Do these bleeping morons not know exactly what kind of person he was? I’m actually spitting fire at the outpouring of love for someone who wouldn’t piss on them if they were on fire. All the wonderful people out there who go missing or lose their lives by no fault of their own and all this for a scallywag who made a stupid bleeping decision after being off his bits on drugs, theft and doing a runner from the repercussions of those choices? I’m absolutely mind blown
I really don't get why they haven't went with a cute little Blue Jay since they were saying to make Facebook blue for him 
(instead of badly edited angel wings growing out of his head or mutant AI Paddington walking him into the sea...).

I do feel for his family because it will be such a spectacle (maybe they feel they need this to get through). Then all this attention will vanish, just like with any other loss these days. People disappear after the funeral is done, life goes on. No one will ever be the same after losing their child, I can't imagine the mental toll it could have with this being so oddly public/viral.
I hope other missing people are found and cared just as much by the general public going forward. Would be interesting to know the reasons behind this case going so viral when it's highly likely Jay died the morning he decided to go for a stoat instead of waiting on a bus/getting an Uber.

For me I don't think there's anything wrong if people want to donate to anything. Who gives a tit. I would never donate to a gfm because I think they usually begin innocently but as more money is donated a lot of people start to feel entitled to a lot more than they originally requested.
I also don't have any issue with people requesting donations where they are needed. Eg. He's missing and money is required to pay search teams/his recovery. In the end the guardia civil found his remains and retrieved them. This didn't cost anything. It would've been nice to see a small donation to them for all the work they did.
We could say maybe they have been given a donation by the family and it's not our business what they do with the gfm money but I think it's the responsibility of the fundraiser to give a breakdown of costs.
Now, they are grieving a lost son/brother. No matter who they are this is one of the worst losses and those of us who don't experience anything like it are truly lucky. I'm sure the last thing on the family's mind right now is proving where the money has gone. Begs the question why ask for more? This is the one thing I can't get my head around. Why do they need more money?
I think gfm really need to start being more strict, they should be asking for receipts to prove the money raised on their site has been used according the to fundraiser. In this case for the search and retrieval of Jay. Then for the repatriation and funeral. That's fair. Anything left over should be refunded with each donor receiving a percentage of their original donation.
The gfms should also automatically be closed as soon as the goal amount is raised.
One thing I have been wondering about is whether the request for more money has come from Debbie/the family?
I wonder if the gfm updates are actually being written by a representative.
Also the nails have probably fallen or been picked off let's face it.
With the holiday insurance I feel like to avoid negative publicity they would pay up out occasions like this.

And do you know what's funny they have it that you cannot lower your target with ease, they earn to much from the donations, it's a business at the end of the day but that would definitely be the best, quickest solution for an instant fix on go fund mes, once ya set amount there no altering and once hit knocked off... Long run they'd have to do more around it but again they have ta morally care, they get ta show they do, has anyone ever scrolled through the funds on site, what people set them up for,

Because! Smart people, normal people knew who Michael was, paid their respects, knew it was awful. Moved on.

Yes! Omg I never even thought of that. They both succumbed to death in the same way.
One was a highly respected man who did great things, helped many people, contributed massively to nutrition, wasnt in trouble with the law, didnt take drugs or steal, and was on a family holiday and took an innocent walk that ended in tragedy.
The other was quite the opposite, in trouble with the law, doing community service, laughed at the judge in court, loved drugs, contributed nothing to the world, was quite the thief, got out his tree and pissed off to a random air bnb full of god knows what, decided to leave (chased, run away) and stupidly thought he could go off road.
Absolutely no comparison, yet everyone and their dog is worshipping the drug taking scrote!
Honestly I can’t cope, wtf is wrong with people. At the end of the day someone lost their child and that’s very sad, but it’s like everyone has suddenly forgotten who he is/what he did and turned him into some sort of saint. Am sure the victims and their families are thrilled with this turn of events.
