Can’t put my finger on this but I do agree with the other posters that she seems a bit obsessed with posting the food pics and almost trying to convince people that she eats lots of food - saying she’s aware she’s very thin and has had issues in the past with over exercising, etc…then posting all the workouts which is strange to me. I really think to retain a physique as thin as hers you have to be cutting out a fair bit of food or even food groups. And exercising a lot. It’s not a high metabolism she just has keeping her skinny.
I had a friend with a terrible eating disorder and she would make a massive deal of eating and “look I’m eating this!”…. I’d be afraid Jess could trigger someone vulnerable. And the closeup shots of her crotch and inverted belly aren’t a good look but that’s just my opinion. I preferred her in Australia, she seemed a bit healthier looking. ❤
100% agree with this and that's what I find so incomprehensible that some people are defending her. In my opinion she is bulimic and purging- it makes sense that she has such weak hair and bad skin. But then she is selling facials and supplements that she wouldn't need if not for her disorder. It's actually criminal and so unethical for a soon to be pharmacist it just blows my mind. I think she loves the attention, is a total narcissist and because of her training is doing even more harm because people will view her in a professional context. Then she has the nerve to put up mental health advice which again is so dangerous both because of her lying about her own issues and her lack of training in that field too. I actually think she is the worst on Instagram by a county mile!

Your post is complete speculation though. You don’t know that she’s bulimic or a narcissist or anything like that. That’s just your opinion. Others are allowed to have a different opinion that she’s a woman who is struggling with eating or exercise and grief, maybe doesn’t want to give every aspect of her health and private emotional situation out to strangers over Instagram but tries to put up things that people will find helpful or encouraging. I guess there’s bad in everything and everyone if you look hard enough for it but what an awful mentality to have…. In my opinion.

You are exactly right it is just a guess as to what her exact diagnosis is but we can both agree that she has an issue with food as she has admitted it herself. Why then glamorise her food and exercise regime at the same time as admitting you have an issue with food? Why promote an image of health when you yourself note you are not healthy and need to work on things? Where is the admission on her feed between advertisements and her tiny frame. I do not know her but I do work with young people and mental health and I see everyday the harm influences like jess redden do, and that's not an opinion, that is fact. If she was open about her experiences and not using them for profit absolutely but she is and she has absolutely no need to do so. She comes from an affluent background, has a successful fiancé and will be successful in her own career and will have access to endless amounts of supports and treatments if/when she uses them. However others will not, and as this mental health crisis deepens young people are again going to suffer from the lies and fakeness that jess redden promotes. She will be fine one way or another, maybe your concern should be for those triggered by her posts. Just my opinion

Yes I also work with young people and whilst I agree that influencers and social media are a big trigger for them, I also think there’s a difference between someone who is out to wilfully mislead and manipulate vs people who just maybe don’t think. I personally don’t find Jess to be the worst, if anything I think she’s guilty of maybe being dippy and not seeing the big picture but I doubt it’s an intentional ploy to encourage young people to under-eat or over exercise as a means of being ‘healthy’. But I do understand why she’s not publicly sharing more about her eating/health issues when it’s something she’s currently struggling with herself as the comments she gets (whether on IG or other forums) could be a trigger for her too.

Which is completely understandable especially as she navigates her grief- just don't monotinse it then. You can't have it both ways, be a ditz one minute and then offer medical advice it is so dangerous. Do I think she wakes up everyday thinking hmmm how will I trigger people, Absolutely not but isn't that the point of tattle- to call out people ignorant or not for their behaviour? Because what she does/promotes matters and she is too educated with too important a profession to fall back on the ignorance card. She knows what she is doing and likes the attention. There is no other plausible reason for it that I can think of to be honest and I think the damage she will/is doing is real whether through ignorance or not

You’re completely entitled to that view and there are definitely parts of it that I can get on board with. I guess I just see her differently and I admire that she’s been open about losing weight from Oz etc rather than playing the ‘just good genes or good lighting card’ and I think she probably posts so much food content to ward off the ‘you’re emaciated’ comments she probably gets (speculation on my part though!) But yes tattle is a discussion forum so all views should be shared and debated. It’s good that this thread is able to do that IMO!

Yeah I agree with you on a lot of things too and think it's great to get the other side of the coin. I think going forward I'll look more at her behaviour than labelling her as x, y and z so thanks for changing my way of thinking there 😀

oh flip it’s definitely not my intention to change anyone’s way of thinking at all… I guess more just me putting my two cents in! I never normally think too much about what people write on these things but I guess I feel a bit more defensive of Jess because I just see a girl who is seriously struggling despite whatever else she might be getting wrong... the weight isn’t dropping off her for no reason. But you did make me think about how other girls with eating issues might be looking to her as inspiration and that’s not good. Maybe she’ll be able to talk about it when she’s sorted it out herself. Have a lovely evening! ☺

I think Jess is a lovely girl and genuinely wants to give good advice to others. You don’t know anything about her so don’t make wild statements about her state of health. She has been grieving the death of her father but thankfully seems in a better frame of mind now.

Kindly don't tell me what to do and not do. I'm entitled to my opinion and allowed call out someone's behaviour. I mentioned earlier in hindsight should not label her disordered eating without diagnosing her in person, but her issues were present before the loss of her dad and that again does not justify her unqualified advice and unethical behaviour.

Wtf is she giving out very detailed advice on laser eye surgery....redirect them to the clinic for them to answer your freebie eye surgery.
This one thinks cause she is a trainee pharmacist that she can give out advice on every area of health, sick of her now.
Yes Jess your training to be a health professional.
I am also a health professional with 16 years experience, I don't give out advice on a social media page about areas that I am not trained in.

Just think it’s very wrong for some reason... she’s like a 6 year old planning her wedding! So weird she’s so childish it’s a bit creepy

Wedding flower themes…give me a break. Flowers that cost a fortune only to be there for the show for a few hours…what a waste. The extortionate spend and waste really gets me!!
Also all this skin regime recommendations and dedication I will never understand! I get compliments for my skin & I never “follow a strict skin regime”. Yes I get a facial maybe twice a year. Basic hygiene for my face daily. But all these different “necessary” treatments pre wedding blow my mind!

totally and people would judge you for not having a skin care routine! I’m late twenties and my skin is very good and I just take my make up off with miceller water and moisturise the odd time. Everything costs so much money nowadays I definitely don’t have hundreds to spend on products . Also I’ve been to plenty of weddings and all flowers are nice , no one pays that much attention

Not to derail the thread but frankly you obviously have good genes if you’re getting away with that in your late 20’s.
I agree that there’s a lot of nonsense and really unqualified people out there hyping certain overpriced brands, but talk of miceller water and the occasional moisturiser hurts my heart. There are plenty of affordable brands out there and I’d really advise people to be careful who they take skincare advice from. I certainly wouldn’t take it from Clarins number one fan Jess!

Late twenties is not old and I don’t think many people look much different from their mid to late twenties. So I really don’t get how not having a crazy skincare routine is that shocking

Everyone needs a skincare routine! And certainly wouldn’t be taking advice from Jess! Her skin isn’t great at all but haggered for a young woman

Skincare is preventative, you should start before things go down hill. It’s not that you should listen to skincare advice from random influencers who recommend different products every week depending on what PR comes through the door. But the one product you mentioned, micellar water, is actually bad for your skin, a lot of them are very harsh and they leave a residue so your skin is not properly clean. I’m not saying you need a 10 step routine or to spend hundreds, but even a normal liquid cleanser and a face cloth would be so much better. Not to mention SPF. Plenty of solid pharmacy brands out there. I am passionate about skin and I’m not trying to sell you anything so I’ll leave it there so as not to derail the thread but just know that you don’t need to spend a lot to do some good basics.

Jess is absolutely not one to listen to on skincare, because her favourite brand is Clarins which is really a beauty brand not a true skincare brand, and then she periodically recommends other random stuff when it’s #ad and there’s a few €€€.
