 2023.

---
So people from Geordie Shore, Love Island and TOWIE managed to do it but he couldn't... Jesus, no wonder he hasn't shown his face lately.

I was reading about this case today. In the article it said John had apologised for the incident in November 2008 and since then had not happened again. How did he remember the date? Also said article has his husband having a go as John has been ‘viciously trolled’ by some people on social media. Er, excuse me, pot, kettle? Ok to flash your dick though wasn’t it?

This is another one of those difficult cases where if you criticise his behaviour you’re open to accusations of homophobia.

I used to like John on children’s TV but maybe he’s changed?
Apparently he was called in by the producers of Torchwood so I wonder if it was an official warning or something.
Accusations of homophobia are just gas lighting imo. No Gay man I have ever worked with has flashed his dick around at work. It sounds like he did it to shock and got away with it until he was told not to do it. If he had been told to stop it the first time he did it it would have saved him and a lot of other people a lot of hassle but it sounds like he was surrounded by cowards and enablers.

He has mostly huge support on IG with only a few saying that he would have been fired for his behaviour from any other job. Same if his supporters are saying that people who are criticising him are homophobic what nonsense!

I
I used to really like him but no one who is good to be around gets their dick out at work.

I feel like there are so many blokes I was once a fan of in some way or another who turned out to be creeps or weirdos or creepy weirdos. It's draining when there's yet another one you can add to the list.
used to think he was a nice man until I heard about his antics with his dick, what an idiotic thing to do yuck.

The only issue I have with all of this is the timing, especially with DOI.

John Barrowman has been doing this for a long time. It is well known in those circles. It seems to be that it was treated and accepted that it was done in a joking way and not as sexually predatory behavior. It is often been discussed and has been addressed previously. He apologised for this behaviour in 2008 and as far as I am aware he has modified his behaviour since.

So, why all the outrage now? Has it really taken 13 years for everyone to be outraged? Did ITV have no idea about his when he went into I'm A Celeb? When he was given the job on DOI? His musical shows? The BBC when he he was was doing Dr Who or the conventions?

I'm not a big fan of Barrowman but DOI will have known about this before they employed him for family friendly prime time show.
I don’t disagree with your questioning, but I wonder if there are other occasions that he has behaved in this manner that have not yet seen the light of day . I guess this remains to be seen.
