I hadn’t thought of that as the comparison. I have a stretched lobe and yes if you don’t take it out and clean it and the tunnel (jewellery) it does smell! Even after having it for 20 years it will build up a smell if not cleaned regularly just as for example your belly button does if not cleaned. Saying that both of them are very easy to do and only take a few seconds in the shower BUT I have no idea how it would be possible to to reach inside enough to keep the new tina clean and smell free without extreme behaviour involving putting things in to reach that would cause pain and potential infections.
