I don't believe him at all, but I'm also sceptical about the TikToker claiming to have been at school with him.

Although the tiktoker is far more convincing than JA. It's the anonymous students claiming to have been taught by him that I want to see the receipts.
JA always wanted to be famous and now he is. Oh well, be careful of what you wish for etc.
He claimed he was reading at a 3 year old level when he went for his Master's degree! How is that even possible?

I doubt she would do it, though I'm sure there are journalists offering her eye-watering wads of cash for an exclusive right now, but his ex-wife's account of her life with him would make for fascinating reading.

Insufferable. There was so much to question after reading his book, but yet James O'Brien jumps to say only if he was racist would he of questioned him.

It’s thanks to him she got to tell her delightful (imaginary) tale of all her brother’s RAF mates “jacking off” to her picture in the newspaper, much to said brother’s (imaginary) consternation.

From an article by Boris Johnson, a very good point, how did he take study and take two gcse's before he could read and write.
I thought the Guardian had established he didn't hold the post he'd claimed at Glasgow? Or was that a different university? I can't keep up at this point.
He was employed there but claimed he was also a visiting professor.

A spokesperson said: 'Thrilled to see one of our ex-pupils Jason Arday become the youngest ever black professor at Cambridge.
'We share his aim to inspire others from disadvantaged and under-represented backgrounds'."
No mention of overcoming mutism just before he left primary school unable to read or write. Also how many profoundly autistic mute children were mainstream educated in the 90s, it just wasn't a thing, he would have been sent to a special school not the local primary

BUT SUSAN BOYLE COULD SING
Susan Boyle grew up in a Council House in Blackburn, West Lothian officially identified as one of the most economically deprived areas in the region. Her father was a miner, her mother a typist. She experienced a challenging childhood bullied & taunted at school. Several years after her 2009 BGT appearance she was diagnosed with Aspergers and her IQ was assessed as above average. In 2009, aged 48, she said she had never been kissed and although fame brought her a brief relationship she is still reportedly single. From reports she needed significant support to perform but her intrinsic talent was genuine. I've not seen any accusations of voice dubbing. She was a rough diamond in need of a polishing - in contrast some things can never be polished.
Boyle has far more claim to poverty than Arday. Material poverty, poverty of expectations - her parents' generation were perhaps more deferential, didn't have the skillset like Arday's to advocate for Susan, interpersonal poverty for whatever reason she lacked confidence to have personal relationships when younger.
Jason Arday's promoters try to claim his council estate background in Clapham suggests poverty. I know the area very well, it is affluent compared to Blackburn and all the opportunities of Central London are accessible. His parents occupations might seem more professional than Boyle's - certainly if his mother had 5 degrees she would have been amongst the intellectually elite. Being Dxd as children would have made possible claims for benefits/adjustments so really were they materially in extreme poverty? Arday seemed sociable (football) and formed interpersonal romantic relationship fathering children young so he did not suffer a poverty of self esteem.
His struggle academically has somehow been recast as a external /system failure and everything thrown at it.
