Which protected characteristic is the Trump card?
The coherence of the autism claims are forensically disentangled, and the point is appropriately made that an autism diagnosis is not a free pass to be poor /incapable at the job. Adjustments have to be reasonable not bespoke and holistic to the extent of never applying a quality standard. In my view those with a Neurodivergent diagnosis should be concerned about a spin of ''Why autism is blamed for everything". It will be hugely damaging for those who do not have a fallback protection characteristic.
Cartrarian's article has undertaken an excellent analysis of trying to unpick the autism claim and analyse the other claims of Aspergers Global Development Delay/Learning Difficulties diagnoses.
If an unsupportable claim of a protected characteristic has led to benefits the individual would not have received in the absence of this identity there should be a reckoning.

It’s also interesting that his older brother Joe has spoken about how he (Joe) had speech delays as a child, that he (Joe) couldn’t “properly communicate” until he was around 8 - although he doesn’t claim to be entirely non-verbal - and that he (Joe) had a SEN statement. The writer of this article does suggest that Jason could have had some kind of learning delay as well, albeit not the diagnoses he claims, but I wonder if he’s also used elements of his brother’s story as well.

If Cofnas wasn't the best applicant, then Ghent staff have embarrassed themselves. Cambridge hired a man with a plagiarised PhD, fabricated back story and woeful academic output, presumably as they wanted a great poster boy for post-Floyd corrections. Yet Ghent hired Cofnas, and either knew about his controversial writings or didn't bother looking into why he left Cambridge. If he wasn't the best man for the job, who allowed him to trump better candidates? Were 'race realists' under-represented?

I've seen the phrase 'only clever people could be this stupid' more in the last fortnight than before.
I was at a relative's house when Arday's vigil popped up on the TV. My relative wanted to know what it was all about as she'd seen it in the papers but not read it. She spent 30yrs woking in schools, moving from dinner lady to classroom assisant to working with disabled children. I told her to tell me when something struck her as odd. I got as far as 'he was dxed with global delay and Aspergers at 3 and was non-verbal until 11' before her BS detector declared a full blown 'COW CHUTNEY' incident.
The Salt Path exposure never lead to all this handwringing and self-recrimination. The stakes were far less with exposing those frauds though. They weren't professors at the most prestigious university in the country that people pay a lot of money to attend, expecting to receive a first rate education.
Just to echo what was said by someone said on here, reading the extracts of the memoir was like reading The Diary of Adrian Mole. Him getting as far as he did in academia is exposing how corrupt the entire university system is. That has widespread ramifications for society.
