If that's your house for life, would you not chill out and take your time doing it up and filling it with bits slowly. If she keeps "buying bits" at the rate she is then what about all the nice things she receives as gifts, random bits she sees when out shopping, wee souvenirs from holidays .... surely you wouldn't just fill your house with absolute rit for the sake of it.

I know we all live our life different ways but there's not one bit of how she lives hers that I understand

This is what we are doing. One room/ Reno job done at a time. We’ve done a bit of painting/touching up for now in some rooms but each room will eventually and as finances allow be decorated properly with better furniture/carpets as and when we’ve saved up.

This is what I was going to say, I couldn’t figure out why they looked so wierd but it’s because she’s gone over the window rather than in the window.

I had to look and go back to the window open then back to the blinds closed to work it out .... it looks OK open but when they are closed it looks like someone's just covered the window with brown parcel wrapping paper
