Clearly not everyone fits that stereotype. I'm not suggesting everyone who is sexually abused then goes on to abuse others, it's merely a theory that there "could" be a connection in some cases.
I know you weren’t I was just pointing out we don’t know what makes a monster.

Paedophilia is a learned behaviour.Children being in the same room or the same bed with adults having sex and growing up around porn can definitely cause someone to have a warped mind and lead to them becoming paedophiles

I remember Philip Schofield defending him too it literally sickened me and have never liked him since that very day
I'm not sure I agree with that. I could be wrong, it's just my opinion, but I strongly believe there is a genetic link and that a person is born evil. I do agree it could certainly warp a child's mind and confuse boundaries, but I don't think that in itself is enough to make a child become an abuser later on.

I know you weren’t I was just pointing out we don’t know what makes a monster.
Ah good. I was concerned folks might get the wrong idea on what I was saying.

That poor woman describing the abuse:( made me feel quite ill.
As a survivor of csa I found it quite unnerving and my husband kept telling me to turn it off. However the key word for me, and many others, is SURVIVOR. I made it through and so did they and duck the abusers. This is why I really hope hell exists. My uncle and Savile, in torment for ever.

The problem with Saville is that he was so bloody clever about it. He was extremely arrogant and I think reveled in the fact he "could" get caught, but was very easily getting away with it all. It gave him a sense of power and superiority.

Lord Mountbatten was known as mount bottom at school but when he was older he preferred tall thin very boyish looking women. I have no idea why he liked Saville.

Because Savile could ‘fix it’ for him to meet the kind of people he found attractive?

I suspect Saville made himself very useful to those wealthier and higher up the social ladder, in a bid to further his own connections and perversions.

Sorry if this is a silly question...when the documentary played the police interview recording, a message on the screen said it was "based on the original transcript" or something like that. What does that mean?
Not a silly question. It's not the actual recording of the interview, so that isn't Savile's real voice. It's Robin Colvill doing a good impression of him. Here he is years ago doing the same act:

I feel the documentary is aimed at an American audience who have no idea who he was
Also a younger generation of Brits (myself included) who only became aware of Savile when everything was exposed 10 years ago.

Wasn’t there an American movie released, a Christmas film, called Jingle Jangle? They were advised to change the title but I don’t think they did, they went ahead with it.

That’s it, thank you for proving I hadn’t made it up!!
You're welcome! As soon as I read your comment I realised I'd watched a Christmas movie with that name, though netflix probably made them add that extra bit of title!

Eta - I've just found out that Rolf Harris is not only alive but been let out on licence. I would have sworn he was dead.

Am I right in thinking that Rolf abused his daughters friend but daughter stood by him all the way through??
I believe so. From my recollection his daughter said her father "came from a different time" which is just beyond ridiculous if I'm right in thinking that.

This article is nuts and it seems by the comments there are still a fair amount of people who think he is innocent.

His wife seemed a strange woman, didn't seem to live in the real world at all. Daughter came across as very grasping and arrogant during trial.

The Rolf case floored me. He was still on tv a lot when I was a child in the 90s, and I had always thought he seemed nice and harmless.
